This is my go to spot after a hard rigorous workout at the The gym. We'd love to come here. We've been to this location as well as the new location opened on Johnson ferry Road in Marietta and the food is always amazing. I definitely recommend logging onto the site and doing a pre-check in on the way there so your head of the list if it's on an early brunch time. The service is always amazing. The food is always served. Well hot absolutely in love. Order the pancake as a side it's literally the size of an entire dinner plate so fluffy perfection with the crispy edges that I recommended The bacon as a side is perfectly crisp not oily amazing. I always get the frittata. It's always delicious baked with perfect peppers and seasoning. My husband decided to have the Belgian waffles instead of his normal pancakes and he was happy with his order The coffee is always served. When First Watch opened,b they had the best coffee I had ever tasted. Today the coffee has a bitter taste. I had to add a little sugar just to drink it. We have been here several times. Food is good, however, service has always been impersonal and sub par until yesterday!! MITZY was awesome. Our middle guy loves million dollar bacon and for his birthday he wanted that for breakfast! So there we went. Wow this place has really gone downhill. Earlier this year, I got a to go order and they screwed that up so bad it went right in the trash. So, I decided to dine again recently. The food was so salty I could barely eat it (I had the seasonal bacon hash). They should really call it Hash with 2 pieces of bacon - what overpriced garbage. My husband's entree was not much better. He said the eggs tasted like they were poured from the carton (not the fresh ones I'd come to expect from First Watch). The best thing about this place is the fresh juices they have and the only thing we enjoyed. Went for breakfast this morning for the first time at this location. The first thing my wife and I noticed was how unwelcoming the hostess was, no good morning, no smile, no greeting at all. She just assume there was 2 of us, grabbed 2 menus, and began walking. A greeting of some sort would have been nice though. Our waitress thankfully was pleasant and attentive. The menu had a decent selection of eggs and griddle choices, and coffee was served in thermal carafes reminiscent of IHOP (which I prefer over First Watch). The dining room was large and spacious with a nice loft like feel though the hard wooden chair surfaces weren't all that comfortable. The wide open room while looking nice, did result in a louder noise level that we prefer though appealing to the eye. Our breakfasts were good, not great. The highlights of our meals were the toast which was thick, crispy, buttered, and served with a tasty preserve compote. The Hash browns were cooked to perfection with a mix of crispy and soft potato cubes griddle cooked with a nice balance of onions mixed in. Breakfast for 2 with only one coffee came to $34 before tip which seemed a bit pricey for what we got. Overall, decent but not great, especially with the non welcoming hostess. Prefer IHOP and Reveille Cafe far above this First Watch Sandy Plains location. read more

I finally had the opportunity to try First Watch and it was good. My group showed up at a really busy time but lucked out and were seated immediately as there was 1 table open. Service was a bit slower but given that it was a full house, we just enjoyed our visit and perused the menu. I started with the morning meditation juice which is a blend of orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar and beet. It was colorful, slightly sweet and slightly healthy. I then ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes. It came out with 2 large, fluffy pancakes and a nice dollop of lemon curd and fresh cut strawberries on top. The lemon flavor was sweet and a little tart. Love this place! I've been here on several occasions prior to reviewing. This is my favorite location because of the service. We came in on a snowy Sunday and there wasn't a crowd!! You know us southerners will stay in the house real quick when there's snow in sight! Lol. But glad we got to take advantage of it. I typically get the AM Superfood Bowl. Packed with flavors of greatness! Chia seed pudding, bananas, raspberries and strawberries, mixed berry compote, housemade granola with almonds. Served within whole grain artisan toast with almond butter and sea salt. The toast is sooo good! I asked for it without salt because they aren't consistent with the smooth that they add. If it's just a sprinkle then it's the perfect combination but there have been times when it was way too much. I'd probably get it in the side moving forward. read more

I went to this location because it is close to a friend i wanted to take out for lunch. I monitor my blood sugar and eat very low carb so I went to their website first to see what was on the menu. The website allows you to add and subtract ingredients in order to make the meals fit your way of eating. For instance the "Healthy Turkey" was over 50 carbs, but if you subtract the bread, the carb count goes down to 6. That makes a huge difference for someone like me, i wish other restaurants would do this. I had the healthy turkey without the bread and was really very pleased. My friend got the eggs, bacon, and potatoes breakfast. She was happy too. Our waiter was helpful and everyone was friendly. The place was clean. It was a little loud, but we were able to hear each other. I would definitely go back if I was in that part of town again. read more

This place has so much potential. The brand is ideal for East Cobb and the location is very convenient. We've eaten here more than a dozen times and love the food, which is consistently delicious. The servers are courteous and very nice. The challenge is always the wait. Weekend brunch waits are expected, but this place has a problem bussing tables and turning over those tables for the next guests. There is no sense of urgency, and no obvious leadership or front of the house management. On several occasions, we've seen parties leave because of long wait times in front of un-bussed, dirty tables. We've seen multiple booths sit empty and dirty for 30-45 minutes before getting attention. It is not acceptable, and this restaurant could be making money hand over fist if they'd just hire a competent front of the house leader and two more people to bus tables. It's a shame that East Cobb restaurants can't get it together sometimes. read more

We came on a Tuesday afternoon so there was a lot of available seating. The interior was nice and spacious. We got the steak and bacon burrito, an omelette, tomato basil soup, and morning meditation. The steak and bacon burrito had nice flavoring overall but only had a few bacon and steak pieces. It was mostly potatoes inside. The side of potatoes we got were pretty salty. And unfortunately tomato basil soup was a little too sour for our liking. We enjoyed the morning meditation and really wanted to try the Purple Haze but didn't have room for more drinks since we also got a cup of coffee. read more

This is our second time to First Watch. Let me just say, at the beginning here, that both times we went was during the work week and late morning. That being said, we were sat immediately both times and were asked what our drink order would be as we sat down. Because I am a mom of young children and because we dont get but maybe a 1/2 cup of coffee during the early morning chaos that is getting kids out the door, both my husband and I ordered coffee and waters. We love that they leave the pitcher of coffee on the table and will refill it when asked (we asked the first time we came here, thankfully today didnt need it refilled). The first time I had the Frittata Rustica. Yum, just the right amount of mushrooms and greens. Their potatoes arent bad (for those that are potato aficionados...you know how sometimes you can go to a breakfast place and their potatoes are 100% from a bag? These at least tasted like the put seasoning and crisped them up enough). My husband got the Bacado Omelette. He said it was really good? I didnt try it, but it looked delicious. I think it was the pico...I am a sucker for anything fresh on an omelette. This time I had the Elevated Egg Sandwich. I asked for the egg to be cooked a little longer and the kitchen staff/chefs seemed to have honored my request. I always hate asking for things to be altered from the menu, even something like cook time, but it went off without a hitch today. The egg sandwich is a little like something I would have gotten at Highland Bakery with avocado added and that, my friends, is a plus. HB uses fresh Sourdough or Rustic bread....First Watch uses a brioche bun. It was quite good. My husband got the Chorizo Omelette this time. He said the chorizo was good, but there was too much onion involved with the whole thing...I know they had pico again on top and I guess there was onion in the omelette. When asked, he said the Bacado all the way... The servers all had masks on when I went both times. I did see some sliding down their faces, but ours made sure they were placed correctly when they came to our table. I havent tried any of the alcoholic drinks OR juices...maybe the next time I come. I am happy we found this place. It's like Eggs Up (which I LOVE A LOT dont get me wrong), but stylish. Makes me feel like we're on a breakfast date and not just eating breakfast in our usual haunts. Oh and I was reading on the menu about the "Million Dollar Bacon"...my husband doesnt like all that stuff added to it, but all I could think was "what if it was served with a homemade creamy style peanut butter?" Finally had the opportunity to check out the new First Watch that opened up on Sandy Plains. We were able to grab outdoor seating which was a nice setup. I ordered the Chickichanga and was very pleased with it. It consisted of whipped eggs with spicy chicken, chorizo sausage, green chilies, cheese, onions and avocado rolled in a flour tortilla and served with fresh fruit and seasoned potatoes. I also tried the blueberry pancake but was not overly impressed with it. Regardless, I would recommend trying the Chickichanga and its great flavors. read more

I've always enjoyed dining here. However, I've noticed when this place is busy the food comes out lukewarm. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue or what but it's always lukewarm when they are busy. I know the food is fresh, but I just wish it was hot when they bring it out. I do like that they have interesting cocktails for brunch, but they're a bit pricey...like cocktail club pricey. I first saw introduced to first watch at the location in Smyrna. I always had an affinity for their skillet hash. I was very happy that a location was opening lose to my house, because we have maybe 2-3 options for brunch without having to drive over 15 minutes. Due to covid, they did have limited capacity seating and require patrons to wear masks, except when seated, which was a relief. I would also like to report that the stuff was wearing masks and gloves as well. The service was good. Our server was attentive and very friendly. I asked his opinion on two options I was considering...the bacado omelette or the breakfast tacos. You see, tacos are my spirit animal and the fact that they had that as option was enough for me to award them 5 cool points! I ordered the tacos and my son had the traditional breakfast. I had coffee as well, which ironically tasted better when I took some to go (who knew). The tacos had chicken chorizo sausage, scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, and avocado. I was full after eating one and half of the tacos! They also came with a side of black beans which were delicious and hot! What I enjoyed most, besides the food of course, was the quiet atmosphere. We were seated by the kitchen so we did hear all of the background noise and times, but that was okay. They did have an outdoor option for patrons as well. You pay the cashier as you leave. All in all, I'll definitely be visiting this location again. I want to get the avocado toast...another favorite of mine! read more

Here's why I'm giving one of my favorite restaurants a 1 review: * Endangering my 3yr old daughter * Condescending & Rude staff * Indifferent & complacent management * Repeated attempts to resolve Here's the detailed account (including what I sent to the GM before posting this) for those that want to know... Endangering my daughter was the last straw. Some reviews are sad to write because you really hoped that things could be different and since what happened was witnessed by other employees and the GM still justifies what happened, we won't be back! What makes writing this review sad is that my family loved this place and my 3yr old daughter still believes they have the best waffles in the world. For years we were regulars at this restaurant. However, because of a very unsafe encounter with Chris (one of their employees - as of 8/19/22) we will not be returning to First Watch again. I have waited to write this in hopes the GM (Dave) would take appropriate action. On our last visit 2 weeks ago he carelessly endangered the welfare of my daughter by holding hot skillets over her head, while she was in a high-chair. - if the plates are hot and heavy enough you need oven mitts, and your arms are shaking while holding them, THEN they are also TOO hot and TOO heavy to EVER be holding over the head of a toddler in a high-chair! He was doing this while trying to figure out who had which meal, and when my mother (calmly & politely - as to not startle him or my daughter) pointed it out and asked him to please not hold hot plates over her granddaughter, he was extremely condescending and rude to my mother by replying, "And how else am I supposed to give you your meals? Where else do you want me to hold plates?" Is finding good people really that hard that we have to put up with people like this? Sadly, he (Chris) has historically been the rudest and most incompetent waiter I've ever met - since we first had the unpleasant experience of meeting him years ago when he was at Old Charley's (where he likely got fired) and then later at Chicagos (where he also likely got fired). He is genuinely not a happy person - and doesn't seem to like people at all. First Watch does very well so they may not care to lose regulars like us. However as a business owner myself, I felt compelled to make the GM aware of our experience and concerns. --------------------------------- Funny/Sad story about Chris that I sent to the GM. --------------------------------- I just stopped by to today to see if Chris was still employed. When I walked in, I was pleasantly greeted by some ladies at the register. I asked "Is there a Chris that works here?" There were 3 ladies up front and they asked, "Which one? We had 2, but one left." I said, "He is older with glasses." They said, "They are both older. But one walked with a little limp." I replied, "I never noticed the limp. The one I'm referring to is rude to everyone and has an attitude." They all started laughing and chimed in, "Oh yeah! That one. He's still here, but he's not working today if you want to avoid him." I let them know that I wanted to bring people here today but wanted to make sure he doesn't work here. They assured me that they understand but he's not working today. I told them, "No thanks. I've let the management know I won't spend money with companies that employee people like Chris." They said, "Oh l, we understand. But at least he's not here today." I just thought people reading this review should know that everyone who works there knows what Chris is like so much, that in front of other customers, they openly told me that he's rude to everyone. Again, I ask is finding good people really that hard that we have to put up with people like this? read more

First, I have always enjoyed the food here. Good sized portions, cooked well and flavorful. Table service is always good, polite and helpful. But there are two things they need to work on. First is the acoustics. While it's a cool looking environment , the open ceiling makes conversation challenging. This is a complaint I have heard from quite a few people. Secondly, they need to manage their wait times better. I was unaware of their call ahead seating but we were told the wait time would be about 20 minutes which seemed reasonable. 45 minutes later we still were waiting and we were told the call aheads had to take priority. Looking around the room there were at least five open tables and many customers waiting to be seated. I am sure they can do better than this! read more

My husband and I came for the first time on a Saturday morning at about 9:30. There was no wait, but you can save your spot in 'line' using their app. Very quick and easy process, socially distanced seating inside. Highlights: +Pumpkin Pancakes were delicious!!! It was just one giant pancake. Great flavor and texture (not too sweet) served with warm butter and syrup (on the side). The chicken sausage had great flavor too. +Farmhouse hash was great. My husband enjoyed it all. Unfortunately, the fruit cup side had some old pineapple, so really he just ate the grapes. +Coffee is good (not bitter) & supports a good cause. However creamer is not fresh surprisingly (just small plastic cups). This kind of ruined the coffee so would recommend just having it black. +Morning meditation juice was tasty, but too sweet and we couldn't finish it. I'd prefer it without agave. Beautiful color in the glass though! We really enjoyed it overall and there's a lot of selection on the menu. Will definitely go back! read more

Our experience was not good. We placed an order over the phone, was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. Long story short my fiancé ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes because they didn't put the right name on the bag.... I mean what they wrote isn't even a name. "Lmilia" is what was scribbled down, his name is London. (Whoever took our order did not ask him to repeat his name or spell it out either) Nothing was done on the hostess's part once he arrived. He said she just stared at him... He had to ask her to go check with the kitchen to make sure they received his order (she said they did but they were just busy) He noticed a to-go bag that had been there a while and he had to walk over and turns out our order was sitting there the entire time!!! She could have asked what he ordered or even acknowledged him and his frustration..The worst part is we get the food home an hour after we ordered it..and it's just okay. The million dollar bacon was decent, the French toast was good after we re-heated it, and the Purple Haze drink was fantastic. The chickichanga was absolutely awful though. I have no idea what that sauce is supposed to be on top but it was NOT good and did not complement the flavors. The potatoes tasted like they had celery salt on them..? And there were no eggs to be found in the dish except a thin layer spread along the inside of the tortilla... I'm talking THIN..it was just meat and cheese and hot avocado.. super heavy and overall just not a well thought out dish. I would like to give this place another chance as we live 5 minutes away, but I'm really put off by our first experience. read more
