Just ate here for brunch today and they were awesome! I just had a heart transplant 10 days ago and they were so accommodating. I have to follow a special diet and be careful what i eat or drink with. The manager got us in right away even though their was a wait and our server was excellent as well. We are evacuees from hurricane Florence in wilmington. We were looking for a brunch place on Sunday. We walked in and were told that they don't really open until tomorrow. They were doing an invite only event today to practice. The hostess did not blink when we apologized and explained our circumstances, instead she welcomed us and seated us quickly. The service and food was wonderful. You must try the fresh juices. Both are excellent. The half sandwich half soup (butternut squash was the special) was great. Others had avocado toast with eggs, and salads. Everything around us looked good too. We are big fans and hope for one in Wilmington soon. read more

Went here for a Sunday brunch once we saw that it recently opened. The wait was looooooooong (somewhat to be expected, given the time of day). Service also wasn't great - one of our drinks never came, and the only time we saw our waitress once our food came out was when she dropped off the check so we couldn't let her know. I got eggs, sausage, and a (truly massive) pancake, all of which were fine but not remarkable. The other member of my party liked her mushroom frittata, and there were a lot of interesting things on the menu (particularly seasonally - pumpkin pancakes!) Prices are reasonable, but certainly not cheap. Bonus points for being a cool space. There are just so many good brunch spots in and around Durham that it's tough to recommend First Watch after a crazy wait and meh service for just-okay food. read more

You want mediocre food at an unjustified price? You want incompetent, rude staff? Head over to First Watch! Where you'll pay $14 for a sandwich and they will forget to tell you that they are out of one of the main components until your food comes out and you notice it yourself. Once you ask them to comp the item on the bill, they will tell you they can only cover $4 of it. They will ask you, "well, did you eat it all?" and you will surely walk out angry and unsatisfied. Good iced coffee, though. So if you're into ruining your day for a pretty good iced coffee, I guess this is your kind of place. read more

Our server was pretty attentive for how overall busy the restaurant was. The food came out faster than expected. Me and my boyfriend work in the restaurant industry so we understand if our food takes longer than normal and respect it. However, our food was out within 10-15 of our app. The food was good, however, the presentation wasn't the best and my boyfriends dish was missing a few components. I would come back again. Service was awful and food was overpriced! Waiter first appeared 15 minutes after being seated, food was extremely late to the table, one order was forgotten and was told the second was not cooked correctly. After the entire table had eaten and was ready to leave, I had to ask what happened to to food, and to cancel order. The Waiter went to the back and brought to the table anyway. At this point all had left the building except for me, I was standing next to the table asking for a check. When I received the check, the waiter told me she talked to the Manager and he offered to take $2 of my meal. I had to probe and get uncomfortable in requesting that I not pay for the breakfast I never got to eat. By the way, the order was for two eggs.. not very complicated.. I highly recommend BOB EVANS or staying home! Bottom line: POOR SERVICE, AWFUL MANAGEMENT (no interest in customer) and decent but OVERPRICED food! read more

When our waitress arrived I let her know it was our first time and asked her what she would recommend but she just asked what I wanted to eat. Had a great experience here at First Watch! I've been to one other in Miami and remember really enjoying the ambiance and overall experience. We arrived probably at prime time on a Sunday (~11:30am) and were told we had about a 20 min wait which seemed like nothing to me, especially when there's free coffee available!! After a slight hiccup on our wait list status (I totally goofed up) we ended up sitting in some open seats at what I like to call the "free for all" table. The table is staffed by a waitress, but there are about 12 seats free for whatever size and shape of group can fit there, kinda fun, also kinda awkward! I ordered the vegetarian skillet which is potatoes topped with mushrooms, zucchini, and other veggies, goat cheese and your choice of egg on top! Super yummy, and it comes with some thick toast and jam! Really had a nice experience here and I can't wait to spend another meal here, I am definitely planning on trying out more of a lunch item next time, its always so hard to choose! read more

Had terrific meal at a First Watch in Columbus, Ohio and was thrilled to see one open in Durham. We were there on two consecutive weekends (one Sunday with long wait and one Saturday afternoon with no wait). Both time we had excellent service and the food was piping hot and delicious. The Million Dollar bacon is terrific (a hint of cayenne, so be forewarned) and the seasonal mushroom frittata was amazing. Love that they serve a side salad with egg dishes - what a nice surprise. We had a slight problem on our second visit and Paul, the manager, spent some time not only apologizing and making it right, but sharing his experience with the chain -- all good, from what I hear. Often, this restaurant serves some of the best breakfast in the triangle. Service tends to be fairly quick, even when they're busy. However, I'm writing this in regards of my experience February 13th. As usual, I placed my order online 30-40 minutes in advance for 12:30pm. My boyfriend and I waited in the car to arrive inside at exactly 12:30pm, since we try to reduce the amount of time we're in public due to covid. Once we did go inside, our order wasn't ready. Which isn't a problem, we're used to waiting for another 5-10 minutes due to their high demand. As someone who was a manager for a similar styled restaurant, it's normal. We took a seat to wait as we were sure it wouldn't be long, but lord we were wrong. Normally, after being there for 8 minutes, the hostess or the online order waitress would check on us. After about 20 minutes, I went up to the hostess ( I didn't get her name but she had blond hair) and asked about our order. To which she replaced " are you sure it's not on the table? ". I had told her I checked about 3 times and it's been a bit past the time we had set for. She seemed a bit annoyed and asked for the name, she went to the kitchen area and back within 30 seconds to say it'll be out in a few minutes. I thanked her and took a seat again. Another 15-20 minutes passed and nothing. At this point, I was getting annoyed and my boyfriend was getting extremely upset. During this wait, the online order waitress didn't even pay attention to us, didn't ask a thing and would ignore us while placing orders out. We had an actual server (not the hostess) ask us what we we're waiting on. My boyfriend did respond that we've been waiting almost an hour for a mobile order. He (the server) went to the back to check, and then never returned to say a thing. Around 1-1:15pm, the manager came by to check on this white lady who's order was incorrect. After he wasn't busy, we asked about our order. He went to the kitchen as well. Apparently our ticket hadn't even been started , so he had to place a new one and it would be another 30 minute wait. Thankfully, he issued a refund and apologized for the inconvenience. Shout out to the manager Reggie ! It's not even his actual location and he did an amazing job. We finally received our order, originally placed at 12:30 pm, at about 1:40 pm. Needless to say, we were extremely dissatisfied with the service received. This place is OK. Let me first start by saying it's very convenient for us to go here and there's a good amount of parking, and since it's a local chain the menu and the food quality are pretty consistent. We went in on a Sunday morning right before a big rush happened and I will say the one thing that I wish was different, was that I thought our waitress was rushing us along a bit. I'm sure that she knew that there are people waiting for the table and it's not that she took away our food before we were done however she was quick to slide in and grab an empty plate even though the rest of the table was still eating. For me that's a little bit of a pet peeve. I'm sure others would be very appreciative of the service. I had the farmers market omelette, and ordered gluten-free toast with it. When it arrived the waitress immediately noticed that the toast was regular and went back and grabbed me a slice of gluten-free toast immediately. I think that was great that she immediately caught it and corrected it. Everybody else at the table enjoyed the food, one person got the million dollar bacon and loved it. Food was very delicious! My whole family loved the food. The restaurant is tastefully decorated. Recommend for dates and family gatherings. However the waitress was not very hospitable. She suddenly disappeared. By that point the restaurant had become less busy. Erika did not pick up our plates, did not refill our drinks, & we waited ages for a blueberry pancake and another sandwich and soup. He clearly didn't look like he wanted to work or he didn't wanna serve us. I ordered the Chicken Salad Melt & my sister ordered the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl. By the time we got our food, he just walked away. No words. AND he didn't give us utensils. So how the hell were we supposed to eat? We just sat there for 5-10 mins just staring at our food while he was in the kitchen just talking to his coworkers. We made eye contact but he never bothered to check on us. By the time we finally were able to eat, my sister noticed that her bowl was a lot like soup. We've had quinoa before and we know quinoa is not supposed to be like that. It doesn't even look like in the pictures online. Also my chicken salad melt wasn't evenly spread out on the bread. It was in a ball, so I had to even it out myself. I was already mad at the service and the food that we were just trying to rush and leave. Anyways highly disappointed.
