I just finished completing the course and took the exams to renew my license. I must say that I'm surprised and even confused by some of the negative comments recently made about First Tuesday. My experience couldn't have been better. I chose to buy their so-called "easiest" course, and frankly, that's exactly what I got - exams that were straight forward and that required relatively little studying. If you focus just on major terms and chapter summaries, and take and review the quizzes, you should pass these exams with ease. If you want to delve into any of the material more deeply for your own edification, as I did on a couple occasions, lots of material is available for you. My personal experience with the phone support also was nothing but positive. I called several times with questions regarding specifics on the courses to choose from, online access, how to renew after finishing the course, etc. I probably called a little more than was absolutely necessary, but it was so convenient; I never had to wait on the phone to reach a live, friendly, helpful person. In particular, I'll point out Tyra, who apparently has a supervisory role there but was also very accessible. Their prices seemed reasonable, cheaper than the prices I was quoted by my local CAR office. But when I told them of the even lower price I was offered in the mail from another company, they matched the price! Actually, when I finally called back to buy, Tyra beat the price I was hoping they would still honor. If you want to just renew your license as quickly and painlessly as possible, I can't imagine a better way. read more

Poorly constructed materials. Written in past with INCORRECT future market conditions, but,,,to be correct- you had to study as if their failed predictions were correct ? References made throughout to terms/phrases that were not concretely defined, so- needed to review backwards a lot. Have renewed my license many terms over the past 27 years and it has/was NEVER this complicated or just plain strange to follow.If I want input on how OBAMACARE is great and we owe it to the people of lesser incomes to use our incomes, taxes, higher rates to offset this. I used this company to pass the courses needed to get my RE license. I passed all 3 of the courses and was cleared to take the RE exam. By this point, my subscription with FT was over, so I subscribed to another highly rated online prep course for the RE exam. I also used the exam prep book that came with my FT subscription. The questions in the FT exam prep book are so extremely different from the online prep course I wasn't sure what to think at first, but the further I get into the book, the more I have found answers that are just completely wrong, and/or that contradict each other from one practice exam to another. I take my test tomorrow afternoon, and I am so utterly confused now I have no idea what to believe. I'm going with what was covered in the online prep course, because after reading the comments on FT, I just don't trust their exam prep. read more

Personel distract you for small things like moving the things they ask you to put in front of you while taking the exam or they come and make any noise cleaning up any other station while taking exam. I get easily distracted and I hate it but it does not help them doing this. They should ensure the things in front of you are good b4 one start and leave. read more

A friend studied the materials for months & did very well on all the quizzes & exams. She felt very confident preparing for the exam, but upon taking the actual RE exam she felt lost & it seems most of the questions on the exam she has never seen before. I have been very disappointed by First Tuesdays' 45 hr CA license renewal. I am shocked to find so many "editorial" comments included with the material. The Due Diligence and Disclosures material refer to sellers as "greedy" and buyers as "permissive". The context was one which I have experienced and my sellers were not "greedy". This is just an example of their biased material. My husband is doing the Economics program. That too is full of bias and editorial comments. One section states the government is the "employer of last resort" and the government is responsible for stimulating the economy and job growth. That is opinion, definitely NOT fact. Whether the material is referring to sellers, buyers, the agents, or the government, First Tuesday's material is rife with editorial and biased comments. I happen to agree with some of the comments, but that is not the point. I signed up for the CA license renewal program and expect only factual information required to take and pass the license renewal exam. One other point, the editorial/biased material is smoothly incorporated with the factual material, so it is unclear where the propaganda ends and the "real" information begins. Side note: I have also found several grammatical errors. First Tuesday does a great job marketing - I received multiple emails and marketing material by mail, soliciting my business for the license renewal classes. Too bad their product is not as good as their marketing material. I will definitely be letting the First Tuesday editorial staff and CA DRE know my thoughts. read more

I took their correspondence courses (read the books then took the tests online) for the three courses that I was required to take for my salesperson license, and I'm going to continue to use them for the courses I need for my brokers' exam as well. The books are pretty dense legal texts. If you want a course that really simplifies learning, this might not be for you. If you want a course that covers just about everything and leaves you with a collection pretty thorough reference material for the future, this is for you. The tests for each course are open book, and you only need 60%. Since the questions are verbatim from the text and you can use "find" on your e-book to pinpoint the section, the courses are basically not failable. While they helped prepare me for the licensing exam (which I passed), and more importantly, to practice real estate, I still needed a separate, focused prep for the licensing exam whose focus was kind of different. Their licensing exam prep book, especially the vocabulary section, was essential to my preparation. I also used the Barron's book to fill in some of the vocab that First Tuesday didn't cover. Many of the questions on their practice tests came up on the exam. Memorize all of the times (i.e. you've got 3 days to do this, 21 days to file that, etc.) that are listed in the prep book. My only real complaint is that the books were out of date. Many laws changed following the real estate bubble pop, but you'd have to click on their hundreds separate update links and piece it together for yourself. Most of these changes had little bearing on the BRE licensing exam though. read more

They sell their continue ed service as low cost. But their text (online) is not helpful or interactive at all. The search are ineffective when it only highlights the topics covered but nothing else; ie; "equity purchase", "unconscionable advantage", "principal disputes". No definitions, no links, no assistance at all. Then they cut the quizzes into sections. Making it even more difficult to toggle between chapters. Extra confusing, too, when they also change names from textbook to quiz; "cancellation of agreement" to "release and cancellation of employment agreement", "Investors" to "Buyers looking to Invest"(I am using the last example to mock the test cuz many of these questions were this ridiculous). I passed first try!!! I liked the materials and quizzes provided. Some questions were word for word on the test. I used the online format for test prep. I didn't read the books for the certificates, just open booked it December 2014. Waited a year, studied quizzes and tests and passed. Whew!! I spoke to customer service twice and they were helpful answering questions I had. read more

Signed up for the First Tuesday Live Crash Course last Saturday and PASSED the CA broker exam the following Tuesday! The material was relevant and up to date (course material edition was recently updated a few months ago). The tips and practice questions were very similar making the exam easy and stress free. For those of you who have used one of these required education trainings for CE in the past; you have experienced that you have to sit a few minutes each section, even if you read fast and already know this stuff. Well, usually, if you space out, or have to leave or take a call; you only have to re-sit through that 2 or 3 minute section. This course makes you go back for 7 or 8 of those sections and you have to re-sit for 20 or 30 minutes. On top of that, their IT is so bad, that the course goes down for 4 to 6 hours at a time, completely screwing up your schedule. Don't let the cheap fee fool you, this is a complete screw job. Find another course. They also tricked me saying I completed classes with them before, which was bull$#it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! What a joke. read more

They are ok to get certificates but don't use their stuff to prepare for the state exam because I used their book and study for 8 weeks and when I went to take the state exam, there was only about 5 questions I knew out of a 150. I told them that and they more or less said to bad. So they don't back their product up. Now i will have to pay 60 dollars to retake the test, 200 dollars for a crash course and take another day off for work to take the test. So they cost me a lot of money for trusting them. I was able to do my reading wherever I went as it includes the paper textbook, online and CD-Rom----very flexible, won't find anything better. I ordered my 45 hour continuing education courses on 10/04/13. As of today 10/18/13 I have yet to receive my material. First Tuesday through my r.e. associates claim their credibility. As expecting my material(s) to arrive here in Northern CA or so I thought, I find this hard to believe. First Tuesday's claim of 5-7 business shipping day's is misleading for myself any way. It's annoying when checking my p.o. box that the courses I've ordered have never arrived as expected. Today is 10/18/13 and asked for a full refund of my credit card charges. Also, while taking their online courses I was constantly blown off the site which was keeping track of the hours spent reading materials. This is crap. I just paid for my next renewal and tried to start my online class while on vacation in the Dominican Republic, and guess what? ACCESS DENIED!! I just finished traffic school online here, am doing all of my personal banking online here, but I can't even access First Tuesday for a course I just paid for. This is beyond ridiculous, they need to fix it or fire some paranoid people! read more

THANK YOU FIRST TUESDAY. I have used their online study programs for the past 20+ years and they never let me down. In fact, I always passed with near perfect scores which I credit FIRST TUESDAY's well organized study books and practice exams for my success. I have to say that I made it a point to set aside QUIET TIME for myself whenever my exams came around again - which years ago use to be every 4 years, but after the new laws, it became every 2 years for loan officers. I think maybe too many people think that they don't have to study because they have been in the business to long, or don't plan ahead, and then blame FIRST TUESDAY when they have problems. I can just say that they worked like a charm for me every time. I'm now finally retired, but just referred my niece to the program because she is interested in becoming a property manager for her income property..... I would just like to add that EVERY TIME I was taking my exam, there were ALWAYS other professionals (doctors, lawyers, etc.) who were taking the exam for the 2nd and 3rd time because they had trouble passing. I only had a high school diploma and the exam staff were always amazed at my high scores. I am no genius BY FAR, but I just studied every time because I didn't want to go back and spend my time and money doing it over. So I just suggest that you use those materials that you purchase from FIRST TUESDAY and take advantage of the practice exams and you will do fine as well -- JUST BELIEVE!. In fact, I relied more on the practice exams than I did trying to study all those books; and thTHEN I went back to the books for the questions that I got wrong on the practice exams. First off I admit my part in waiting till the last minute to take the online exams. What I thought was that since I had received the printed materials over three weeks before my license expired there would be no problem with reading the books and taking the exams any time before then. When I logged in and completed my first exam I found out that I had to wait 24 hours between each fifteen hour section to complete the exams. My understanding of the wait time was so that people couldn't order the materials and complete them in the same day. Since I had received the materials over three weeks ago this didn't seem to make sense to me. So I called first tuesday (call was made 2/14/18 at approx. 1:30 PM) to ask about their policies and to see what could be done. If I can't renew on time it will cost me an additional $150.00. The person who answered the phone almost immediately became defensive and rude. Repeatedly interrupted me, raised his voice and spoke over me. When I raised my voice to tell him to stop talking over me he hung up. I have used first tuesday for previous renewals of my sales and brokers license and recommended them to others. While I found that their materials were not of the best quality I did feel it was a cost effective and convenient way to meet the CE requirements for renewal. This was my first experience with their customer service personnel and will be my last. This is no way to treat a repeat customer. Shame on you. read more
