I have just completed a major update and rework of my apartment's A/V selecting Ron Jones a by virtue of the strong favorable reviews of his work. I now find myself amongst his growing universe of satisfied clients. My work entailed a fair amount of structural upset revolving around opening walls and crawl spaces in order to pull cabling and subsequently requiring repairs and painting for restoration purposes. While somewhat surprised by the extent and increased cost of same (what else is new?), I was very impressed with the team of subcontractors brought in to effect this portion of the project from both a quality and reliability point of view, i.e. they showed up when they said they would and completed the work as later represented. The electronics portion of the project also proved to be challenging in terms of the need to deal with some video interface issues which required extensive troubleshooting on the part of Ron and his subcontractor. However they persevered through what proved to be a several week delay in getting this portion of the system debugged and operational and always showing up on time and proving to be committed, capable and highly ethical in properly closing out the job. There should be no concerns as to Ron's grasp and execution of the systems design and component selection and interfaces. Cost overruns that arose include unforeseen construction problems and the changing of the scope of the job (adding equipment above and beyond the initial system configuration) and are no different from what one encounters when doing a home remodel and/or the usual debugging of complex systems and attendant component interfaces. I would fault Ron on his handling of the instruction portion of the finished product as he does not allow for some of us with limited technology experience to easily and comfortably grasp operational sequencing of,in my case, the audio portion of the project. However, here too he obliged with the requisite handholding in the interest of customer satisfaction and subsequent endorsement. All said, it is important for me to emphasize that he will treat his client fairly as to unforseen cost overruns and will personally absorb additional costs in the interest of being fair and delivering a quality product to a satisfied customer. read more

TLDR: Ron gave us the best AV and home automation experience of our lifetime. It started with a simple requirement - to design a cabinet that would properly fill up the opening in our family room meant for a TV / entertainment system. Based on a friend's recommendation, we went to Valet Custom Cabinets showroom in Danville where we met a very gentle professional by name Jerry Archer. He was quick to understand our requirement and he suggested Ron (the owner of First Reflection Audio Video) for our AV work. After learning that Jerry & Ron had worked on many successful projects, it didn't take us much time in deciding to go ahead with Ron. It was clear to us from the very first discussion that Ron was on the top of his game, a thorough professional who cared for even the minutest of the details. He spent copious amount of time with us and took full ownership of our project. He built trust with us and we let him design the entire layout and also choose the right equipment (Monitor Audio speakers, Sonos system, light controls, Nest thermostats etc.) and include RTI home automation solution. One of the tricky elements of this project was the adjustable custom TV mount that would hold our 65" LG TV. To our relief, Ron established direct contact with the TV seller (Best Buy) and made sure the TV installation was smooth. Ron made a detailed estimate of the project and gave us the freedom of choosing alternatives and upgrades. He was constantly in touch with us throughout the project, making several personal visits and exchanging a lot of emails and text messages. Once Jerry's team finished installing the cabinets, the exciting day of Ron's installation came. It was a lot of work and Ron handled it all with a smiling face. Over the next two weeks, we had to make a few tweaks and Ron handled it with patience and enthusiasm. My first interaction with Ron began when I was working at his chiropractor's office as the massage therapist. At that time he was working for a large corporation and dealing with the stresses of working in the corporate environment. When he told me he was going to quit the corporate life and begin a business providing audio/video solutions, I knew he would be successful in this effort. Working with Ron on our AV/network setup has been one of the best experiences I've had in regards to our home improvement. Ron is a professional, friendly, flexible, courteous, and respectful. When speaking with Ron about our setup, it was immediately apparent that this is his passion. You can't help, but get excited when discussing all the possible configurations. I never felt overwhelmed anytime during our project because Ron was on top of everything. From selecting equipment, to pre-wiring, to installation, and even now post-installation. I'm happy to say that John met our expectations every step of the way. For example, John positioned our ceiling speakers perfectly the first time around unlike the contractors who installed our recessed lighting; they took up to three times to get it right. Our setup is everything I wanted: network that provides maximum speed in every part of the house, 4k security cameras, ceiling speakers (3 zones + 2 future expansion zones), subwoofer, and the best part no visible wires. Everything terminates into a cool looking rack in our closet. There were a few bumps in the road, but Ron quickly sorted out any issues at his cost. We had a faulty transceiver that he replaced with an upgraded unit. He covered the extra cost as well as the labor of the installer. Ron is the definition of top notch customer service. Initially, we engaged First Reflection to simply help us design a home theater system for our new detached media room addition. The owner, Ron Jones, not only came up with the design, but he also provided a comprehensive network plan that incorporated the A/V home theater with the wi-fi network that allows for us to stay connected between our home and the media room. After listening to what we wanted, Ron was very detailed in his hardware configuration, and always provided detailed accounting of all the costs to fit our budget and what services he would be providing. To ensure a smooth installation, he provided guidance on what needed to be done prior to his arrival, which we really appreciated given how little we know about networking and home A/V installation. We love Ron! My husband and I went looking for someone who could help us with our TV and Audio in our home. Ron is a true professional. He handled a project at our vacation home while we were living out of country. He did this entirely through phone/email. In fact, I only met him live once it was complete. Despite my never ending questions via email, he patiently responded in both a timely manner and with accurate details (e.g. we had over 250 email exchanges according to my inbox!). The project started mostly A/V focused with a basic TV and interior/exterior Sonos system, but ultimately morphed into a home networking projects, including running cables for security cameras, extra Cat 6 cabling for fixed line connections throughout house and two extra wireless access points to ensure the WiFi bubble would cover the entire property. Ron and his team are standouts in this field. In looking to upgrade and add to our A/V setup, I spoke with several vendors. Ron was by FAR the most responsive and most thoughtful and I'm very glad we chose to work with him (and he with us). In addition to updating equipment for a 7.1 projector system in our basement and a smaller system in our family/playroom, Ron helped us to design and assemble a wireless Sonos system that allows us to (very simply) control music in our kitchen, living room and backyard. All three of these systems look and sound great. Ron built our surround sound system Incorporated with customer cabinetry, from initial design to final installation to post customer service. He is very knowledgeable in his field, and very detail oriented. I give him five star for the whole process. 1. Ron listens to our need closely without trying to push higher end products to us, yet still make reasonable suggestions. He designed the whole system within our budget and stick to the price. There was one component that was discontinued. Ron upgraded it for us without any additional charge. 2. He did a lot of home work before installation to make sure everything works together perfectly with our cabinetry. The result: everything goes smoothly without any issues. 3. During installation, Ron not only fine tuned our system to optimal effect, but also went extra miles to sort out and hide the jungle of wires that came with the system, including those from our existing components, even the ones from the cabinetry installation. Ron is great. We had a very challenging upgrade to an existing AV setup that required rewiring, new equipment and coordination of systems including a movie server, Sonos, and multiple Comcast boxes. The outputs were located in different rooms and outdoor zones that needed to be programmed with new controls. If it sounds complicated, it was. Ron managed the process and my requirements with professionalism and a deep base of knowledge. I am sure that the in progress changes I made would have sent other guys over the deep end, but he just kept rolling with the punches. All of the work was quoted in detail and approved before execution which is something that has become rare in my experience these days. Too many times there is a vague guesstimate and some time and materials request. Not with Ron. Ron Jones and his company, First Reflection Audio Video, were great to work with in a complicated job at our home. We upgraded the TV monitors in our living room and kitchen and moved the existing TV's to the master bedroom and guest room. With that we added Apple TV's to all 4 sets and upgraded our WiFi network to hard wire most of our Sonos system, to which we added two additional speakers in the back yard. We had some issues with WiFi disconnections at random that occurred before the project; those are virtually gone now with the improved network configuration. Ron did not give up on it until he got it right and was extremely responsive to any inquiries or requests we had. AV people you can trust to get the job done right are really hard to find. I love his enthusiasm for programming my universal remote to my specific needs, even making changes remotely via the web. My sub is now perfectly equalized for the room it is in. For years I have managed my own AV issues, and am fortunate to have met Ron. I hired First Reflection Audio Video to install a new audio/video system in my family room. They ran cables under my sub-floor to a new location in the room, mounted a 77" TV and Sonos soundbar to the wall, and set up an in-house audio system powered by a Sonos Amp. Everything was hard-wired to my existing network. Ron is a pleasure to work with. He is extremely knowledgable and detail-oriented, and this shows in the final result which I am very happy with. The TV and soundbar are mounted beautifully and the system works as it should. He even contacted me after the installation to make sure everything was working fine, which is a nice touch. Ron installed our system last fall. I'm not sure what happened to my husband's post on Yelp of his very positive review after installation. At any rate I'd like to add a follow-up. Recently , We had two political viewing parties. At both events our guests commented on the sound clarity. I guess many people have nice big TVs, but not our sound quality. Even the woman who had to sit right next to one of the speakers was impressed. People were in the back of the kitchen and could hear well without blasting those sitting close up. In addition, Ron immediately got back to my email query about how to show a video directly from a website by downloading some free software. He told us he'd be there for us to answer questions. Wow! For years we were frustrated that we rarely listened to music in our house, which had in ceiling speakers in most rooms from the previous owner, because we just couldn't come up with a sufficiently simple system.
