I had been to the First Watch in Sunrise once before so I was hoping this location would be an improvement. I was very disappointed. First Watch seems to be determined to stick avocado and chicken (or turkey) in as many egg white or other non traditional foods as possible. "Bacado", "Morning Market Veg" "Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos, etc. I just prefer a traditional breakfast. So I ordered the "Million Dollar Bacon", which turned out to be just bacon drenched in Maple Syrup, and then when I ordered an (off the menu) Cheese Omelet; I was told I had to use their Cheese Mixture, no choice of cheese. This breakfast came with no sides and no toast; which the waitress said she would bring me "wink". The omelet was small and no better than I can make at home. The food was way too expensive. Loved the lemon ricotta pancakes with bacon - so delicious I didn't even use syrup but the option to have real maple syrup was nice! Hubby had the trifecta and the blueberry fruit mix was delicious. Fresh squeezed OJ and coffee topped off our breakfast experience. If you're in the area of Boca Raton definitely worth the stop. Yum breakfast but the attitude of several of staff is obnoxious and entitled. Specifically Nathan with his uppity attitude thinking he's funny when he told us it would be an hour wait we called in ahead and was told a 5-10 min wait. I told him it wasn't funny and his defensiveness additional attitude was huge turnoff. Additionally the server was fine but didn't like us to change our minds or have questions. Usually this location is consistent but today was way off! We had to wait over 45 mins to get our first plate. Breakfast followed approximately 20 minutes later... cold. We asked for eggs over medium, they were hard. We requested a 2nd order - they were hard again. We asked multiple times for maple syrup - the waitress finally brought it towards the end of our meal. Eating healthy is not usually "my thing" or what I am good at, however I enjoyed first watch. My friend Aysia loves to eat here. She. Iced to Ny so whenever she is home in Florida she goes to first watch as many times as possible. The service is always great here, but they can get a little slammed in the morning. No matter how busy they manage to get everyone this food in a timely manner though. Our waitress was amazing. She knew my friend and her order just because she was heir server earlier in the week, which anything personal makes the experience much nicer to me! I ordered some pancakes and my friend got avocado toast as usual. The server was always asking if we needed anything else or refilling our drinks when our glasses started to get empty. Well well well, guess who finally stepped their game up? Thank goodness because I've driven by this location daily and always said to myself what if. Luckily upper management took their complaints and Yelp reviews seriously because it has has done a complete 180. It's not totally First Watch perfection yet, but it is definitely headed in the right direction. I returned with my family last week and we were greeted by who seemed like a new manager (because god knows the old was one horrendous). The wait was normal, about 10-15 minutes. But that is a good thing because of the food turnover, plus a busier place means higher standards. The wait staff was slightly different but it could have been just a scheduling thing. I will say there are about 2 waiter/waitresses that have no business waiting table so to see this improvement is greatly appreciated. The orders were put in and came out correctly. OMG did I just say that? Yes, you bet your ass I did and because of this, the vastly improved level of service/management/food has given me new hope. It also has given me a reason to increase their rating. On the way out that day, the gentlemen who I thought was the manager advised me he was the area supervisor and appreciated that the fact I returned to eat there after all (and I mean all) of their continuous mess-ups during the first few months. I will say if you're reading reviews on this place, be skeptical of people with little or no reviews. Those that have glowing reviews or those who don't even have a profile. Not that there won't be newbies who will now find this place to be worthy of positive reviews, but you should take heed to what the regulars have to say. I was very very very very apprehensive to First Watch. After reading the reviews and the horrible service I was.... nervous. Maybe management started reading these reviews, or they woke up.... but I had a fabulous time at first watch. I went on a Saturday morning.... lots of people, but absolutely no wait. When I started walking up to the door with the rest of my group, the door was already open and the host was already asking how many and starting showing my party of 3 to our table. I was expecting to have to wait 30 minutes for a table... but no. Even at 11:30am, on a saturday... we got out table super fast. When we sat down I definitely thought that we were about to get the worse service imaginable. I held on to my seat when the waitress walked over and asked for our drinks. Sweat bullets were running down my face as I slowly said "Iced Tea". "Sweet or unsweet?" "Sweet please". Yeah, within a minute my whole table had our drinks. No flies, no lipstick on the glasses, no dirty silverware. All was well. I've been told that first watch is the best place for breakfast. I have to agree that it is a great place for breakfast, not my first choice, but definitely a top choice. Big menu filled with everything from omelets to fritatta's to pancakes. We ordered 3 blueberry pancakes for the table, I got the Bacado (omelet with bacon, avocado and cheese). Very very very good. Portions were excellent. My omelet came with home style potatoes. I cleared my plate. Avocado's were fresh and not on the cusp of turning brown. But the real showstopper of the table were the pancakes. DELICIOUS. I couldn't stop eating the stupid things. I knocked a star off because the center was still pure batter (Which in my household is never an issue, but in a restaurant I get a little sketched out). But the pancakes were so moist and fluffy and there were whole blueberries in the pancake. Not like other places where you order blueberry pancakes and you get specs here and there. My experience at first watch may have been luck.... but I really liked first watch. Read the other reviews... get scared like me.... but go and see for yourself. We came here to meet a friend for breakfast. Look no further. The choices here are terrific. Healthy tasty and FRESH local ingredients. My wife had the avocado toast with a poached egg. I had the "Parma" hash (Italian sausage as the main ingredient) with over easy eggs. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Our first time here but definitely not our last. We were passing by two weeks later and decided to get soup and sandwich to go. Big mistake. We received a tiny portion of soup and a skimpy sandwich. I won't go for take out from this place again. We returned with out of town friends for another visit last Sunday. The wait was only 15 minutes,so that was great for a Sunday morning. It was crowded and the food suffered. There was no attention to QA of the orders. Everything arrived at tepid temperatures. I ordered the avocado toast with two tempered eggs. The eggs came with the yolks almost hard and they were cold. Another person order had potatoes on the side and they were cold also. Everyone agreed that the food was not prepared with care. It felt useless to complain, so we picked at the meals and left. (After paying the bill and tipping the server). There are MANY choices of breakfast and lunch places, and it will be hard to ever return to First Watch. The food here seems like it has all been prepackaged, and labeled as healthy. First Watch is a chain in an area where mom n' pop shops are dominant. The service here is no bueno. While all of our waiters have been nice, they haven't exactly been all there if you know what I mean. It takes them usually a while to even come over to the table and then they disappear for long periods of time. The atmosphere is nice, especially because all the windows on the side of the restaurant let in a lot of natural light. The servers could keep the place a bit cleaner, as it seems the tables seem to stay messy after people have left, but that is a small detail. The bacon tastes processed and devoid of any real meaty flavor. The potatoes taste fresh, yet flavorless at the same time. But by far the food menu item that seems pre-made are the omelets. I am not saying that they are, but the way they taste makes them seem as if they have been sitting out for hours. They are about 90% egg, and only 10% actually items inside (cheese, meats, onions, etc). Surprisingly their lunch here is quite good. I occasionally get the 2 For You deal, and get the Beefeater and a Cobb Salad. The Beefeater is delicious, mainly because the bread in encrusted with cheese, which makes it crunchy and flavorful. The Cobb Salad is quite tasty, and refreshing, so together with the sandwich they are a delightful pairing. Everything here seems to be between $7 to $9, which is an okay amount to pay for the food. Every time I come here the chefs mess up my order. I tell them no cheese - they put cheese. Gluten free bread - they give me regular bread. No mushrooms - yes mushrooms. Feb 2020, our friends suggested this place for breakfast and OMG! The food is amazingly fresh and delicious. Plus the staff could not be any nicer, wish they had this restaurant in Westchester County New York. But there is one in New Jersey where we go food shopping, so that is comforting to know we do not have to drive 18 hours for a delicious breakfast :) Anyway, I ordered the Avocado Toast with two basted eggs. Found out that "basted" means steamed, who knew? The only thing I did not like was the "Million Dollar Beacon" 4 slices of hardwood smoked bacon with brown sugar, black pepper and maple syrup drizzle - tasted too sweet, rather have the traditional beacon. My other friends ordered the Traditional Breakfast and the Elevated Egg Sandwich both were delicious. Prices are fair for the food you get, and don't forget to give your waiter/hostess 20% tip. This is about the third time I've popped into this place for 2017. I used to come in here more often with my youngest and before I changed my dietary way of eating to vegan. (Yes folks! If I CAN do it, ANYONE can!!!) I was a serious meat eater prior to these last almost 19 months now! Whenever anyone says to me, "I could NEVER be vegan!" My response is, "No! You choose NOT to!" Anywho, sorry for the interjection there... It's a hit or miss with First Watch. Nothing with the food, but the service. Sometimes you might get a server who is sort of distracted or lax in following up with details, but on this particular occasion, Ian, my server was on top of his game. He made sure to understand my dietary needs without me even having to mention the "V" word. He just assumed I had food allergies which is what I usually have to resort to when ordering at establishments that are not necessarily catering to vegans. I thoroughly enjoyed my potato and veggie plate, sans the cheese, that he mentioned would be made in olive oil for me instead of butter. I had their multi-grain toast dry with smashed avocado on the side and, since I wasn't having the eggs or cheeses, I had some tomato slices. I was surprised it wasn't mentioned that it would be $1.99 extra and, even though I saw it on the bill, I didn't make a mention of it to either Ian or the manager at first, but I DID say something when I paid the bill at the front desk. Then after I paid, I casually made mention about it to Ian when I was giving him the tip in cash. He totally understood and like I said, it wasn't the extra charge, it's the principal behind it. After all, I didn't have the farm raised eggs, the mozzarella or the goat cheese, which happen to be items that are costly, in theory. I enjoyed my meal immensely which keeps me basically satiated all day until dinnertime. I don't do intermittent fasting intentionally, I just find that two meals usually is enough for me daily. This one today rated A+++. They have two other locations; one on St. Andrews off of Glades Road and another off of Hillsboro Blvd, and I believe Powerline Road.
