The bar itself is small with an even smaller stage, but where it lacks in size, it excels in everything else. There are clearly a good amount of local regulars that go there and for good reason. It feels like a place that will remember your name after one visit. The alcohol selection seemed decent (I can't say for sure as I am always happy with cheap beer) and although I didn't try the food there, my bandmates said that the hot dog was really good and the birria grilled cheese is to die for. I will make sure I go back and try them both! If you are looking for a good time at a local bar with good people, Papa's Public House is your place! The restaurant itself was comfortable, more of sports bar with plenty of screens to catch the various games. They were setting up a stage for a band but we left before the music began. I'm no stranger to dive bars, but the rest of my family was not very comfortable. So I'd say this is not a family-friendly establishment. Service was unreasonably slow for how unbusy they were. And I don't need to describe ambiance further because dive bars are dive bars. The food itself was supremely disappointing. People rave about these burgers? I feel incredibly lied to. They were pretty bad. I can taste when meat is low quality, and this is it. It's like finding the lowest quality frozen ground beef patties on manager special at Walmart. You're not going to get sick from it, but you're also not going to have the best meal. It just blows my mind that anyone would call these burgers good. An older gentleman was working the whole place, and he made some surprisingly good cocktails for what is basically an arcade. It's not huge, but a decent size, with two floors. A few machines on the first floor was off limits for unlimited play, but everything else was fair game. Our favorites were the South Park (natch) and Iron Maiden machines, along with an oddball non-pinball machine called Ice Cold Beer which was simple but quite challenging.
