Elders Inn is a well-run family-owned managed business located in Alameda. This facility is a safe, wonderful, engaging place for the residents who live there and for the family/friends who visit them. It is very 'clean' and the residents are cared for appropriately. We have found the staff to be very professional, kind, caring, and attentive to the needs of the residents. The nursing staff does an excellent job in medication management and any other medical issues which may arise. A monthly calendar of events is provided to each resident containing all the daily activities, entertainment, and special events which the residents can optionally attend. We have always felt welcome when visiting. The management and staff have always been responsive to our needs and requests. Sadly, my Aunt and Uncle passed away in January 2024 and October 2018 respectively. The family will 'always' be indebted to Elders Inn for their loving and diligent care! Elders Inn has exceeded our expectations 'in every possible way' by providing quality senior living services and striving to provide 'value' in all that they do for your loved ones! For those reasons, if you are looking for an assisted living facility, I highly recommend without reservation that you consider Elders Inn!

They used bait-and-switch tactics, putting her first in a spacious room to get her to sign up, then moving her to a cold dark room in an isolated part of the building a week in. Her calls for help go unanswered. They won't fix the frigid temperature in room, and she's shivering in her bed under two layers of clothes under her PJs and and electric blanket. Hospice sent a large box of supplies and they left it on the floor of her room, creating a fall hazard. They apparently expect an invalid with a paralyzed arm to put bandages away. Management doesn't reply to concerns. Terrible leadership.

While the care staff was mostly kind, the food decent, and the common areas clean and homey, the administration was cold, unresponsive, and disorganized from start to finish. You can expect rent and care fees to increase by 40% in 6 months. They seem to have no capacity for digital communication and were slow to respond--except when raising prices. I was even mistakenly given another resident's financial and personal information, brushed off as a "mix-up." by the staff Due to their negligence, my mother's move-in date was delayed and I was told that she was "not allowed in the building" a day before. At one point, while I was out of town, she fell and broke her ankle in three places. I was initially told she only had a UTI that needed hospital treatment, it was only later that I found out about the badly broken ankle. Later, she developed pressure sores due to a lack of proper wheelchair cushioning. The day she entered hospice, they informed me same day that her care fees would now be at the maximum rate-- yet meaningful communication on other issues was nonexistent. Even after her passing, the reimbursement process dragged on for six weeks, with no response after multiple follow-ups. A heartbreaking and ironically uncaring experience from start to finish. Would never recommend Lakeside Park to anyone.

On any given day, there are educational activities, exercise classes, book clubs, art classes, daily movies, bingo, 3 meals a day that are delicious and well balanced & a caring nursing staff who seamlessly help each resident that needs it with medications, bumps & bruises and all things involving general well being. My Mother had a recent health scare and the support of the Nursing staff was above and beyond what I thought was possible. The significant care and concern was like she had her family caring for her. I needed advice about help I needed in an area that Alice Home Care did not service and Alice was very helpful with a referral and also helped me with concerns I had with that other agency. The direct care I had with working with Alice Home Care was over the top. We were in the pandemic. My uncle had fallen and had Covid and needed home care. Alice met me at the house and we proceeded to get information from my cousin about what was needed for his father. Then my cousin fell ill during the talk. Alice saw the severity of the situation and brought in help within a couple of hours. This was amazing. And so badly needed. Eventually a longer term solution was found by Alice and the care was used for several months until my uncle moved to assisted living. Alice Home Care came to the rescue, brought in care that the family appreciated, and was very open in communications.

I called Alice after the first week, seeking help with a range of concerns - I could not easily ice the wound on my own. Cooking and even minimal housekeeping were. still impossible. Having support nearby when I began showering felt essential. Alice listened carefully to my needs and hopes and set up a caretaker beginning just two days later. I could not have been more satisfied, my helper was organized, efficient, and very responsive. I felt cared for, the house felt clean and well stocked, she cooked and cleaned up as needed with minimal direction. Highly recommend.
