I love coming here for breakfast. My daughter loves this place too. The food is always awesome, the service is always good too. They get packed on weekend mornings by 9 am, so you want to go early or later close to end of lunch time on weekends. All their egg dishes are good. I love their pancakes too, big and fluffy and a variety to choose from. I used to love their Chickichanga up until they changed the hollandaise sauce. The Ham and Gruyere sandwich is delicious as well. They have some good salads, but I find their dressings are always very sweet. This is my defacto breakfast place. read more

I go here roughly once a week if I can. It's location is great for me. It's a nice, relaxing way to start a day: A pot of coffee, or a day glow juice, and something yummy. I've had almost everything that doesn't have meat in it. If it does have meat I substitute fruit or potatoes. They're always super nice about it. The folks there are aces! I recently tried their lunch (veggie grill sandwich). Mmmmm, mmm. Their Market Hash is yummy too. I miss the pumpkin pancake with real pumpkin, no flavoring bs. I have yet to try their waffles and some of this recent specials. read more

Love the location in Rockville and decided to try the Gaithersburg one since it's closer to home. Pro's: -Quick and friendly service -Call ahead seating/reservation -Bright and cute ambiance -Lot's of variety between healthy eating breakfast/lunch to comfort foods -Pancakes were moist and huge! -Omelets were large and filled with everything I had asked for -The food tasted fresh and not overly salted -Kid friendly -Clean bathrooms -Offers fresh juice (i.e. Kale tonics and pineapple coolers) -Pay up front when you're ready, no need to wait for the server to return -Ton's of gluten free and healthy options Con's: -Place does get busy on the weekends especially brunch time. Call ahead to have your name be put on the waiting list -Large parking lot but fills quickly -Closes at 2:30pm :-( Will return again! read more

First watch was not what I was expecting at all. I actually thought it was a bank while driving by. My brother discovered it was a breakfast spot so we decided to give it a try. Great food, exceptional service. Katerina was our server. Not only did she provide excellent service she was a funny too. My brother and I both had the Trifecta (he had the chocolate chip pancakes and I stayed with the plain) which were fantastic! He equally enjoyed the coffee. Oh and their water is served in carafes which was a bonus for me as I wasn't looking for any additional liquid calories. Nice interior, all in all a wonderful experience. We'll be back! read more

This is a great breakfast/brunch spot in a relatively quiet shopping center. The menu has a good variety of both basic breakfast foods and salads and sandwiches. I've only been here for breakfast but have really enjoyed it - during my most recent visit, I ordered the avocado, bacon and tomato hash, which was 2 eggs on top of a mix of potatoes and the like. It was the perfect amount of food for breakfast but could have used more avocado. Another nice touch is that they operate "diner-style" so our waiter put my group's foods on separate checks without asking. Keep in mind that it's only open until 2:30pm each day, so don't come too late in the day! read more

Got here for Sunday brunch around 10, and there was a good 30 min wait. While you are waiting, you can treat yourself to some coffee and take some time to check out the menu. I got the avocado, bacon & tomato hash with scrambled eggs on the side. It kind of tasted like those TGI Fridays potato skins, which I didn't mind because I love those! My only critique is that I with it came with some more avocado. I know avocados are a bit pricey but 3 small slivers didn't really do much for me. The hash also comes with some fruit (grapes and pineapple) in a cup and English muffin toasted with strawberry preserve jam. For about $10, it was a surprisingly filling meal. I will definitely be back for brunch again! Maybe try to come earlier or later to avoid a long wait. read more

Favorite brunch spot for any day of the week. Simple, casual and comfortable with no hustle or bustle. I have brought many of my family and friends here. They all love it and look forward to going back very soon. I come here regularly on Mondays and Wednesday and always sit with Marc if he's working. Marc is always smiling and super friendly making the visit wonderful whenever I go. The kale tonic and orange day glow is refreshing and delicious. Both drinks is a great way to eat more fruit and vegetables. I love that they have different types of hashes and omelets to satisfy any cravings. Marc is always nice to remind me that I can add or take out other ingredients to make it my own. The pancakes are great to share since they are huge and the coffee never fails to disappoint. read more

Fresh and healthy food! Good service! And from my observation only, it looks like they have a good recruiting plan, making fair and ageism-free working environment! read more

Right now, a little crowded inside considering covid. Squeezing by multiple groups of ppl waiting to be seated to put in an order. I would be nervous to sit in and eat given number of ppl inside. Food is a 40 minute wait which is long but not unheard of (the food is good if willing to wait). I would not go in at all if not vaccinated. Uber eats says it's closed even though it's open (looks like it's misconfigured) so have to drive here to order/pickup. read more

I have been procrastinating for months on First Watch and finally decided to give it a try. The food was great, I wasn't too much of a fan of the potatoes, but everything else was amazing. The pancakes are huge, topped off with butter and served with a jelly that was out of this world. Hubby had a waffle with his and really enjoyed it, and our son tore up his plate, too: eggs, tons of bacon, and an English muffin. I only took a star away because they don't offer refills on your drinks, accept water, but the service and food made up for it. We will be back. read more

Continue recommend stopping here. Visited 19-Oct still great service and foot was excellent. Tried the breakfast tacos this time. Stop here! Great selections and excellent service. Tried the specials in the photos and they did not disappoint. Manager was having a bad beginning of his day, but he didn't show it...stepped up and got things done. Had a great birthday breakfast thanks to this place! Normally go to the ROCKVILLE location but we will be alternating from this one to that one in the future. Love the food! Bunch of healthy options which is fantastic. Coffee not so good but the food is incredible if you are health conscious

We arrived on a early Saturday afternoon and there was a 45 minute wait for private seating. There were plenty of seats at the community table. What we didnt know is that we could have put our party on the list while enroute to the location as they are on OpenTable. Visiting for the first time, I really enjoyed the overall theme of the cafe, seating arrangements, and the minimal country decor. The menu is straightforward, designed well, refreshing, and natural. I ordered a Kale Tonic, Market Hash, Million Dollar Bacon, and a side of Cheesy Grits. The food was so very delicious! Handsdown, this is the best breakfast place I've visited in years! read more

I've been to First Watch a half a dozen times, but this is my first review because although I really like the food and the staff, we've always had a really awkward experience (I'll leave it at that). Today... success! Even though it seemed really busy we were seated right away. The service was friendly and prompt, the kitchen was humming and our food came out correctly and right away. I had the breakfast scramble (no ham) and my bf had the avocado bacon hash. First Watch has a way of making everything taste healthy and fresh, even when your breakfast is covered in hollandaise sauce! The juices are honestly what keep us coming back. The day glow and kale tonic are amazing. First Watch gets three stars because I'm still on the fence about how our experience will be next time, and although the juices are awesome they don't serve booze. read more

This is our 2nd time at this location. We came in and a family was leaving a booth. I asked if we could sit there once they cleaned it off. The 3 cashiers told us yes, but no one moved to get the table cleaned off. 5 minutes went by and I had to ask the 3 cashiers....yes 3 people standing at the cash register. One lady said I will go and tell them. I yell out YES.... goodness!!! I can't believe I even had to do that at all. ‍ Finally we sat down and was able to eat our breakfast. It was great, except our waitress had memory lapse yea that. We had to keep asking to things because she never brought them after the first ask. ‍ read more

Highly recommend: This is one of the best breakfasts/Brunch locations in the Area. Went with my wife, we had been past it several times but we finally made the right choice. We left satisfied and will definitely be back and will tell others! read more

Good fresh food and good service. It's moderately priced. Should definitely try it out.

Service has gone way down. The attendants at the beginning were inattentive and would have put others in the queue before my wife and I. The waitress gave a demeanor of not wanting to be there. The menu selections were typical along with the seasonal menu. The food itself was good. The only thing I would say is worth going for is the coffee. Bottomless cup! I am sure there are better options out there. read more

First Watch - Elevated Egg Sandwich w/ fried potatoes. Soooooo delicious!!! - Cafes Near Me - Gaithersburg, Maryland

This is hands down my favorite brunch place in the area. It's casual and well priced. The servers are friendly and that combined with the decor make you feel like your visiting that local hidden gem rather than being in a chain restaurant. The food here is fresh and healthy. The pancakes and french toast are on the menu if you are craving them, but the menu is focused on well portioned healthy options that make this place a great place to frequent. I have been here several times, every experience has been great. My favorite go to thing to order is the beefeater sandwich. Roast beef and cheese on sourdough served with a side of horseradish that has the perfect amount of kick and doesn't clear out your sinuses with just one bite. This place is easy to find and the parking is not a nightmare. They are in an open parking lot that does get full but is not nearly as crowded as some of the other brunch options in the neighboring town centers. It really makes a difference when you just want a place that you can head in, grab a quick bite, and go. read more

Great experience food was super fresh as expected. Even the OJ was clearly squeezed per order. The French Toast was divine and well portioned. I ordered the trifecta which was tasty. I'm not big on a change in familiar textures. So the pancakes has actual grains in them which I didn't like. They were gracious and switched it to a waffle. I'm happy and so was my tummy. Overall good experience would definitely recommend this place to all. read more

Elevated Egg Sandwich- my favorite. Great pick-up service, food presentation & taste.

Service was horrible. Worse service I've ever had. The waitress came by to give us water, took 10 mins to take our order and then never came back. 45 mins later we asked for our food and she said she was waiting on eggs. Eggs!? Because that's what takes 45 minutes to cook. read more

This place is ridiculous! I went online and joined the waitlist it said 120-180 min wait so I joined so once the table is ready we can go and sit down but when tried to check the status it said "This merchant is not accepting waitlist entries through Google at this time." So I called them and the host said once u join the wait list u have to come in person once you joint the online waiting list so we can actually put ur name in our waiting list and u have to wait outside in person as if there is no online wait list !!!!! I've never heard of anything more ridiculous and none sense !!! Then whats the point ? Ppl go online to join the wait list so they don't have to be there at the ovation waiting for 2-3 hours! I guess they have 0 concept of online joining the wait list, specially these days with covid!!! This place is super dysfunctional... read more

I'm giving First Watch 4 stars instead of 5 since their glass ware was extremely dirty. They said it was due to the oils in lip stick etc and the auto-dishwasher could not remove the stains. ...sorry, poor excuse! If this is the issue, hand wash and polish the glasses. We chose to go cups. Despite the stained glasses, the flatware and plates appeared to be thoroughly cleaned. Four stars is shared between very friendly and attentive staff and good, fresh food! We chose hash and a couple varieties of pancakes (blueberry and bacon and cheddar). I asked for spinach and mushroom in the hash, they were very generous with mushroom, but there was not a single trace of spinach. It was also supposed have bacon, but clearly they substituted my bacon for mushroom w/my knowledge. I accepted since I idnt need bacon anyway :/ Overall, nice experience. Very relaxed and warm setting. Several choices on the menu. Oh and the Day Glow fresh squeezed juice is a hit and must try! (Carrot, orange, lemon and ginger). read more

My family comes frequently, and the food is great for the price, and the staff is usually kind and timely. We came in today with a party of 6, knowing they don't take reservations and that our party was bigger. However, several large groups who came in after us were seated first. When asked, they said the other group made reservations, but they don't take those, so we couldn't make them. When we were seated, we sat at a table for four, and our waitress was confused and although very kind, struggled to take our order. Overall, a frustrating experience but the food was still great. read more
