Ultra fresh and light - one of my all-time fav brunches
Agnes L.

Naschmarkt Deli's casual atmosphere, quality ingredients and helpful service made a great start to a day of sightseeing in Vienna. At the suggestion of our server, my husband, cousin and I each ordered the most popular brunch item - the Turkish breakfast. It was a great deal because the price included melange (coffee with milk) and bread. Because the restaurant is set within a farmer's market, we knew the food would be local and fresh. The dish included a kind of deconstructed Greek salad: cucumbers, tomatoes, green and black olives and feta cheese. Accompanied with this on the plate was one fried egg and a fried stick - resembling a skinny egg roll - made of fillo, feta and grape leave, with honey for dipping. OMG - it sounds so simple and light, but this dish was honestly so incredibly flavorful and satisfying.

Seasonal vegetables on the side that comes with fish entree.

We found this time while walking around the naschmarkt. Everyone in the restaurant was incredibly friendly and hospitable. The indoor restaurant was quite small only a few tables and you're very close to the couples in the next table. The food was incredibly fresh and simple. Seared bass with a side of vegetables was simply seared in a pan with some butter, lemon and basic herbs. The side of seasonal vegetables was eggplant, zucchini, peppers, sauteed in olive oil light salted. The portion was quite large, a whole bass, filleted. You get both sides of the fish! The Cartoccio, I call it shellfish medley, was also very fresh and simple. It's assortment of shellfish, squid, salmon, cod, potato, tomato, onions baked in some foil with minimal spices and not salty at all. Just bake the fresh seafood, and let the ingredient woah me. Perfect! I'd highly recommend this place. I'm not chatty but I'm sure if you speak to the host he'd be happy to give you all kinds of travel tips on Vienna. I saw him talking to a tourist outside for 20 minutes like they are old friends.

Yes it's pricey but worth it for tourists like me. Definitely check it out if you're in the area. The staff is friendly and will happily answer any questions and point out their suggestions.

The chocolate is still made by the same family that has owned the shop for generations. This chocolate shop has drawers of chocolates to sift through. This used to be a button shop for the royalty. The drawers were full of buttons that the royalty could pick from to be on their clothes. Now the drawers are filled with buttons of delicious chocolates. The staff was extremely helpful and very pleasant. Besides, who could be sour in a chocolate shop. It was some of the best chocolate we have ever had. We are keeping the hot chocolate mix for our trip to Tahoe later this year. It will be a way we can relive our amazing trip. I wanted to say thank you to the staff for being so friendly and helpful in selecting our chocolate. I gave it one Euro sign, but you could easily get carried away in here. We spent over $40 of chocolate because we knew we weren't going to be back anytime soon.

Even if you think you don't know the brand, you might recognize Manner wafers when you see them. Their classic Neapolitan wafers were introduced in 1898 and are hazelnut-cream filled wafers. Josef Manner opened his first stop next to St. Stephen's Cathedral. I'm not sure if the current shop is located in the same place as the original shop, but it's certainly close by (just across from the cathedral). The shop is tiny, but it's well stocked - full of the classic Manner wafers but also additional flavors and a million other items related to Manner. Given the company's history, Manner wafers make a perfect souvenir from a trip to Vienna. Stop by and take some home - whether you love them already or not.

Yelp Review 2023 #268:…read more Every time I or anybody in the family go to a Duty Free shop in Europe, a big box of Manner has to be brought home. Crunchy wafers with chocolate and hazelnut cream in between. Located across from St. Stephen's Cathedral, I had to come visit this shop. You can get Manner in different flavors and shapes, and packaging: giant box, small bag. They have chocolate-covered Manner. So many options I didn't know exist. My mind was definitely blown. Keep in mind, these wafers have a rather short shelf life. Be sure to eat them within 6 months after purchasing them or they'll be expired. I've actually eaten expired Manner before and it was rancid! They also have Mozartkugeln (chocolate ball with marzipan and pistachio in the middle), individually wrapped chocolates and pralines. For serious Manner lovers, you can get liqueur, a t-shirt, a bag, and a hoodie, teddy bear, flash drive, snow globe, and all kinds of little accessories.
