You leave feeling accomplished after a thorough workout while dancing to great songs. I wasn't sure what to expect when I came here. It was a bit confusing trying to find the studio. When you enter from street level, you have to go downstairs towards the Underground Dance Studio. You can either dance barefoot or with shoes (wish they could make a rule about which one because my feet always get dirty). The class starts off with some warm up dances and then moves through different types of styles of dancing with each song change. You get to express yourself however you want to. You don't have to do every single move the same way and they encourage movement around the floor. Thankfully there are a bunch of fans around the room because by the 3rd song I'm always sweating. There are no official breaks so step off the dance floor and get water as necessary. Class ends with some stretching and warm cloths with some sort of essential oil. I can't wait til the next class!

I figured I would just try this place out since it was quite close to my home and it had good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at how cheerful and upbeat all the instructors are (I tried Zumba/Hiphop and More than Dance classes and probably have been in classes with 5 different instructors (depending on the day/time you choose to go). What I can say is that all the instructors are have their own styles but are definitely wonderful and will keep you happily dancing. What I particularly like about this place is the christmas lighting and the setting that makes you not feel so self-conscious about what you are doing wrong or how terrible of a dancer you may think you are. I admit that I'm not a naturally good dancer and I have a good time everytime I go there. There are, of course, some people there who can dance like rock stars and look really cool when they dance. However, the instructors there are very encouraging and provide guidance what you can do as a beginner, intermediate or advanced dancers, so you can really just do things at your own level and not care so much about others. It definitely feels liberating to just be able to dance your own style, at your own pace/level, and nobody is judging you on how you look or how weird you dance :). After the package ran out, I ended up signing up for more classes and still go there whenever I find some free time.

My daughter finds her classes as the highlights of her week. She seemed like she was going to be shy, but when I saw her preform last year, she was beaming! Dancing here and with the amazing staff has really helped her with her confidence, among other things. She started when she was 5. She does Triple threat and Debuts and loves all of her teachers. I was very impressed with the Triple threat program last year and the Debut program and been a great warm up to competitions if she decide to audition. During shows, or rehearsals or competitions, the staff has been beyond helpful with letting the parents watch the shows, and taking care of the young girls backstage. They have answered all of my questions in such a timely manner, no matter how silly the subject manner is or if they had actually already told me the answer and I missed it. They have always been polite, friendly and professional. I can't express enough how grateful I am to this studio for helping my daughter start an active and healthy hobby as well as gain some confidence! Backstage has truly helped her find a love for dance! I would highly recommend this studio!

There is a man who lives on the first floor, right outside the doors, who is a senior with disabilities. I am on the third floor, and every time they wake me up. Although the instructor was a substitute, I felt the quality of the lesson was not diminished at all. Pace of the lesson is beginner friendly, and even though it took me the first half of the hour to adjust and remember the vibe of dancing, I was still able to pick up the fundamentals and feel confident in myself dancing a few 8 counts at the end without hesitation. I had a great time, even with the fact that the class was really small (about 6 people), as it normally feels a bit intimidating for me to dance in small groups, at least for now. The only issue for me is the commute as I don't have a car to commute from downtown Seattle, but whenever my friend with a car wants to do more dance lessons, this will certainly be the first place I will think of! Besides, this is one of my coworkers go-to dance studio in the past before he moved closer to the city, and he has mentioned that before covid, some lessons are so popular you have to pay in advance to secure a spot!

Their instructors are very knowledgeable about different dance genres and their history. The facilities are clean and well-organized, and both locations have designated parking spots. It would be even better if the windows were open or if there were fans to help circulate the air in addition to the AC. The waiting room is always clean and the staff periodically cleans the floors and bathrooms. They really do a good job at keeping things clean and orderly here for the students and parents. They do screen out the windows to the practice rooms, so it's difficult to see inside so the students have some privacy when learning their choreography, which I know my son finds comforting. He's more on the shy side and he gets self-conscious when we watch him practicing or learning the choreography. I feel like here, they bring out the confidence in him. Even though he's a little ashamed to show us his dance routine sometimes, he really enjoys dancing and never wants to miss a class. We even had to adjust his Taekwondo schedule so he can make it to dance class. I definitely recommend Eastside dance for kids and adults who want to learn to dance. If I have time, maybe I'll give it a go. Update: Our friend's son wanted to try hip-hop and he tried out the kid's class. He really enjoyed it! He said he definitely wants to sign up for the class and he's joining the Eastside Dance Family! YAY!

It's like a choreographed dance split in to high-rep segments and you will get your sweat cut out for you. My personal trainer introduced Linda's class to me and for someone who's not as motivated to workout cardio more than once a week in a gym, I'd have to say I am HOOKED! Linda's first class was neither intimidating nor difficult. Although I say Barre workout is both a physical and mental workout; I also have to say, 'Don't think, just do." Linda is patient and encouraging and her moves are easy to follow. Though she tells you to take your time, she does want you to push your limit a little more each day. I had my first session last Thursday to test out the workout and my second session today, I found myself dancing at home and even in the shower! My goal? I can't wait until my thighs and legs are strong again! I HIGHLY recommend people (not just women) to take her course because Linda has so much enthusiasm and passion for what she does.
