If you're looking to get your car smogged for DMV registration this is the place. This place is located on Vehicle Drive and Coloma Rd. Sort of hidden. I'm pretty sure it's a 1 man show but he's super fast like (10min fast) especially cause it was over 100 outside Yuck I was required to have the regular smog test for my vehicle. You can give them a call if you are required to do that extra test, as I am not sure that they do that here? But I did get to use a $10 coupon and my price was $58 out the door. Rude isn't the word for this guy! Sent me away the first time and told me to replace every bulb in the car. Cost hundreds of dollars, took two days! I came back and of course he was rude again and said he did not trust me to come off at him if he found anything wrong with the car. Ignorant with no customer service skills. I called Friday night, getting prices from all the smog stations in the Rancho area-there's a ton. Average price for my 02 SUV was $60 (test+certificate). There were a few coupons in the Penny Saver, but of course, the one for First Stop expired (it would've been $39, but I think that's for a car, not an SUV). Anyways, he quoted me $48 out the door. Cool. He opened at 8am Saturday. As I pulled in at 8:15am, he was doing another car, but he came to my car to greet me. He said "You called me yesterday? I told you $48?" At first I thought, "oh, here we go...let's screw over the female driver." But turned out, he gave me $20 off his posted price. Excellent! He had me fill out a short form and said I could wait inside. I was there maybe a half hour at the most. I highly recommend this place for a test-only shop. And call first! read more

A hidden gem of a place. I stumbled upon this Smog Check Only location which is a off of Coloma near Sunrise several years ago while needing to smog one of our 5 or 6 cars that my family drives around. The waiting room is not fancy but the service is excellent. The owner comes out to greet you as soon as you start walking to the office if he is not in the middle of a smog check. He writes up the estimate, takes your keys, comes back 15 or so minutes later saying you have passed. I don't know how he does it as we drive older cars, 88-00s, and I always come in crossing my fingers and after paying a reasonable sum, drive away happy. I know he just give the results of the of what the smog check machinery is reading but I am afraid of going somewhere else and breaking the streak. read more

A kind Iranian man appears to own this place with another partner who is Iranian. Man number 1 is very gentile, honest and quick. The other, not so much. The cool thing(s) are that it's probably one of the cheapest smogs in town, but also if your car fails, you can get a deal. He allowed me to bring the car in within 2 weeks for another smog for FREE since it failed the first time. Who else does that? read more

The only place I go when I need to smog a vehicle. Been coming here for more than 10 years. He always recognizes me and gives me the most discounted special he is running. The office is about what you would expect for a sole proprietorship. But the AC works great and he is fast. There is a Starbucks or food within walking distance if he has a couple cars ahead of you. We moved away two years ago but I still drive back to this place for smogging (its not terribly far). I have never had a problem with the customer service, and the man even remembers me even though I think I'm only in there every other year. They offer a web coupon but gave me the discount without having the coupon with me and i think he gives it to everyone. Needed smog to transfer title. I have come to this location twice before-received excellent service. The man last time was very helpful, gave me a discount I hadn't asked for which was great! Unfortunately the experience I had today was the POLAR OPPOSITE. Brought my Grandmother with me and a different man "helped" me than before-said he was the owner.. I hadn't mentioned I had a coupon from their webpage before handing over my keys. Considering my last visit, didn't think it mattered-boy was I wrong! Apparently that was enough to set him off 'cause when I DID mention it, he became VERY nasty. He told me it was too late, he had already written it up and he wasn't honoring my coupon. I told him Im a returning customer and have never had trouble before. Pulled up his website, showed him the coupon for $45 out the door-still no budge. I said he was being incredibly unreasonable, especially for being a BBB accredited business owner. He then proceeded to get loud, asking me if I was threatening him. Saying he didn't care about BBB, he was the owner and he'd fire them. This went on for a couple minutes UNTIL ANOTHER CUSTOMER WALKED IN! Then, just like that he grabbed a pen and changed the price to the $45. On my way out with my Grandma the owner shakes this new customers paperwork at me shouting "See! He has a coupon, I give him $45 price!" Fricken ridiculous! I will NEVER recommend a business like that. I HIGHLY recommend you NEVER come here! Very rude, abrasive and gave me the Middle Eastern/European hand gesture of dismissal. All I did was drive up in my 1992 Ford Van. He was angry to begin with. I did not even say a word. He approach my car and said: "you have to take that off." The carpet between the two bucket seats. This is going to cost you a lot. I was taken back because in the past years he wanted to buy my Toyota that I had smogged. Perhaps it was just a bad day.....but to take it out on a customer who has brought you business and has not said more than 2 words. I will go elsewhere. You should never treat another abusively. Went to First Stop with some interesting issues. First off, the tech (who I believe was the owner) was very knowledgeable re: emissions components and was willing to discuss with me some check engine light issues I'd been having in plain language. As for the test, he was quick (my truck passed!) and he again took time to discuss with me the on-board diagnostic codes he observed, etc. On a nontechnical note, the guy was just really helpful and friendly, as well as obviously very competent.
