This is not a four star restaurant. The tables are sticky for starters. The food looks fabulous, but the flavors are mild. Nothing was better than good. This First Watch, as many have mentioned, is a little hard to find the first time. However, it is my favorite one to go to in the area. We came on a Tuesday morning, so there was no wait and our party of four was seated immediately. Our waitress was bilingual so we appreciated her communicating in both English and Spanish. I came with a big appetite so I ordered Eggs Benedict Florentine and shared an order of Avocado Toast with my sister. Everything was delicious and savory. Both dishes went well with each other and were very filling. The only thing I suggest is ordering a drink to avoid drinking the water. The water is presented in a nice way to serve yourself refills, but it tastes worse than my own sink water. I ordered an iced coffee that went well with my meal. My dad tried the Kale Tonic and Spring Clean beverages. They tasted fresh, healthy, and had a strong kick of flavors! He finished that right up. The price for one is close to $4 though and the amount served is not meant to last the whole meal, unless you let the ice melt and drink it periodically. Everything was great, except our waitress was hard to reach/find when we wanted to speak to her. She checked up on us twice after we got our food, yet we noticed other tables on the opposite side of the restaurant got constantly checked up on. The seating placement definitely plays a role in this, since we were the only table in the separate section of the restaurant. Love First Watch and am a fan of the Clearwater location. It's nice seeing the same team members on a regular basis, especially when they provide friendly service. We are always seated and served quickly. Live First Watch coffee and especially appreciate the carafe left on the table. They have no problem customizing or substituting menu items and sharing is allowed with no extra charge. I have practically created my own menu items with the amount of substitutions and add ons. There is never any problem or trouble and the food is always made exactly as requested. I also really like their rotating seasonal specials. They are typically creative and delicious. I also enjoy their new fresh juices, but do not agree serving them over ice! They should be served like any other glass of juice in a small glass with no ice. Very strange. read more

I have been going to this first watch for well over ten yrs now. It is always very good. I like over medium eggs and they are always just right, bacon is always nice and crispy. Pancakes are always good here too. They have several "good for you" menu choices as well. I have had the power wrap which is a spinach wrap with eggwhites and other ingredients and comes with salsa that is very yummy. Their lunch's are really good too. I have gotten the california club which has greens, turkey, bacon, avacado. Really really yummy. I get 1/2 sandwhich and cup of tomato bisque which is good too. Wait staff are always very friendly and attentive. Iwould definitly recommend giving it a try if you are in the countryside area. read more

The website for this location says closed when they are not. It took me two times to call and reach someone to place an order. The lady seemed nice and even mentioned how good my order sound. When I got there to pick up, my drink was made way ahead of time so very water down. Very crowded in the from and the FOH was too busy chatting with someone and not doing his job like seating guest who were waiting more than 5min and even made eye contact and said nothing, didn't even welcome anyone who walked in. When my food finally came up it was sealed so I left. BIG MISTAKE! I should have know to check my food. My order was wrong and missing my side and added food that I didn't ask for. When I tried to contact them to let them know, no one would answer the phone. I will not be going back to that location! I have a confession to make: I usually DO NOT like breakfast or breakfast food. I'm imagining all the mothers out there reading this collectively gasping right about now (like mine used to). I know, I know - "It's the most important meal of the day"....yadda....yadda....yadda. Well, imagine my shock when today I awoke to an overwhelming desire for - you guessed it - breakfast! After coming to grips with this once in a million years event, the question became: where to go? IHOP? No thanks. The idea of cheap assembly line food is a no-no for me. Waffle House? HELLS no! Local breakfast institution, Lenny's? Thought about it for a hot minute & then remembered seeing all those TSA-length lines over the last 20 years. I'll pass. Patience is NOT one of my virtues. Then I remembered a name I've heard many of my breakfast connoisseur friends speak highly of - First Watch. So I break out my trusty Yelp app (shameless pandering, I know) to find the nearest location. What do you know, there's one a stones-throw away from me & it's showing no wait time (did I mention I'm not patient?). So I headed out to scratch my newfound breakfast itch. Upon arriving, I was greeted very warmly by the comely hostess & was sat down immediately (props to Yelp on accurate wait times). Now the moment of truth - what on earth do I want? It's probably been close to 20 years since I've eaten breakfast food. I finally settle on what I decide is the "best of the breakfast world" options - the Cinnamon Chip Pancake Breakfast (two fresh, cage-free eggs any style, cinnamon chip pancake & your choice of bacon, all natural chicken, pork or turkey sausage). As my ever-patient & friendly server takes my order, she unintentionally threw me a curveball by asking, "How do you want your eggs?" I then realized it had been so long since I had eaten eggs that I had forgotten the ways they are prepared. Lol!!!! I kid you not! Upon seeing my befuddlement, my server was kind enough to refresh my atrophied memory as to my options & I went with "over hard" accompanied with turkey sausage. It may have been a long time since I've had pancakes, but I do remember them as always being sponges used to soak up syrup. This pancake was sooooo NOT that. It had an ever so slight crisp to it on the outside with a nice, soft inside. The cinnamon almost seemed strategically placed throughout, so as not to overwhelm with one bite & be absent in others. It had just the right amount of "cinnamony" sweetness without being too sweet. I hate sickeningly sweet foods. This was pancake perfection! I actually could eat these without syrup. Absolutely delicious! The eggs were just as I ordered them - "over hard" & tasty. My memory now refreshed, eggs are eggs & there aren't a whole lot of descriptors needed to describe them. The turkey sausages were a little on the small side in my opinion, however, I loved them nonetheless. Spiced nicely, but minus all the grease that usually accompanies their pork brethren. All in all, I was very happy with my choice of First Watch to become reacquainted with breakfast fare, and should the desire arise once again, I'll definitely return - especially for the pancakes! read more

One of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time! My husband and I are vegan and were able to find a few really good choices on their menu. We both went with the A.M. Superfoods Bowl. This beauty comes with a bowl of coconut milk chia seed pudding topped with preserves, fresh fruit, and granola. On the side it had two triangles of artisan multigrain bread and almond butter. Someone else in our group ordered the avocado toast with two eggs on the side. It looked equally delicious! I hope to return the next time we are in the area! read more

Easily the worst first watch location in the Tampa area and believe me I've been to all of them and do so regularly. The staff here glares at you with disdain when you come in, it takes no less than 5-10 minutes just to have your drink order taken, the glasses always look dirty, refills take forever. If you find yourself in the countryside area looking to get first watch just keep driving over to east bay road, at least they know how to run a restaurant at that location. Notice that this location also has the worst reviews in the area, so it's not just me. read more

We were visiting from Miami and were trying to find a place for brunch. We loved the seasonal menu, I got the pumpkin spiced pancakes, and everyone else ordered the short rib omelette. If you are looking for a great meal the omelette is amazing. The customer service was very good as well. Only downside if you are looking for a mimosa, they do not serve any alcohol. read more

Just drove here from the East Bay location because I really wanted my veggie omelette with organic greens on the side but I walked out of the East Bay location because of the rudeness and lack of human warmth or eye contact. This place is like a breath of fresh air!! From the guy who greeted me and seated me to both servers who took my order, brought me my food (delicious perfection) and then checked in on me frequently to see if I needed anything...Thank you. Went for brunch today. You know a restaurant is going to be good when you have to wait 20 minutes for a table. We weren't disappointed. The food was excellent and worth the wait. While everyone else was ordering high carb meals for Sunday brunch, we opted for the Cobb salad. All of the ingredients were fresh and delicious. Our server frequently brought us fresh glasses of iced tea. This is "A" tea served here. Parking was tight but this shopping center has a lot of popular stores. I visited this location yesterday with a good friend that has never been before. I have been to several locations in the Bay Area and the service has always been great! Except yesterday ! The waitress was not very personal at all she didn't ask us for refills not even once ! We had to stop another waitress twice to get refills. Then she brought us the check when we were not even done yet !! I wanted to really order more food but she lost out on that business . The lunch sandwiches were delicious but my side order of grits were drenched in butter to the point I asked them to bring me another one out with no butter . Food wise I would have given this location a 4 star rating but due to the lack of attention from the server it's only going to be 2. Hopefully after another visit there I can update it UPDATED REVIEW! I have updated my review from 2 to 3 stars! The manager kindly sent me a gift card ( I did not ask for one) so that was a nice gesture ! Food was great but once again server did not ask us for drink refills ! I think this is so important ! I was once again given the check before I was asked if we wanted a drink refill ( glasses were empty) I think it might be helpful to train the staff better on that IMO ! It's a little hard to find (I drove around the entire shopping center twice before I found it tucked away toward the back) The menu is innovative - plenty of classic favorites but with a twist. I went here for the first time for brunch on a Sunday around 10 am. It was crowded and there was a line, but as promised, I waited only 10 minutes. Our server was cheerful and attentive. I needed a few minutes to peruse the menu before I finally decided on a zucchini, goat cheese, and sun dried tomato omelette. I substituted egg whites because I wanted to keep my meal somewhat light. The omelette was spectacular. Even with the egg whites the omelette was quite substantial. The zucchini was finely chopped and the bite of the goat cheese filled my mouth with flavor. To this day, several weeks later, I can't stop thinking about that omelette and even bought the ingredients to make my own at home back in PA. My guest raved about her mushroom omelette and we both enjoyed a side of homefries. The coffee was good as well. The restaurant itself is rather plain with not much on the walls, but it is clean and the sunny yellow colored paint makes the place feel warm and inviting. The avocado toast with whole grain goodness bread and huge chunks of yummy avocado. It's a great combination of the chewy nutty break and creamy fruit. I chase it with a few strips of their nicely crisped bacon and both my tummy and palate are happy. The menu is nice and versatile with items for people with all sorts of dietary needs. The prices are reasonable ($6-$10) and the portions are generous. Whether you are vegan, a sausage-loving carnivore or a food conscious snacker, First Watch's menu will have something for you. The waitress comes back with the coffee, and leaves it on table (no begging for refills here!), takes our order and is off. I get the afore mentioned Chorizo Omelet with house made pico de gallo, fresh sour cream and artisan toast with homemade preserves. The omlete is fat and delicious. The quality of the meat breaks through the free range eggs and is complimented by the clearly just made pico de gallo. My wife thoroughly enjoys granola and the preservative free yogurt provides the perfect vessel. Overall, this place is awesome. Oh how I miss you First Watch! THE.BEST.BRUNCH.PERIOD. Now that I live in Boston, I would kill for their delicious marinated salad that comes as a side with most lunches. It is chopped tomato, cucumber and I think celery marinated in the most delicious poppy seed vinaigrette you have ever tasted....I dream about it....sad, I know. Every thing on the menu is amazing. You really can't go wrong. My fav would have to be the Turkey sandwich w/ the ranch on the side. You can not even begin to know how good this is until you taste it.
