The last time I went in for my appointment, I sat and listened to a newborn screaming for two hours and Kendra's rather large dog running around. It was chaos. Couldn't leave because I had foils in my hair. Paid and Left with headache. I am not paying good money for supposedly a quality salon to sit 2 chairs away from a screaming newborn for two hrs. Worst part was I received no apology. I gave Kendra a pass even though the experience was horrible. My foils that were done that day came out horrible. The colour was more yellow than blond. I rebooked to have the colour fixed. Did not go well. I was made to feel as if it was my fault and was told that was the colour she always used. Well it never looked yellow before. Instead of reassuring me that it could be fixed, Kendra was very impatient with me and took offence to me finally saying your my hairdresser tell me how we fix it. So things did not go well after that. I did however ask why no apology was given in respect to what happened at my last appointment and Kendra said "that's not me". That says it all. Very very disappointing to see what has happened to this salon.

He suggested a few things re: cut and colour - to tell you the truth, I wasn't sure BUT he is so professional that I felt it was worth it to see what he could do. What he did was THE best. I loved the color and I loved the cut. So much so, that I went away, traveling for the past year, and rather than risk a crappy cut and color, left my hair alone, to return to Jimmy when my traveling ended. Thanks for the great colour, Brenda! ----------- I've supported Tips and Clips since they opened but my experience this weekend has ruined my view of this business. I received a cut and colour from a junior stylist, and instead of giving me dark brown like I asked, I ended up with a darker copper red! I didn't realize how red it actually was until I got home and looked at it under natural light so I called back immediately. The stylist basically accused me of trying to get freebies and said it was my fault for choosing the wrong sample. I went back to the salon when I got off the phone to talk to them, but the owners weren't in, only the staff. A more experienced stylist even told her right in front of me that she had mixed the dye incorrectly but no one offered to fix the mistake. Well they said I could come back in and pay full price haha, as if. The junior stylist spent the whole time angrily trying to make sure I was fully aware she wasn't giving me any "freebies." The experienced stylist even had to keep shushing her because she was yelling at me in front of other customers. Not sure if the owners are ever around or care, but it's a shame because I have always supported this business and never once had a problem with a cut or pedi/mani, and never had issues with any other staff member. Make sure you stick with a senior stylist who knows what they're doing! In the mean time I'll be driving into town from now on!

Carmelita is amazing, she gives terrific pedicures (all of the staff do actually). The salon is always sparkling clean, there is beautiful natural light streaming in from the large windows. It's a spacious, relaxing environment to be pampered in. They also sell bags, scarves and jewelry, beautiful things at great prices. I've been going there for about 3 years now and have never been disappointed, you won't be either!!
