Barry was amazing! I was looking for someone to put together a swing set for my kiddos and reached out to a few people on Yelp. I bought 2 medicine cabinets that needed recess mounting. I reached out to several people, and Barry asked the most informed questions about what was in the walls. I hired him on that alone, but his rates were also VERY reasonable. On site: He is very courteous and conscientious. He wore shoe covers and used sheets to protect our counters and floors. He's very communicative about job progress, and his assessment of the work and the time it would take was accurate. He also installed a towel rack into our shower tile. (This was minor compared to the mirror mounting -- but it was also pristine.) We're very pleased with the result and will definitely call Barry again for future handyman needs! read more

Barry assembled this table and chairs. The table came with IMPOSSIBLE to understand instructions, so I reached out to Barry. He was very professional, punctual, and friendly throughout the whole process. He responded quickly and accurately with a quote, came by the following day, and finished the project in the exact amount of time that he estimated. It was VERY fairly priced. I highly recommend this company, and I will definitely be using them again. read more

Barry is so professional, timely and fast. His work is amazing, and he takes FULL precaution and safety. He brings his own cleaning supplies, tools and worked outside. He built so much "work from home" furniture for me and my family. We are so grateful to have found him. He is so friendly and nice. read more

I'm so glad to have located First Choice Home Services on Yelp! After a rapid response to my initial message Barry was able to immediately provide a quote for his services. He was also ready and willing to provide his Certificate of Insurance and jump through a few hoops to satisfy the HOA at our condo. When he came over this past weekend he was hugely helpful in providing some light demo work of our master bedroom closet, as well as patching back the drywall. He brought floor protection with him, swept and cleaned up the mess, and even left us some sandpaper to smooth down the walls once the drywall putty dried. Later he helped my wife secure some seismic anchors to our taller furniture and also helped to fix our front door which was slamming shut! Not only will my wife and I be calling First Choice Home Services back again when in need of a handyman, but we have already recommended Barry to two different friends just within the past week. Choose First Choice and you will definitely be satisfied! read more

So I just moved into my new home. FIRST TIME HOME BUYER! WOOHOO! With monthly bills being higher due to owning a home, I decided to save everywhere I can. That meant closing down my gym membership at LA Fitness. Bought myself a bowflex machine and an elliptical machine. I've never been more confused in my life the moment I saw how many pieces and parts I had to put together! Thank goodness my friend shared First Choice Home Services on Facebook.. I gave the guy a call and spoke to him on the phone for about 20 minutes. Really cool guy; sounded like a true professional. Gave me a quote over the phone and was surprisingly really inexpensive. He came over, hooked up my Bowflex and the elliptical machine in less than 2 hours! I even invited him in to work out with me on the Bowflex machine.. (I think I just made a friend lol) I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company for their honest and friendly human support. read more

Best Buy contracted First Choice to install a washer/dryer that I purchased. I asked both technicians at the door if they had masks because a high-risk individual lived in our house, & one said,"I'll have to check on the truck???" So I asked them to wait & I gave them masks. I have beige carpets & asked them to wear shoe covers & to use a tarp. The one guy starts mumbling something in Spanish & the other guy said they didn't have either??? Once again, I asked them to wait at the door as I placed MY CLEAN TOWELS ON THE UPSTAIRS FLOOR WITH NO COVERING ON THE STAIRS! The tech pleasantly communicated with me when necessary as they worked. But he wouldn't cover his nose with the mask & kept uncovering his face when he was on phonecalls instead of stepping outside to talk. I asked him to cover himself twice & he said it was ok because he was vaccinated??? But the problem is that vaccinated people can still catch covid which could kill high risk individuals like my husband. When finished there was a minor misunderstanding regarding a $98.33 inspection fee for installing the gas dryer which I paid after the tech put me on the phone with the lady at their office who explained everything. But when she thanked me for doing business & asked if there was anyway they could improve I mentioned no masks, shoe covers, or tarps was disappointing, etc. She said she'd look into that & apologized. Then the tech said,"OH WE HAVE SHOE COVERS ON THE TRUCK, BUT THEY"RE SIPPERY & THAT STUFF IS REAL HEAVY." I told him that needed to be handled at the company, you still need to wear them in peoples houses, & I didn't appreciate that. He said ,"Ok." The inspection's a few weeks out, I have no complaints about the work that they did, & I tipped them. But 1st impressions are lasting impressions. And you must always respect customers in their homes, because there are NUMEROUS companies out there that can take your business, & word of mouth is a very strong tool! So no, I honestly can't recommend this company. read more

I purchased a very complicated work out machine overseas. 15 big boxes showed up with thousands of pieces. To make matters worst, the instruction material was in Mandarin. I didn't know what I was going to do. My friend recommended Barry who showed up, took control of the situation, using the images on the instruction material, spend the entire day and got it done! He was courteous, on time, professional and offered to come back if any issues. I would recommend Barry all day long to any of my friends. read more

It became obvious pretty quickly that I didn't have the tools needed to assemble what I was setting out to assemble/I was a bit in over my head. I got connected to Noam and he was in my apartment in an hour. Not even an hour after that, all three pieces were assembled (he fixed the mistakes I had already made), and he assured me that the assembly directions were, in fact, lying when they said all I needed was a screwdriver and a hammer. Noam paid attention to detail, was efficient, and could not have been kinder! He takes Venmo. The whole process was incredibly easy. Truly, zero complaints read more

Had a Bowflex assembled. i was very happy with the results. Showed up on time and completed the task quickly. He even showed me how to use the machine when he finished. read more

After a lengthy move from California to Baltimore with the wife and kids, we were absolutely exhausted and had to buy a large amount of new furniture that needed putting together. We had no interest in doing it ourselves along with enrolling the kids to schools, unpacking and taking care of everything else so we decided to give first choice a call. I gave them a call at 9:00 am and they were there an hour later ready to work. They were kind, very fair priced compared to the rest and within a couple of hours all the rooms and furniture we bought were setup. Hands down, best service we have received and would recommend Noam anytime. read more

Very professional, always makes sure to be on time. Does great work with very affordable pricing!

I found First Choice Homes Services on Amazon Home Services and checked out their excellent reviews on Yelp and, since the wall bed I needed assembled was not purchased through Amazon, I contacted Noam directly. He was reluctant to contract with me directly since I found them on Amazon (which I respect) and explained I could still schedule service through Amazon and request the services of First Choice Home Services which I did immediately. Within an hour, Amazon called me to confirm service for five days later with First Choice Home Services (having just spoken to them on the phone) and said that First Choice Home Services had requested the model number and pictures of the wall bed to be assembled; I sent First Choice an email with the make and model of the bed and a link to pictures and specifications of the wall bed and asked them to contact me with questions (they didn't bother to respond so I assumed everything was fine). This morning, 24 hours before the appointment, I received an email confirming my appointment with a different provider with less than stellar reviews and no experience with wall beds. I called Amazon to find out why the provider had changed and three hours later they were able to conference me in with Noam at First Choice Home Services. He explained that First Choice had "ignored" my request for service and left it in the "queue" and then explained that the price Amazon offered would not cover the cost of the service because of the amount of work involved (although he was under the erroneous impression that wall bed or the storage units needed to embedded into the wall somehow and not just strapped which I assured him was not the case). With Amazon on the line, Noam suggested that he send a revised quote through the Amazon app but confirmed that First Choice could still make the appointment tomorrow but just four hours later time, which I agreed to (having already scheduled the time off work). For me, cost is the least important factor; I wanted quality assembly from a company with a apparently good track record. An hour later, Amazon called me again to advise that First Choice had canceled the appointment for the second time (without providing an updated quote) and is no longer able to make the appointment time. Really? An hour ago you had the availability and now you don't? This is so frustrating after scheduling the time off work and shows a complete lack of respect to the customer's time. Very disappointed that they are not honest or reliable. read more
