His attention to detail and keen eye make it really easy to trust him with your hair, he knows what will look good on people and what won't, and he isn't scared to disagree or tell the truth. Also very clean and professional. Customer Service - They have more a more devoted customer-base than most hair salons I've been to in the past, and there's a good reason for it. Conclusion - I know this is a shorter review than I normally write, but this place is just fantastic. That's it. I started my Thumpers experience on a bad foot actually, I got an ombre done with red in it and it faded so quickly, that after a week it was completely unnoticable. I'm glad I gave it a second chance as I've had nothing but great experiences from Thumpers! Rob did my hair last New Year's Eve and it was amazing. I asked for an updo that was a bit old fashioned since I was wearing a vintage dress, and he somehow gave my thin ass hair a beehive with curls at the back. I got so many compliments and felt amazing all night. i got hair extensions done here back in April and absolutely loved them. They use babe extensions and Vanessa, the lady who does them, knows her stuff. If you have thin hair like myself and want a confidence boost I can't speak enough for these extensions. When I had them I felt like a new person. I'm giving my hair a 4 month break at my stylist (Vanessa's) advice and can't wait to get them again. My extensions matched my hair perfectly and it was completely impossible to tell that I had them. Vanessa has since dyed my hair dark brown and gave me a nice cut. I have been dyeing my hair dark brown since I was a teenager, and it has always faded to some degree, but this stuff remarkably, has not faded a bit. I asked for a streak of lavender in the back, which didn't turn lavender, so Vanessa fixed it for free. They also sell the best hair products you can get. Oribe is an amazing brand that smells absolutely phenomenal, and is the only place in Halifax to sell R&Co products. They also carry Bumble and Bumble. Thumpers has a decent selection of nail polish and lip gloss from Smith and Co, which I've never heard of, but will forever be hooked on their lipgloss. My lips look amazing. Not to mention the front staff are great. They somehow always know my name when I come in and i always feel welcomed. Only thing is the high price point, I couldn't afford to get my roots touched up this month and am kicking myself for going elsewhere... You really see a difference here, so I consider it well worth the extra $.

Unfortunately, the haircut/style she received was not what she had asked for at all. What was particularly frustrating was being told during the appointment that the stylist was not going to do the requested style because my wife could not replicate it herself at home. If a stylist is unable or unwilling to provide the requested style, that should be communicated before cutting the hair, not after the service is already underway. My wife is normally extremely respectful and rarely complains in the moment, but she is genuinely devastated by the result. I have never seen her this upset about her hair. She is now considering going to another salon and paying additional money to have it corrected before we travel. She has been a loyal customer of salons in general and is normally a very generous tipper, so the fact that she left without tipping reflects just how disappointed she was with the service. Unfortunately, she will not be returning to this salon and would not recommend it to others. When someone spends approximately $400 and clearly communicates the style they want, they should be able to expect the stylist to either deliver that service or be upfront beforehand if they cannot.

I had gone from dark brunette back to blonde 6 months earlier, and still had a little bit of brassy orange in my hair. Georgia blasted me back to a wonderful honey-blonde and layered my grown-out, messy hair into a stylish, face-framing cut. I look ten years younger, and this hairstyle is so much easier to keep tidy. Not only is Georgia a master of what she does, but she's also incredibly sweet, funny and highly sensitive to her clients' needs. I was an esthetician for many years, and I'm very particular and tough to please. Georgia got my new cut and colour spot on, and I had a fun-filled few hours in her chair and some good laughs. Her prices are very reasonable and fair when you compare her high skill set to nearby salons that charge much more. Foxy Moon is a small salon located on Agricola, and its charismatic title drew me in for further inspection. Its a quaint little space, but fresh and well maintained. My entrance alloted for a prompt greeting, and the esthetician was more than happy to explain the jist of the salon offerings. With just 2 stylists and 1 esthetician, they seem to provide quality services at reasonable pricing. The esthetician introduced me to the stylists passing by-- everyone appeared friendly and professional. Cuts go for $35 and upwards, while coloring/ highlights average in at about $75(+), depending on your mane. Esthetic services run along the same lines; moderately priced services, and offering mainly the basics. (No massage or specialized facial services here.) I'm unsure if I'll make Foxy Moon my next hair destination. The friendly approach and well priced services provided appeal, but there wasn't anything particularly "stand out" here. This spot doesn't exactly scream salon suavé, but its a neat spot with a quiet confidence.

We talked about foils and that a half-head is usually recommended while a quarter head is simply for touch ups. As well, if you're looking for lash tinting or waxing - this place offers up the goods with comfortable price tags to match. The space was bright and clean, and I could definitely picture myself in one of the chairs, chatting away while getting my mop-top resculpted. With friendly stylists and a modern space, this place seems like a fantastic decision if you're looking to update your look!
