Inside 2 Portion size 5 Good quality 4 I ordered a lunch special the portion size was huge - easily enough for two people. The food was solid. The vegetables and chicken were cut well and the sauce was just spicy enough. A little sketchy inside but clean. read more

I was skeptical at first because I saw this business only had three out of five stars. But my boyfriend strongly recommended it so I gave it a try. I was very surprised to find out that the food was very good. I have a five star pallet and I am very hard to please. I was definitely pleased with the vegetable war mein And the breaded fried vegetables. I wish they gave me the red sweet-and-sour sauce to eat with them they just gave me packets and the smoothie had too much sugar for me but was still good and quality drink. I strongly recommend this place for Chinese! The best I've had in Chicago. read more

I am a massive Chinese/Cantonese food fanatic & I have been to many places across IL, I can say confidently that First Chop Suey is by large & far one of the best I have visited. My all time favorites are.. #1 Shanghai(it was in Little Village for 35 yrs but the owners retired in 99' and moved back to Hong Kong) #2 China Ho(Right off of Archer & Pulaski) #3 The Ho King(33rd & S. Ashland Ave, It was supposedly closed in 00' due to the owner having legal troubles) These are my top 3, The food was especially authentic & great tasting. The closest I have coming to finding a place that serves this level of deliciousness is First Chop Suey! read more

my food was horrible, I ordered a fried rice combo and the rice was clearly old I asked for extra green onion and bean sprouts and it was like they forgot to put it in the order and my egg rolls were cold read more

Ordered sesame chicken with sfr with extra shrimp and was given orange chicken with sesame seeds sprinkled over it all. I asked did I have the correct order and cashier said she know what they gave me. It's nasty and mosdef was not sesame chicken and was charged for chop sticks. I will never eat nor recommend this business to anybody read more

The driver never gives me change (drop off ) HE SUCKS!!!!! And the rice was TRASH! literal trash!

This place has really decent Chinese food! One of the best perks about ordering from here is that they stuff your "to-go" box with so much rice that they have to staple the top shut. I also love that there is no minimum order. I can order a soup for delivery which is really great on those "can't-get-out-of-bed-to-cook-myself-a-thing-so-I-just-might-starve" days. Downside: cash only. A couple of times I have forgotten and had to run to the nearest bank atm. I've only ordered take out or delivery, so can't comment on their dining-in service, however, I can say this doesn't have a restaurant appeal. Its definitely an order and go type of place. read more

Not that great of food but decent service. I liked that they delivered to my residence off of Kedvale with no problem. The large portions were huge and affordable. I ordered the Sesame Chicken and it was just bad meat drowned in brown sauce. The broccoli was no help as it also looked and smelled rancid. The egg drop soup was good and I liked that it has chives in it. The delivery is really professional as it was packed very well especially the soup. The driver called me via cell phone when he arrived. Note that this is a cash based business and I was well warned when I called about payment. I have also sent feedback to Yelp to remove any implication of electronic payment for this establishment. I recommend that restraunt take a look at their recipes and use fresher ingredients and maybe a smaller menu so as to master a few dishes well. read more

What an excellent little gem! Have ordering carry out for last 6 months. Shrimp curry excellent. Shrimp in lobster sauce, beef with pea pod, luncheon specials , appetizers all wonderful. Sweet and sour chicken heavy on sweet sauce but lots of succulent perfectly battered and fried chicken. Made myself hungry. Time for sesame chicken and Bbq ribs. See you there‼ read more

I've ordered food from here and in my opinion it is the best Cheap Chinese Food to ever buy. The price is good for its quality, I came here so many times as a kid and will forever be client to this business. The old Lady is lovely and helpful! read more

I've been going to this place for over 15 years. The serving sizes are great. We usually call in our order and pickup. The food is always hot and ready when we get there. This is the only place I go for this type of food. I don't mind the 15 minute drive. read more

Ordered the #2 and was like omg!! Was quite a bit of shrimp fried rice!!! With 3pcs of chicken price was good. Rice tasted like any regular place so it was enjoyable. The fried chicken was just about the right crunch. Will be back for other dishes to try. Friendly people too read more

This is my go-to place when I want delivery! The food is good, great price, fast delivery. The only down side is: it's cash only. I highly recommend the beef & noodles! The beef fried rice is delicious, and crab rangoons are perfectly made. There is no minimum for delivery, and they've never messed up my order. read more

I loved this place Not anymore. I ordered a chicken wing dinner from this place today as I do many other times. While eating my vegetable fried rice something stabbed me in my gums and was lodged in it. I pulled it out and saw that it was a piece of the metal brush they use to clean the pots. Called the restaurant to let them know and all they could do was say I'm Sorry. Wonder if I should sew. Glad my tetanus is up to date. read more

I haven't been here in years. Today I had a crazy headache and I decided to grab a mango bubble tea and a small shrimp fried rice and I have to say it was really fast. The shrimp fried rice was packed. It was really fresh and had a lot of shrimp in it. I hate when you order shrimp fried rice and there's like 10 little shrimp in it. The sprouts were very crispy with a lot of green onion. I wouldn't say it's the best I ever had but it was good. There was a good handful of people in here with mostly cups from the thorntons next door. So that's pretty cool that they let you bring in your own drinks most places want you only to buy theirs. read more

Usually when I come here I don't have a problem but today I came and spent $30 for food and the woman who handed my food to me had a attitude problem like I did something to her. Doesn't make sense‍ that I come to support your business and there you have a stank attitude. read more

Food was great!!! Best Chinese food by far anywhere nearby. Best prices and the small is more than enough for one! I got three beef dishes: beef with vegetables, beef with oyster sauce and tomatoe pepper steak which was the best of the three but all were great! Cooked just right, sauces all were thick, juicy beef. Got two crab Rangoon complimentary. Just the best Chinese around. read more

Says accepts credit cards, but when you go in they tell you "cash only bro." And guess what? There's no ATM in the restaurant and not one even close by. Discrimination or not, thanks for wasting my time and you'll never see me again. Left the order at the counter. Its 2015 and you're running a "cash only" policy at a typical chinese food dive, good luck with that. read more

Pretty basic chinese restaurant.Nothing spectacular. It was decent enough to go back to.Food was ready pretty fast and service was friendly. But it was basically another CHINESE JOINT.Nothing wrong with that!!! read more

Simply put its good solid Chinese food.i don't understand why someone would rate panda more than this place. When in doubt the orange chicken and fried rice is the way to go. They also have reasonable prices! read more

First chop suey, they are pretty good. They give big portions when you take out but if you eat there the portions are small on a paper plate. Most of the time there food is super on point but I've had time when the food was a little off. The chicken and broccoli is really good and wings and there smoothies are super delicious! The best time you get good from there is lunch time you get a big container, egg roll and a pop for under 8 bucks depending on what you order. Oh And if you do Delivery the man always expects a tip and stands there until you either give him one or tell him he ain't getting one! When you call its kind if hard to understand the lady who answers but she can understand you well. No credit cards BTW. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! So much food for a great price$! I am never disappointed with their food or service! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Food was always great and prices arent bad, cash only does suck buuut, tables are always super dirty even windows and door but its ok if picking up I guess. Was always a good stop after watching a movie right around the corner...until the day i found a hair on my food...gross...walked up and showed the person in charge at the moment (a male) he proceeded to show the chefs and to my shock took a fork took the hair out and tried to give it back to me!! Some nerve sad to say never eating there again good luck to all!! read more

A couple of years ago, the chinese food place we used to order from (Wing-Wah) on Archer Ave changed owners, and we didn't like the food there anymore. Someone recommended 1st Chop Suey, so we tried it and it was good. It's similar to the original Wing-Wah, if you've ever had that, but the egg rolls are better & the Beef Chop Suey has plenty of large meat chunks. The vegetable egg foo young is also pretty good, and the family liked the crab rangoon as well. This is our new chinese food joint. Also has free, fast delivery as well. read more

Hate this place! Ordered for delivery yesterday at about 1:30pm. The lady on the phone told me to expect it in 45 minutes. 1hr later my food is not here, i call in & the lady barely let me speak telling me that my food was on its way. An 1 1/2hr later & still no food! I call in & the lady hands the phone over to a man. He asks what the problem is & i calmly explain that i ordered at 1:30 & its almost 3 & i dont have my food. He says its on its way, i ask him for a discount at this point. He rudely says NO because theyre too busy, the food was made, & its on its way. I tell him that if i wouldve known it was going to take this long i never wouldve ordered. He responds with "it's up to you" & hangs up on me! Really you would rather lose a customer & $$...rather than keep your customer happy by taking off a couple bucks or throwing in an a free egg roll. I dont know about you guys but i work in a restaurant & we would rather give away free food & keep our customers happy than have them give us a bad review. Isnt that what a business is all about? I will never order from this place again!!! read more
