I have worked with Mark at Pacific Wired on several installations, and he is top notch. I had gone down a rabbit hole spending 10s of thousands of dollars on a complex installation that just didn't work right. Mark sorted everything out, and got everything working perfectly. When I have a problem, he is responsive, and helps me troubleshoot. Most importantly, he is fair and does not run up bills on hardware or installations without explaining everything in a thoughtful consultation. He will even test solutions first before having me commit to expensive installs. I have been burned working with more established "high end" installation shops where you just have to trust what the guys are telling you and then never hear from them again. Not with Pacific Wired. I would recommend them to anyone, and will not go anywhere else for home theater, Wi-Fi, or any other home tech needs. read more

Our house comes with the pre-installed Control 4. Throughout the years, it lost communication with the front door security camera and some lighting controls. The previous dealer hired by Lennar is in Antioch. It's a struggle to get their attention as we are in Fremont. The straw that broke the camel's back was the cable modem change. Granted that I was too naive to believe that I could handle the change, the Control 4 system never intended to work with me. Fortunately the team from Pacific Wired was very professional and supportive. Chris and Jacob not only helped me understand the root cause of the problem, but also made several proposals to solve the issue either temporarily or permanently. Bottom line, Jacob is the best technical guy that I have found among all the dealership. He is experienced and very knowledgeable. He asked a lot of questions upfront, then investigated everything remotely. This small team is super focused on providing the best possible customer service they can. I had a total botch project with a company that shall remain nameless - let's call them "H". Pacific Wired came in and fixed their many errors. They NEVER tried to sell me on extra hardware - in fact they were (politely) appalled by some of the excess hardware I had been suckered into buying. Unlike "H" they provide 100% free follow up maintenance / service and are prompt. Jacob is one of the best customer service people I have ever worked with - knows his stuff and when he (rarely) isn't familiar with the issue he self-studies quickly - and not on my dime. Pacific Wired installed a TV in my moms house yesterday. She has finally graduated to a larger TV (a whopping 42") and it was imperative that it be attached to the wall for her safety and to minimize space. She is able to pull the TV away from the wall and turn it towards the other side of the room. This allows her to exercise with her fav Utube channel and watch from different angles. Chris from Pacific Wired, was extremely knowledgeable about the equipment and professional in every way. My feisty 89 yr old mom is embracing her new setup and was delighted with Chris. I purchased my first new TV after 16+ years and had no idea how to hang it or make it talk to Comcast for streaming. Called Pacific Wired for help - they did a perfect job! Listened to my wants/needs and finished everything in just a couple of hours. Larry came to my house, hung the TV on the wall in the perfect spot (which was different than the spot I was thinking - he was right in the end, so I'm glad I took the suggestion), hooked up a new modem, and communicated with Comcast (one of my dreaded tasks in life) so I didn't need to even deal with that. Once everything was installed, he changed the settings for the best A/V experience possible and I was left with a gorgeous TV and way too many apps to choose from. The (TV) world was at my feet, with no effort on my part at all. The router he chose was the right price and so much faster than what we had before. One of the best contractors, maybe the best contractor, I have ever worked with. Chris and their team just know their stuff. I had five (yes, FIVE) low voltage wiring/home theater installers look at my job and all of them were full of reasons why they had to run cables outside the house. Chris got my job (home theater and sound install plus 20 CAT 6 ports throughout two stories) done invisibility and elegantly. Every other contractor wanted to punch holes in plaster and leave, with me being responsible for finding a second set of contractors to fix. Chris and his crew patched and painted when they were done, making the whole thing quick, painless, and (most importantly) look absolutely seamless. Despite the higher level of service, Chris's rates were nearer the low end of the contractors I brought in. Chris himself is a joy to work with - punctual, responsible, technically great and well informed. I'm not a huge fan of a company who's employees (Larry) try to take advantage of senior citizens. My parents (both in their 80's) requested this company to come give a quote to install 3 tv's. Nothing too complicated. Apparently Larry saw a bunch of dollar signs and convinced them they need $5000 dollars worth of extra equipment and labor. I'm just thankful they ran it by me first and I was able to stop it. Shame on you !!! read more

The first time we called, the Comcast guy was stumped about how to run a cable to the section of our living room where we wanted a TV. They installed my home theater system as part of my home remodel, and I was extremely pleased with the overall installation. I was very pleased with his recommendation on components. He set me up so I could use my older receiver which was a cost savings for me. HIs staff were very organized in the installation, especially careful and clean. After the installation, the owner Chris told me if I had any problems or questions to call him. I have called him twice witin a 5 month span and he's been out to fix two problems that were not caused by him but by my electrician. He never charged me for coming out, saying it was part of his warranty and service for the 1st year. I highly recommend him. We are extremely dissatisfied with the service, or lack thereof, we've received from Pacific Wired. They installed a system which cost us over $3,000 to improve our Wifi. The first time we needed service it took them two weeks to call back, at which time I was told they lost one of their installers and they were very behind. They promised a call back on Monday. Another week went by, and Chris called. By that time, I had hired another Company to do the repairs. Now our Wifi is not working upstairs again. I spoke with them Friday, explaining my last unsuccessful attempt at service, and I was told, without fail, someone would be contacting me on Monday. It is now Wednesday at 5:30pm, and I haven't heard from anyone. My husband and I are completely unhappy with their service and lack of follow through. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I left a message and they responded the next day and were right on the ball setting up an appointment to come out and see what our problem was with our old setup. Chris and his helper Manny installed my new projectorin my home theater replacing a 13 year old CRT beast. They worked until 9PM on Christmas eve and had to return for another morning to complete the installation which proved to be more complicated than originally thought in order to run the HDMI and power cables in the ceiling through many crossing joists. They were very flexible and accomodating the spur of the moment decisions on extra little jobs like moving and remounting the room lighting control plate into one of my seats armrest. Chris Hinton is fantastic! I would recommend him to anyone for installation of TVs, stereos or home theaters. He comes well prepared (cables, tools, vacuum for cleanup, etc), is super knowledgable, efficient and a really nice guy. He offers options, makes suggestions about things you might not have thought about and answers any questions you have. I found Hinton Home Theaters right here on Yelp! I looked at other reviews of local audio/video installers and was not as impressed. Upon meeting Chris, I immediately had a sense of trust and awareness from him. He went out of his way to accommodate my schedule(self employed) and cater to my personal requests. I even had the unfortunate incident of realizing my beautiful LCD had been damaged by my movers prior to Chris coming out to mount it. Chris even took the time to talk to the moving company to help me with my claim to validate that they had , in fact , damaged my TV! Chris then made himself available after hours so that I could contact him when I went to buy my replacement TV. He gave me sound advice for my home theater install as well , and my TV install job was an 11 out of 10! We had our Pioneer Elite receiver die. Desperate we looked to yelp for help. Pacific Wired came right out and evaluated the situation and gave us the bad news...Equipment was old, receiver was fried and wiring was a mess. We could never figure out what cord was going to what...Chris and Larry are amazing. Gave us quotes for several items and phases. We were taken back by the costs initially, but needed our tv back so went with Phase One which was a new receiver, new blu-ray DVD, new wiring (cleaned up the mess), new remote and new power source. WOW...they came a week later and spent the entire day installing, cleaning up, testing and delivered sound like we have never heard (seems one of the ceiling surround sound speakers had a short which caused the whole problem and they fixed that). We are so happy with their work and them (professional, fair, efficient & knowledgeable and just really nice people). The total costs were fair and in line with great service. I would highly recommend them and we will have them back for Phase 2 (outside speakers) & 3 (internet) read more

This is the second time we have used Pacific Wired. The first time we had televisions installed and this time we had them perform a serious update of all of our audio/visual equipment. We had a meeting to discuss what was important to us; what music sources we wanted to use and how to listen to different music in different rooms through installed speakers, where we needed stronger internet signals, and that we wanted front door cameras for extra security. Then, based on our input, Larry showed us what equipment we needed and the prices. He was very helpful in explaining different options and when to pay more and when to pay less for equipment based on our desires. We ended up going with a Control 4 central unit that can be accessed from our phones, iPads, computer and main screen installed in our entry. Chris, who started this company and is the nicest guy, knows all the ins and outs of Control 4 and was at my house helping with installation. And lastly, Jacob came to program all of the equipment. He is fantastic. He made sure we understood everything and answered all questions with patience. Even after he left and we had additional questions, he answered everything by phone or text.
