I've had breakfast here before and was please with my food. This time I got millionaires bacon. It used to be thick sliced and coated in brown sugar - this time the bacon was so thin you could see through the bacon and had very little brown sugar on it. Not worth the price for better than four dollars per strip. The food took about 45 minutes to get to the table. They open at 7:00AM and it was like the workers didn't arrive until 6:55 AM to prepare to open. To make matters worst - no coffee refill. I want be back!!!! read more

I've eaten here a handful of times and it has never been outstanding. The prices are far too high for what you get.

My wife and I ate at first watch in Destin four times last week. Every day it was great. We were in Birmingham and thought we would try this one. I had the pork belly and grits, the flavor was very good but the thick cut pork belly was more like thin cut bacon. My wife had a " fresh baked muffin". Not only was the muffin cold but the plate it was on was even colder, like it had just came out of the refrigerator. She sent it back and got a piece of toast, that was her breakfast. I am giving it three stars for the flavor and service. The fresh baked muffin in Destin was so hot it would melt the butter that was sitting on the plate with it! Hoover needs to get with it, I would like to go back and hope I can. read more

My heart was set on a different restaurant but they are closed for maintenance right now so I ended up here. My first visit since it changed to First Watch, but I was not disappointed in service or food. I had coffee and water and the pitchers are left on the table for your own refill. The coffee creamer is the small prepackaged type, and I'd rather have real half & half but that's my only complaint. I had the elevated egg sandwich. The bacon was crispy, the over easy egg was drippy like I like it, the avocado was fresh and the arugula was a nice peppery touch. I also enjoyed the breakfast potatoes in the side. This was a great mid morning meal after a fasting lab for the doctor. I will not need lunch and I should not be hungry for a long time today. The service was attentive and friendly, not too much or too little either. I will return to First Watch if I need a hearty and yummy breakfast in the future. read more

I want to love this place, but I can't, because it's REALLY hard for me to eat here! We came back just a couple of weeks ago. Asked for a gluten free menu, and again was told they don't have one. I tried to look online, but it's impossible to see what's gf on mobile. No gluten free menu, as you can see I was told when I was there June 2016. On the other hand, the food is really good! Very disappointed. We have been going to The Egg and I ever since it opened. The staff has been there for both of my pregnancies and know my boys by name...It was our Sunday morning tradition. No more. Said goodbye to Jason and have found a new breakfast place. Examples of why we left.. Plain coffee for my husband, no rainforest bold, no hikers Benedict, fewer breakfast options..$10 plain egg white omelette for me with no sides, vs the yummy artichoke, tomato and onion with ranch potatoes and toast. Soggy pancakes that were not even in the cute shape for my 3 year old. He asks almost every day "where egg and I go? I would please like potatoes".. OK 2 stars seems really bad but Yelp says that it is Meh - I've had better, and I have. It would seem all of the Egg and I restaurants in town have changed over to First Watch. The place was clean. Staff was friendly. After a long wait I realized we hadn't spoken to anyone as in no one had taken our drink order yet. We finally got a waitress. Drinks where handed out and orders where made. The food was bland. It looked good and smelled good but it was very bland. The bill was pretty high for what it was. I wont be back. I'm not mad at them it just isn't for me. They are usually pretty crowded so someone likes them but not me. read more

Solid breakfast. The AB&J waffle was great and a good portion. Coffee is self serve from a table pot which was hot and good. Bf had the croque madame it was huge and he enjoyed it but truthfully one piece of bread would be enough. Service was good and just right. there's bacon, and then there's million dollar bacon. i finally decided to give @first.watch a try. this place has been suggested many times by a friend of ours, so today my girls and i said, why not ‍. i'll just say that if first watch is indicative of @cherylstephens9117 normal cuisine, then i'll take her suggestion every time. first the bacon...because it was my favorite. the million dollar bacon is their signature hardwood smoked bacon baked with brown sugar, cayenne, hot pepper, and maple syrup. if you're a bacon lover, you MUST try this. it's like no bacon i've ever had before. it has just enough heat from the cayenne to balance the sweetness of the maple syrup and brown sugar. it truly speaks to your soul. it was hard choosing something to eat because everything sounds so delicious. i chose the smoked salmon tzatziki toast because the salmon lover in me felt i needed to try it first. overall, i was very satisfied. whole grain artisan toast is topped with wild alaska smoked sockeye salmon, tzatziki cream cheese, english cucumbers, radish, red onions, feta, and fresh dill. it's just right if you're looking for a light, yet filling meal. there's so much more that i want to try so i'll likely be back before the week out. thanks cheryl for the suggestion and next time we won't wait so long to go! read more

I don't know what time is best to line up for breakfast but we have tried before and it was too long of a wait. Luckily we finally got to go and were immediately sat! (I will now wait if I have to) My eggs were perfect and the homemade hash had the perfect blend of onions, bell peppers, and cheese. I was worried I would get a bland sausage. That was not the case. The sausage made the dish. It had a wonderful flavor that made me keep eating the dish long after my stomach said "no more!". The service was really good as well. We will be going back! read more

I really wanted to like this place as I was a big fan of Egg and I, but it is not to be. First off if you're not a fan of avocado good luck finding anything without it. Cuts your menu choices in half from the start. I thought I'd be safe going with the Classic Eggs Benedict, but no such luck. All of the food for the table was almost cold when it arrived. My poached eggs might as well have been hard boiled. The hollandaise was nearly tasteless, and all served over untoasted ciabatta bread. It really was more like a dry open face sandwich than a benedict of any sort. We ran out of iced tea early on, but had no luck finding our waitress for refills until she came to clear plates and give us the check. Would not recommend. Me and my wife just finished our first experience at the First Watch Daytime Cafe, and I am nothing short of impressed. Exceptional food and service, in an atmosphere that was not overstimulating or bland, and right about the time I was wondering if the food was going to take a long time, it arrived at our table. I had the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Power Bowl, which went perfect with a squeeze of lemon (which was provided on the side of the bowl), and I added one of their *humongous* Carrot Cake pancakes on the side (I did not know what I was getting my stomach into). My wife had the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, which she loved and came with a salad on the side that I got a taste of and quite enjoyed. On top of that, the coffee was excellent and I grabbed a bag on my way out. To those wondering whether to come to this cafe, let me say a few things: 1. This is not a "fancy" restaurant, and if that is what you want, this is not your prime choice. That being said, it is obvious this was not the intent of this restaurant and that is nothing to hold against them. 2. You WILL be greeted by smiling faces while you are walking in, if not at the door. 3: If you order pancakes, I hope you love pancakes, because they are huge. 4: The staff is very attentive, so be prepared to be visited several times by two or three people, who are exceptionally friendly and willing to help you with any request. To sum this up, me and my wife have found our new breakfast spot, and are planning on introducing it to others. I left the restaurant with about a 40 dollar check, despite adding more food than I needed and some coffee to take home, so the price was more than reasonable. First time to eat at this location, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. A family sitting at the table next to us complained about somebody ordering before them so the staff went out of their way to please them. This was in complete disregard of the rest of the tables. We had to stop people to ask for water. The food took more than an hour. One of our plates had hair in it and the eggs were over cooked. The manager should have at least touched the other tables around the disgruntled customers. read more

I ordered the eggs Benedict. It was good but the hollandaise sauce had a strong lemon flavor and my eggs were a little over cooked. My husband ordered an omelette he said it was nothing special and had a lot of onions. Our bill ended up being $43 so it's pretty pricey. read more

We enjoy First Watch every time we go. They have some menu options that you just don't see other places, but you can still get some traditional breakfast offerings as well. Not the typical eggs and bacon breakfast or brunch. The variety is wonderfully engaging, but still , just the roast is worth the visit.
