We started late at ballroom dancing and it took a while but we love it now. Thank you Alex and First Class Ballroom.

He is encouraging, humble and creative in his teaching modalities. If I'm not doing it right he will quickly find a different way to teach me so that I get the step. He has given me confidence and enjoyment in learning dance. So much that my husband and I are continuing to take private lessons. I can't say enough positives about Premier Dance School. Try it and see for yourself.

He's always very encouraging with his students, and is ready to help you reach your dance goals, whether it be a fun date night with your honey, to learn or improve your social dance skills or even to compete. Group classes are tons of fun, and are a great intro to ballroom dance. Nathan is really good about demonstrating and explaining the steps to new students, while adding variations that challenge more experienced students. If you're looking to learn to dance, or are looking for a new dance home, Premier Ballroom is the place to be! Oh, and gentlemen, just a note - ladies LOVE a man who can dance! (just sayin'...)

I had no background in dance and didn't research any of the options. We completely got lucky that the studio closest to our home was this local gem. Within the first year or two it became more obvious that my daughter was gaining a lot of skills and developing into a successful dancer. Over the last 13 years my daughter has added hours and hours of weekly dance to her schedule, spending most of her time at her second home with her dance family. It has been healthy, supportive, challenging and transformative. My daughter has seriously focused on dance, benefiting from classes in every style (ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, musical theater, hip hop, contemporary) and had great success on their competitive dance team, earning scholarships and invitations to many programs. This even included winning a national competition in 2019. Since the pandemic the faculty has gone above and beyond to keep students safe, connected and progressing, with all of the changing requirements. All of the staff have been wonderful mentors for my children. But the owners Shelley and Kary are incredibly committed, talented artists who take pride in every detail of their studio, classes, productions and responsibilities to care and teach our children. The healthy philosophy of Allegro is, more than ever, something that all children can benefit from; novice, experienced, inexperienced, experienced, all genders and backgrounds. The teachers are capable, prices are affordable and the outcomes are fantastic.

BIG KUDOS! I would like to send a big shout-out to the staff at Emerald City…read moreAthletic Club to go beyond to help a fellow member. I have been going to this establishment for 16 years and I could not be happier. The club put a lot of money into recent renovations and upgrades. It is up to standards with state-of-the-art equipment. Whether a person chooses to use the machinery for cardiovascular purposes, muscle strength, or weight loss, this is the ideal place to achieve your fitness goals! It simply is not possible to walk out the door without feeling a profound sense of accomplishment and better overall health. The best part of all is the staff. I have had Cerebral Palsy all my life. I have had to make do with one wheelchair to use both inside my home and in my car. It was in bad shape. There is a wonderful maintenance lady by the name of Jen H. surprised me and gave me a cool wheelchair that she had at home. This chair was brand new and is a great chair for me to utilize at home. But the kindness and compassion did not stop there. My old wheelchair was in desperate need of an overhaul. She went ahead and ordered me a new seat for the chair and new armrests. Now, I can feel more at ease knowing I have extra reinforcements with new and sturdy material. Now I have both a wheelchair for my house and one for my car that I can use at the gym. That made my life so much easier. Jenn and a courteous staff member by the name of John Y. volunteered their time and installed both items for me right there at the club. The staff is so caring and friendly, and they do put the customer first as you can see. There is also a friendly lady who works at the front desk named Jenny V. who helps me put my wheelchair in my car when I am ready to leave at the end of the day. The staff at this club makes me feel like I matter. They are like family to me. I am committed to being a lifelong member of this gym. I give my highest regards and recommendations to this staff and cannot speak highly enough about them. If you are looking for a new gym, please go to the Emerald City Athletic Club. You will not be disappointed.

The draw for ECA over big places like LA/24 hour was the smaller business vibe & I wanted to "shop local". I also liked the childcare options. 1. when we signed up at the Ballinger Village location with Brody, he made a big show of telling us (my husband and I) how they're a small business and they're not out to get money, he said most of them are just personal trainers or nutritionists, NOT BUSINESSMEN (i remember this line because he repeated it several times). So he encouraged me to sign up for the champions class. I asked specifically if I could cancel if it didn't fit my needs/baby schedule. He said "of course. But I'd recommend you try it for at least 60 days so you can really see if it works for you. And if you still need to cancel, just reach out. We're really chill here." This was near verbatim. 2. After more than a couple months, I found the champions class great for others but not for me/my toddler's schedule so I emailed to cancel which was the ONLY option I was given. And the email response was short, rude, and included a "$299 + tax downgrade fee" for the cancellation. Mind you, I wasn't trying to cancel our membership. Just MY champions access. I told them what Brody had told us just months prior and they absolutely didn't budge. That's fine. It's policy - I get it. But this is totally the kind of stuff big businesses pull and they should be up front. 3. We ended up completely cancelling our memberships (both of us) because we thought this way of business was shady and when you think about the cost and what they offer v. what big gyms offer (LA/24) then you'll realize it's absolutely not worth it. all that talk in the beginning is EXACTLY what it sounds like. a sales pitch. don't be sucked in. oh also. i left a review for ballinger which i think is their newest but i usually go to everett (my husband goes to ballinger and I've been a couple times) - uniquely to the everett location, everything is disgusting. I would NOT shower there if I were you. At least one different machine is broken every week, the bathroom is perpetually wet probably because they have no paper towels. Honestly we go to 24 hour now and it's a breath of fresh air. literally **I will say the teachers at the childcare are above and beyond. I have told everyone I know about our ECA experience and hopefully saved people quite a bit of $$$ but I have nothing negative to say about the teachers at childcare. ** in case my review is too long. read this reddit forum. https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/oanvzy/emerald_city_athletics_a_toxic_manipulative_and/
