Prior to taking my CCW renewal through First Priority I had utilized Keith's FFL services on a few occasions and purchased ammo. He is such a cool, experienced and knowledgeable dude so I was stoked when I saw him on the list of CCW class vendors. I went in for the shooting portion pretty nervous but surprised us both and shot well (hadn't been to the range in too long), especially after he identified my trigger finger issue (instilled in me by a different instructor!). I went to First Priority Security for my 16 hour CCW course. I got a response from Keith (instructor/owner) a couple hours after I sent him a email and voicemail. 7 days later I was at his house taking the class. I got lucky and took the class solo. He was very welcoming when I entered through the door. The lesson that I learned that day gave me confidence to carry. There were many things that I thought was not allowed in the state of California but the course changed my mind with facts and laws that will back you up in the event you do use your firearm. The only dumb question you got is the one you never asked. I asked many questions and senecios, and he backed it up with true life experience and data. Keith has 23+years of law enforcement experience. It doesn't get any better than getting an answer with data, facts, and life experience. After the class he will be your instructor forever. Keith Brown was awesome and has extensive knowledge of the laws and firearms. He presents the material in an way that keeps you engaged and interested. I'm not sure about the pricing because I was already sold on Mr. Keith based on his professionalism and customer service but I think it's definitely worth it, even if you find someone cheaper. Cheaper does not equal better and you get what you pay for. Mr. Keith clarified much of the misinformation told by other instructors. It's not worth saving a few bucks if you end up in jail listening to some of these other instructors. He law enforcement career that spanned over two decades enables him to pass a lot of his knowledge on to you during the class. His hours are convenient also as he is available 7 days a week. He also offers other classes and services that I plan on utilizing later. If it has anything to do with guns, I definitely recommend Keith. read more

Bought a hand gun via GunBroker and used Keith as FFL. Got a call right away from Keith and had a great conversation and the process to secure the pistol. Walked me through the whole thing. Met him on a Friday and very accommodating with his time. Went through the background check questionaire and filed some forms and signatures. Additionally, Keith is fully stocked. I know Mr. Brown in one capacity and was pretty sure he would be a good gun instructor. I was amazed by his relentless focus on safety, his knowledge about guns, and his patience with fearful women. My mother, sister, and I took the gun safety class and my sister and I took the Basic Pistol class. It was only the second time I held a gun in my hand, albeit a realistic looking BB gun. I was petrified and once I stopped shaking, I was able to focus on the target. My previous attempts to inquire about guns from conventional gun stores have been so disappointing - not adequate information given, long waits that when my name was called - the initial screening question and the assurance that they have what I was looking for - was all forgotten, and they try to talk you to buy something they recommend you buy, rather than help you get what you need. Well, we submitted forms for a doj fbi background check, we sent our employee there, and they did CA only, no fbi check. When I called they insisted they had done it correctly and whatever we asked for, then eventually checked the form and admitted they didn't transfer the info correctly and we had checked it on our form. No offer of refund, even though this is completely useless to us and means a vital person cannot start work on time now. So we are going to have someone who can't work because we chose the wrong company to do this important task. You can't make these kinds of basic errors on something as important as a background check. No idea what these folks are doing in the security business. The positive reviews are almost all for firearm training. For background check, we found them worse than useless and threw us off schedule and down a key person. It isn't right, and instead of an apology I got a bunch of attitude and hung up on. read more

The hubby and I both went to train with Keith and get our licenses. It was a comprehensive training that left us both feeling comfortable and confident that we can safely handle a gun. Keith is the best!! I scheduled an hour with him for 1 on 1 firearms training. I'm not a total noob, but recently purchased some new firearms and wanted to have someone on standby to review my safety, range etiquette, firearm handling process etc. Although I still have alot to work on Keith helped me with some critical issues such as grip, sighting, breathing etc. to accelerate my improvement. My wife and I along with another couple took our basic pistol course through Keith at FPSC, with our wives also taking the test for their Safety Certificates. We thoroughly enjoyed the class, Keith is a very charismatic speaker and he interjects plenty of light humor as well as real-world experiences into his teaching and discussion and that really helps to keep students engaged and entertained. Several hours of theory before getting to put your hands on a firearm sounds like it could be tedious, but it's really not because Keith is very easy to listen to, the time literally flies by. It was great that we practiced with airsoft guns first since our wives were a little apprehensive about a handgun to begin with, so by the time we got to the range for some real shooting, not only were they ready to try but they did great and walked away with not only a lot of confidence but they actually really enjoyed the experience and are chomping at the bit now to get back to the range and practice some more.
