Cool spot with a great idea for pouring your own beer so you can sample numerous beers. I didn't have any food, but it looks good. Also, The beer selection is great, they even currently have Bells Russian Imperial Stout which isn't distributed in Colorado. I downgraded to 3 stars because it is expensive for the beer. I have NEVER experienced worse customer service. EVER! The woman that "greeted" us had a lot of attitude and couldn't even look up as we stood there. Then my girlfriend's dad didn't have his ID and we were almost asked to leave. Once that was all figured out almost 2 hours later the Manager came over and told us we were more than welcome to leave, as the girl at the front desk must have been unknowingly, upset that we asked if it could slide that a 60 year old man didn't have his ID. There was no altercation in the first place and the manager was 100% out of line with the way he treated us. I will NEVER go back here and plan to continue letting everyone I know how terrible our experience was. read more

I struggle with this place because the concept is awesome. What I don't like Is if you mess up your pour, you can't redo it or send it back. The prices, if you break it down, are pretty comparable to a normal bar tended bar (sans gratuity), but the risks of screwing up your beer is too high. read more

Overall a very fun, casual place to go, with a unique service- pour your own beer! This concept has been working in wine bars for years, but I had yet to see a diy beer joint, until the other day. We went mid week, around 3pm. Ample selection of beer, one cider and a couple wines all on tap. You show your ID, start a tab with your credit card, they give you a bracelet that is read electronically at each beer selection, and bam! You're good to go! Just select your beer and pour away! You pay by the ounce and the system keeps track of it for you. When you are done, just give back your bracelet and pay your tab. Fun, efficient, and it gives the consumer some control. I like this place. I like pouring the amount of beer I want. I like being able to taste and read about the beers at my leisure. I really liked the pancakes-probably some of the best I've had. However, spacing is awkward, as is the sun. I think this would be best to come here in the middle of the week. It's a fun place to take people from out of town who like beer. read more

Ok I am only reviewing the beer stop not the food. I love the change of the beers love this place but my eyes cannot see the tiny tiny tv screens that tell me what beer is up. It's winter it got crowded in here and there are too many people at the taps it's hard to see what's going on up at the line. By the way I asked for a paper menu, I get it the beer changes often, but just make the beer menus bigger I'll be happy! read more

Highly recommend for anyone who's slightly indecisive and loves to try everything! They hold a huge range of beers, from wheats, to stouts, to lagers, to IPAs, and even to kombucha! Brought a friend from out of town here so he could try some Colorado beers. Love the concept, you can try as many beers as you like, as much or as little as you want. Super fun way to try a variety of new things. Food was also great. Definitely give the wings a try, some of the best wings I've ever had which I was definitely not expecting. The only down side is the place is a bit cavernous and it's a little loud. We went on a weeknight and there was a decent crowd, I imagine on a weekend it would be super crazy packed. I'd say the concept was cool but this idea has been done before. There are several wine bars that have tried this concept and failed. The taps are too close together and the place where you have to stick your wristband to activate the taps is just awkward and inconvenient. The patio was nice and the food looked pretty good but it was pricey for pub grub. I'll give this place another shot but I wasn't impressed. read more

Great concept but needs some refining. The beer shoots out too foamy and the sensor's are weak because they put a big hunk of wood over the detectors (maybe metal may work better). I don't live in Denver, so I won't be back but it was a great and different way to spend an afternoon while on vacation. read more

First off the concept is awesome and the beers are top notch. The space is very Industrial and set up in a community fashion. Although I tried to spark up a conversation with a couple people, the growing after work local crowd didn't seem too friendly. The staff was friendly and responsive. I ordered the spicy mango chicken wings which did not satisfy my taste buds. They were not spicy by any means and though they were still somewhat moist they were tuff and overcooked. I just went to First Draft for my first time yesterday (Saturday) evening. It was for a friends birthday. The concept is pretty cool, they have a lot of beers to choose from (including ciders and a wine option), and it wasn't overly crowded like some bars can get. I only spent $8, and that was after trying samples 4-5 different beers. I wish they had a better variety of simple light lagers though - most of what they had for lighter options were fruity or wheats. I would go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go again. read more

We were slightly disappointed, frankly. After hearing a couple endorsements from friends and family, we decided to check it out. Maybe I'm old but trying to feel your way through the beer line at times felt akin to waiting in line for the keg at a frat party. Seems like some of the boys may have just turned 21 and/or just recently grew tall enough to reach the taps and they weren't going to let anyone get in their way. But I did admire their fervor and it took me back so I was willing to let it slide. The beer was decent - nothing new really. The gents at the kitchen told us we'd have to wait for about a half hour before we could order while they got caught up from a busy brunch (this was at 5pm.) Then, when we were finally able to order, we were told there was no chicken available which was another disappointment because we came for the half chicken, $22 meal. So instead, at the recommendation of one of the friendly staff members (everyone was in fact very friendly), we went with a couple appetizers - maple fries and grilled shishito peppers (delicious!) - and the pork shoulder sandwich. All in all the food was great despite it not being our first choice, and the staff was very friendly. The only other thing that was a disappointment was that one of the staff members came to all the patrons sitting upstairs and - politely - told us we had about an hour to finish as they had reserved the section for an incoming party, leaving us to feel like we were being kicked out in a way. The good food we had and the friendly employees we encountered were reason enough to make us want to try the place again though. read more

I didn't love the pour it yourself concept. Mainly because I ran into two kicked kegs in a row. It went like this. I poured my first beer and all was well. When I went back to the same tap, the keg was kicked, so I had to go to the counter and get the foam in my glass removed from my tab. I then went back to try another beer, and that one was also kicked, so I had to go back to the counter to have them remove the foam and air charge again. Ok, these things happen, and the counter guy was nice enough. But they never changed out either of those kegs. They stayed kicked the rest of the night. Which left me with a choice of a lot of IPA's. I don't like IPA's. I tried several beers, but little samples were at least $1.50 each. That added up fast. In the end I had a fairly large bill, and I had had one beer. That parts fine but I ordered the brisket sandwich ($14) where the brisket was basically missing (where's the beef?)...the cheese toast and sauce made up the sandwich mostly. Atmosphere is great and the drinks selection is perfect. The food is really good as well. The only thing I don't like is that you're guilted into tipping them for swiping your card. I'm a full time bartender and I get tipped for making drinks for people. When I pour my own beer, get my own glass, and bring my dirty glasses up to the courter I don't think a tip is necessary because I literally get tipped for that part of working at a bar. When I didn't tip comments were made by the person working to make me feel bad. I don't appreciate that aspect of a tap room because I'm doing every part of the process that deserves a tip. Still 5 stars because the employees were nice but they need to understand I'm doing the part that people get tipped for. As a person who literally pays rent and lives off of tips I'm just offended that they're mad I didn't tip. I apologize if this comes off the wrong way but it makes no sense to me at all. This first of its kind beer experience in Denver has you pay by the ounce for your beer. You get a glass and a bracelet and pour your own beer by the ounce. The gives you the opportunity to take a big pour or small pour. The available beers usually covers the gamut of approachable to a little out there. They also serve food, mostly bar snacks. It is really nice to be able to order a soft pretzel while tasting so many different beers. read more

Way fun to try a bunch of different beers and the area you sit in is like a beer garden style room. The beers they chose are obviously the work of a beer nerd.
