This place is mediocre at best, just like the Egg & I before it. I heard "it's our first weekend" more than once by way of apology for lack of knowledge about the menu and spotty service. If you're not ready, don't open! There are zero gluten-free or dairy-free options or substitutes. I understand that the chain is from Florida, but if you're going to open a restaurant in Colorado in 2017 that claims to be "fresh" and "healthy," you're going to need to accommodate some dietary restrictions. I'll stick with Snooze and the Original Pancake House up the street. read more

This was my first and my last visit. I asked for ice water and they said they just have "really cold water" I wish the egg and I never changed this place to First Watch. The cups were filthy with dishwasher residue and the other small cups they expect us to have our "really cold water" in had food particles stuck on the glass I had to pry off. I ordered an omelette and asked for EXTRA cheese and there was a dash of cheese. I then asked Dallas for more cheese and she said the cook said he put a lot. Excuse me? I'm the one about to consume my omelette and I like EXTRA cheese and she didn't get me anymore. How rude. Finally the bill comes out and she charged us for an additional cheese omelette. Wow. Will never go back. I gave this place two chances and the first time I went my husband and I sat and waited at our table for 15-20 minutes before even being brought water or coffee. The second time still has me speechless, we waited over an hour after ordering for our food while all the tables around us got theirs promptly. When the food came it was awful as if it had been sitting. We were clearly frustrated and our server said "The manager is available now if you'd like them to come out and talk to you." If you have to ask us if we want to talk to the manager, that's bad. Manager should have been at our table resolving the situation the entire time. read more

Started out just fine our server was friendly. We ordered a beverage that didn't come and had to remind the server. Then I ordered a bacon lettuce tomato sandwich, without the egg adding avocado. I got a lettuce and tomato sandwich with one piece of bacon with no avocado and no egg. The butternut squash soup was very bland. We sat at our table and even though I ate less than half of my food and almost none of the soup the server never even asked me if it was good. We then were asked to leave because they were on a wait. If there was a limit on how long we were allowed to sit at our table that should have been communicated when we sat down. Also a good note for our server is that we can hear her through her mask and she doesn't need to approach our table wearing a mask and then remove it in order to have a conversation. Certainly much better breakfast places with non bland food and better service. Would not recommend. read more

This place is amazing!!! They took over The Egg & I and have made improvements in every aspect. First off, the new decor is beautiful. Reclaimed wood and cool accent walls, hardwood floors, soft paint colors, Edison lights and funky decorations. The food also received a major overhaul. Two words... Millionaire's. Bacon. You've got to get you some of that in your life! The Morning Meditation fresh juice is amazing too. I had the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl and it was unlike anything I've ever had in a restaurant. Light, fresh and flavorful. There are at least a dozen other items I can't wait to go back and try. Finally, the service was awesome. I didn't even have to touch the door on the way in OR the way out! They kept all of the same staff and they were prompt, but not overbearing. Well done First Watch! See again you soon!! read more

I know you'll probably make an audible gasp when I say this.. but I think this place far exceeds Snooze or The Egg & I. The menu items are diverse enough if you want something unique and over the top, they have it. They also have healthy options that are really good and aren't just the obligatory low-cal tack-on menu item, which I really appreciate. I'd call the dishes normal sized - if you are looking for ultra sized portions, you might feel a bit let down here. But I think they prioritize quality over portion size. No matter what end of the spectrum you order, the food has great flavor and is well prepared and arrives nicely presented. The staff is friendly and service is fast, attentive and consistent - even when they are busy. Quality fresh ingredients, diverse menu, creative dishes, great flavor, clean/comfortable space... they are doing it right. read more

Big step backward from egg & I. Food was ok but severely over priced. They nickel and dime you hard. Be careful ordering syrup, could be be costly mistake. As for service, it was slow, forgetful (took three requests to get water), and uninterested in fixing mistakes. Hopefully a new family friendly place will open near by soon. read more

The food was decent - the poached eggs seemed a little lukewarm, hollandaise had too much butter in it. The service was something else. The waitress informed us when she dropped off the check that we could stay as long as we wanted but she was coming to the end of her shift so she wanted us to pay before she left "Would it be rude of me to ask you to pay before I have to do by other work?" Then once the tip was figured she asked if it was okay if she took the merchant copy right then. She kind of hovered around us. I was having breakfast with a friend from out of state and it was somewhat intrusive. I have dined at other First Watch locations and I had suggested this because it was close to where she was staying. I have had other wait staff at various restaurants finish a shift while I was dining - they almost always have a co-worker handle their tables that are finishing up. I probably won't go back to this location again. Wish we had opted for Snooze across the street. read more

Not real happy that they stopped the military and senior discounts when the converted from The Egg & I. Also, changing the biscuits and gravy from sausage to Turkey sausage ruins that meal for me. I'll go to The Littleton Egg & I as long as they stay under that brand. read more

Guy walks into the place with a newspaper under his arm (hint, maybe he's a reader); there is a sea of open tables. Hostess steers him to the smallest table available, great idea? Breakfast is normal eggs, no patty sausage, no wheat or rye or other toast choice, only white and multigrain; water without ice, really. So, plenty of other places with more choices I think. read more

Had breakfast here this morning and couldn't be happier! As a HUGE Snooze fan, I am equally impressed with First Watch. They have some really great menu items that are different than Snooze but still unique and delicious. Love that they have a lot of healthy options and a great kids menu. Found the new interior to be like a millennial ski-patrol cocktail lounge - lot's of rough barn wood, medium dark colors, vinyl wood flooring and small Formica tables which leaves plenty of room for over-crowding. Food is decent but portions are small (but "healthy" we're told). The new owners kept the wait staff so service is still pretty good. Since it no longer has the warm inviting ambiance of the Egg & I, we'll take our meals elsewhere. read more

My friend and I went to First Watch for breakfast. I ordered a skillet hash which was not very good. The mixture of sundried tomatoes did not complement or taste good and the eggs which were supposed to be scrambled were cold and hard. Real scrambled eggs are usually mixed before being placed in the skillet, but it looks like the cook was making a fried egg and then scrambled it. It's not the same thing. I asked for cranberry juice. The server didn't clarify if I wanted a small or large which was $3.50, much more than I wanted to pay. We didn't get water so we had to ask for it. No one checked on us and she got the bill wrong. So with the service being poor, the poor food, and the meal being overpriced, I do not see myself coming back to First Watch anytime soon. Breakfast is one of the easiest things to make and it usually is much less than what I paid today. I used to come to this location because it was an Egg & I, but First Watch is definitely a step below any breakfast place I've ever been to. read more

My wife and I ate breakfast at the Egg And I many times and always enjoyed the meals, wait staff and the atmosphere. When we heard about it changing to First Watch we were excited to try the new eatery. The new decor is very homey reminding me of days back in Wisconsin milking the cows in the morning. The wait staff was friendly and courteous even though they appeared to be understaffed. I ordered the Trifecta. The Egg And I had a similar plate so I thought it would be a good comparison. What showed up was interesting. Two little eggs, those range free chickens must need a little more protein in their diets, one sausage and one thick piece of French toast. It made the plate look gigantic. The Egg and I use to have two pieces of French toast, two large eggs and two sausage patties. All for approximately the same price. When I tried cutting the French toast the whole plate would rock. The new tables are textured similar to a 3D terrain map. (Hang on to your coffee mug.) In my opinion, if you want to eat someplace and brag about the Chia Seed Pudding you had to your friends, this the place. If you want a real breakfast, look somewhere else. We're looking. read more
