We have been to several First Watch restaurants in central Florida, and we glad to see one opened up just up the road in Oviedo. We decided to visit on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM, so we figured there would be a wait, but we were seated in about 10 minutes. That's the best part of our visit. The first thing you notice is the volume. This restaurant is LOUD; louder than many local pubs on a Friday night LOUD. One cannot hold a conversation without yelling across the table. When seated, I had a small cup of coffee from the waiting area, so the server immediately brought a full carafe of coffee, and then, without asking for my wife's drink order, he disappeared for about 15 minutes. When someone finally came to get her drink order, we also ordered our breakfast, thinking it might take a few minutes. We were right: it took nearly 30 minutes to get our food. The breakfast looked good, but, it had obviously been sitting for a while, because it was lukewarm. The only thing that seemed to come to our table quickly was the check, which was presented before I could finish my breakfast. No one ever bothered to see if my wife needed a refill. I understand that this is a newly opened restaurant, but slow, almost inattentive, service and lukewarm food are unacceptable for any restaurant. When I paid the check, the cashier asked me how everything was, and I was honest. Slow service and lukewarm food in a LOUD restaurant. She brought the manager over, who offered me some coupons, which I refused, since we don't plan on going back any time soon. I come here every Saturday because my hubby can't live without his biscuits and gravy. We don't go out much in an effort to stay safe during the pandemic, but I feel completely safe coming here because the staff is so conscientious of safety protocol and are always wearing their masks. I never doubt that I will get a delicious breakfast and excellent customer service at this location. read more

I waited 40 minutes and the place was very busy. both entrees were fresh and delicious. We had the trifecta and the barbacoa tacos. ive been goong to this location once a Week for the past 4 weeks trying different entrees. the food is delicious. the syrup for waffles is light and top quality. I made the chickenchanga at home and it was delicious. The cookbook has great recipes of their entrees you can make at home. read more

Today was my third time at this location. I was dissapointed yet again. The service was ridiculously slow. It was a 30 minute wait which is understandable for a Sunday. When I did sit down it took another hour and a half for a simple order of eggs and bacon with a waffle. When they did finally bring out my food I had to wait another 15 minutes for my side of toast making my eggs cold. A simple breakfast for 2 was 40.00. I get it is quality food but it is nothing special. If I am going to pay 40.00 for a simple breakfast I at least expect exceptional service like their other locations. I do not intend to go back. At this price point and lack of service I would rather cook at home. read more

I'm now a Big fan. . . BIG. . . VERY big! This was my first visit to this new location and while looking over the menu, the selections seemed a bit different (i've only been to a couple of other locations in the past), but it was creatively interesting. Nothing is better, to me, than Eggs Benedict IF it's done well. After considering a couple of other items, I finally settled on the Eggs Benedict and of the 3 or 4 versions, I chose the BLT. The description sounded interesting and man was it GOOD. The Hollandaise sauce was amazing - just the perfect hint of lemon. It was so good that I thought about it for the next 24 hours - and still am. Will definitely will be back. Service was top notch, we were seated quickly, really comfortable and attractive environment, food was delivered fairly efficiently, and cost was average - not higher end as I would have expected with it being new and with a more creative menu. This will definitely be our breakfast spot from this point forward. . . Only giving it 4 stars, but it's just shy of a 5 star. . . barely! read more

I will not be going back to First Watch! The water glasses were dirty and the coffee mugs had lipstick stains on them, and who knows if the dishes were even thoroughly clean. The table didn't look clean. The outdoor seating area looks drab and unclean. I will definitely not be eating there nor recommending it to anyone. read more

We had such a fabulous experience at the Wheelhouse Ln, Lake Mary location that we decided to go to the Mitchell Hammock, Oviedo location. Our waiter was very good! However, the cooking staff needs to be replaced. Quality was distinctly lower grade, and I took one bite of the Florentine Benedict, and had to have them redo it, as it was completely cold, and the sauce was congealing in places. I have been dining at different First Watch locations for over 18 years so clearly I enjoy their food. I frequented their University location for years and was thrilled we were finally getting one in Oviedo. I have been to this location about 8 times and can honestly say the quality and quantity of the food keeps going down. Today's visit was the worst so far. The bacon in the bacado omelette was really undercooked, there was too much cheese and not much avocado. In short, it really didn't taste like the bacado that I know and love. The pancakes have gotten smaller over the years but have still been tasty. Today the blueberry was missing something and the banana crunch was served broken. Neither one looked very good. Service was great! The manager came over to make things right which was greatly appreciated. I will come back because I know they can do better...and I normally love their food. read more

I LOVE First Watch and this location is now my favorite one. I actually came here about 6 months ago and had a HORRIBLE experience. I can't remember the name of our server, but she was young with very long black hair, and looked just miserable the be there, she was very dry when engaging with me, and she seemed to give me an attitude everytime I asked her a question or needed something, such as ketchup or the sugar free syrup I requested, or the drink refill that I never got; so needless to say, I didn't come back for awhile. But just a few days ago, I decided to give it another try and I am so glad I did! I was welcomed in and greeted right away by lots of smiles. Our server, Lauren walked us back to a table and made wonderful conversation about the new menu items with us while walking instead of just rushing ahead and dropping menus down. And her excellence continued throughout the whole experience. She was so friendly, upbeat, and engaging, she even cracked a few jokes that made us all laugh; more then I could ever do at 815 in the morning, but it was contagious! We never had to ask for a refill, she kept our table clean, and we could see she had at least 3 or 4 other tables to take care of, on top of helping getting food to other tables...we even saw her cleaning other tables and checking people out at the register at one point, yet she STILL made us feel like a priority and gave us a flawless experience, with a smile on her face the entire time! The food looked and tasted fresh and amazing; I had a bite from everyone's plate, so big shout out to the cooks doing their thing back there too! I'm guessing management made some changes since my first visit, and it really paid off so keep up the good work! I even noticed several of the servers were greeting and saying goodbye to their customers by name, which I Just love to see that family kind of atmosphere. 10/10 I will most definitely be coming back! read more

We have been going to the FW on University for several years and were excited to have this FW in our area. We were disappointed upon our first experience today. Pros: It's close to Oviedo, it's brand new, upgraded flat wear and plates, staff was nice. Cons: Loud inside (only 20 people in the place today) due to extremely high ceilings and hard surfaces - waitress commented that on a busy day it's hard to hear in the place, more of a "barn" feel than the more "intimate" feel of the FW on University, outside seating is alongside the parking lot facing Mitchell Hammock - not really a nice atmosphere for outdoor dining, prices seem higher, food quality not as good as the store on University. We know the pricing at FW but this menu seemed to be higher and was evident by our tab - $32 without tip for breakfast for two. We had a tea and a coffee, one order of eggs benedict (with the salmon - up charge $2), and the BLT benedict. Food was lukewarm at best, muffin underneath a bit over toasted, and a small pile of greens, no toast, no potatoes. We have always come prepared with a cooler for our to-go box as the servings have always been plentiful. The servings here are much smaller so we ate all and were not over filled. Adding the 15% gratuity puts breakfast at $37! Quite high for a breakfast. Everything is at least $10 per entree. Will not be going back here but will rather visit Metro Diner for a better breakfast at a much more reasonable cost. Sorry FW, you just don't measure up................. read more

My husband and I come here every Sunday. Good food and a fair price. Staff is always friendly. They tend to be busy so if waiting isn't your thing I would recommend going during a nonpeek time. The wait doesn't bother us so we keep coming back the food is worth it. read more

First time eating at First Watch-ever. Came at 9 am on a Wednesday with my family. There were less than 10 tables filled. We waited 5 minutes for someone to notice we were waiting at the hostess stand. Then another 10 minutes once seated for a server to come to the table. During this time my father laid his arm on the table to find it was covered in syrup. When server finally came to the table he immediately asked for a towel to clean up. She said "sure" then proceeded to take drink orders-took everyone's order but mine, asked if we were ready to order food & walked away when we said we were not. 5 minutes later she returned with a large container of luke warm tap water & walked away. No towel to clean the table. No coffee. No glasses to pour our own water. I found two glasses that were left at the table. Hoping they were clean I poured myself a glass of water since I still hadn't been able to place a drink order. Another 5 minutes go by & she finally returns with coffee. Pours 4 of us a half a cup which emptied the pot she brought with her. She tried to leave to fetch more coffee but we asked to place our orders first. She took orders and did come back promptly with the 2nd pot of coffee. Our food arrived quickly also. Well, the 4 omelets & platters that others ordered did. My simple scrambled eggs and "Million Dollar Bacon" did not. You guessed it, another 5 minutes goes by and out comes my cold egg (only 1 scrambled when I asked for 2) and bacon so burnt that it crumbled like charcoal when I picked it up. Server never returned to check on us so I couldn't complain and by the time we got a bill (after asking another server) it was too late to wait for more food. We had an appointment to get to. My mother paid the bill & we left. Overall this tops my list of poor restaurant experiences. Haven't decided yet if we'll try again - especially after seeing recent reviews similar to mine. read more

Fantastic, high quality food in a clean and airy setting. I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm visiting Orlando from California, and most of the restaurant meals here have been brown affairs -- all meat and starch, very few vegetables. This place serves food that is more like what I get in California -- fresh, colorful, and flavorful. Service was friendly and prompt, too! The group of us ordered: green tea matcha pancakes (tender, perfect crumb, lightly topped with Greek yogurt and granola crumbles), a side of turkey sausage, french toast (tender, lightly battered, perfectly, lighly brown, covered in chopped fruit), eggs Benedict (poached eggs in a light lemony hollandaise, layers of ham, on a piece of toasted baguette, side of lighly dressed baby greens), Florentine eggs Benedict (the same, with spinach instead of ham), chicken chimichurri hash (incredible mix of small pieces of white meat chicken, Monterey Jack cheese, scrambled eggs, on top of home fries (perfectly tender potatoes, browned onions) with just warmed kale, all with a tangy chimichurri sauce on it). Everything was well plated, seasoned and presented. Beverages: iced tea and coffee, acai blend and one cup of hot coffee, nice flavors, and fresh. Service: they only seem to hire good looking people to wait tables. Price: more than reasonable for the excellent quality and quantity. I look forward to seeing First Watch open in California. I was part of the brunch crowd on a Wednesday. The best food ever. The honey salad was a 5 star. Get the salad with a half sandwich and it's even better. The atmosphere was lunch specific with a little noise but expected with the crowd size. The staff was the best with gracious smiles and a delightful spirit. They wanted to serve you. The blacken sweet tea with a pinch of raw sugar on the table gives it a special taste like no other. The people in Oviedo were extremely polite as they waited at the door to be seated and a pleasant to be around. My only suggestion would be to have the check out person assigned to just that, because the check out line was backed up and the young lady couldn't pay attention to the empty tables and check out people wanting to pay. We waited a lot longer to be seated because the checked line kept getting longer and longer. This meant, it was an ever ending wait because no one was watching the empty tables and seating us. I give it a 4 star because it's a great place for tasteful food. Also the 1/2 sandwiches are very meaty compared to Panera Bread that only gives you a sliver of meat. First watch reminds me of a dignified a Jason's deli with a large twist of sassy class....you will not regret your visit. I've been 3x in the last three weeks.. The next visit will hopefully be a 5 star if someone pays attention to the guest waiting to be seated. They too may be on the clock. Everyone is not retired...lol read more

Will never go back to this location again. Came on Saturday. Waited 25 min for a table and it wasn't even busy. My food took almost 30 min and it came cold. My omelette was brown and over cooked but cold? How does that even make sense. Clearly it must have sat in the window for a while. I never saw a manger the whole time. Nobody came back to check on us. The girl dropped the bill and I told her about my omelette. She asked if I wanted a new one. At this point I was over it. Nothing was taken off my Bill. Nobody said goodbye when we left. Terrible customer service. We will go back to the Waterford lakes location next time. Sorry Oviedo you blew it. read more

Probably one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I've had in a while.. once we sat down we waited 10 minutes for our server, then after than we got our drinks and waited another 10 minutes until another server came up and took our order because we were not given the opportunity to order when our drinks were first delivered and then waited 40 minutes for the most unimpressive food and portions.
