WARNING: PLEASE DON'T COME HERE*Took 3 dresses in for hemming. Returned 3 days later for pickup. The older man at the counter couldn't locate the dresses. After scouring their mess, I found one dress sitting haphazardly on an ironing board. Went back 2 days later, still couldn't locate two dresses. The elderly man at the counter was rude and obnoxious, said he receives hundreds of items a week, losing two dresses was 'not out of the ordinary'???? The next day, my husband went in, the elderly woman at the counter had my two dresses waiting, seemed oblivious to the fact her business partner had wreaked havoc with lost items the previous week. This was our first time at a cleaners since we moved here. Granted we didn't have a complex cleaning or alteration, and we had a simple suit dry cleaned. It seemed professionally cleaned, on time, and reasonably priced ($10). My husband liked how the gentleman at the counter was extremely polite, attentive, and respectful. Being the clean freak I am, I felt it would behoove the owner to go through the entire shop to organize and clean - that would speak volumes to clients. We will continue patronizing this cleaners due to its proximity to our house, the prices, and the customer service. read more

Was my go to cleaners not anymore. Two time back I asked to re-enforce suit jacket buttons on two coats. This didn't happen. This last visit I was willing to pay extra to get a quick turn around on a two piece suit and shirt. $35 dollars I thought was fair. It turns out I was charged $325 in stead. I spoke with the older man and works there and he told my that that charge was cancelled. NOT TRUE!! I showed him my online banking on my phone and then he asked for my receipt for proof. No worries, I have already filed with my bank so I will be getting my money back and First Choice Cleaners has been flagged. Go anywhere else and don't fall for the little old mans BS. read more

April 16 of 2022 I was to be charged 22.50 the owner told me that he accidentally charged me $225, he told me that he corrected the issue. I found that my account had not been corrected as I was doing my taxes 10 months later. I aproched the owner of the transaction, he gave me one free charge $29 for a tuxedo that I needed to be cleaned, and told me that he will honor his mistake, he said it was to long ago to correct his error read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS YOUR CLOTHES WILL BE DESTROYED!!!!!! I brought 4 shirts into the business and they came back with numbers drawn on the collars of the shirts instead of the inside lapel. The owner promised he would clean them again and that the marker would come out. The marker did not come out and now says to take him to small claims to receive my reimbursement for the damaged goods (roughly $300 in shirts). One of the shirts was obviously not dry cleaned and extremely faded from being laundered in a washing machine. THIS GUY IS A SCAM ARTIST!!!! read more

BEWARE!! I brought in 3 designer wool coats( 1 velvet Valentino & 2 two Pricy wool coats) to be dry cleaned and they are ruined !! After taking them home I noticed the wool coats had shrinkage on hem , were fuzzy , one had been discolored by the other each other ( pink coat had blead onto other coat ). They told me they could fix them and I gave them a chance to fix them but they could not. They shrank the wool , discolored, looks fuzzy , has stretching to material and the liner was hanging out so all coats are beyond repair. My expensive velvet Valentino was destroyed!! When I complained the owner Patronized me and didn't offer to compensate me for the price the full of my coats. First of all, they suppose to call me within a week when my staff is done but never happened, I called the number on the yelp, no in service... I got panic, drove to the store, see my staff laying on the floor...... second, the store is really old and disorganize, price is high.... not recommend. read more

I have had about five pairs of pants hemmed here, and three of those were jeans. The man who does the alterations is a very nice guy, and was very patient with me as I was explaining the specific length I wanted each to be. He was very easy to deal with when I needed one of the pants done in two days, and had it ready in time. Also, he was quite tactful in letting me know that he'd like to clean one of my items before hemming it. This was one of the first times someone told me to wash my jeans more often without sounding condescending. Awesome!! That said, I'm going back ASAP to get the rest of my pants fixed up. read more

Used to go here for a few years then we started recently noticing chipped buttons on our clothing. The final straw cam when they ripped a good 1" piece of my pocket on my collar shirt. I brought this to their attention & I was told they would fix it. I gave them three weeks and they claimed they couldn't find it. I've since moved on from here. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CLOTHES TO THIS CLEANERS!!!! THIS OWNER IS A SLEEZY BUSINESS MAN! I've taken pants and shirts there in the past and wasn't impressed with their work but they were inexpensive so I tolerated and didn't complain since they were just work slacks/shirts. However, If I had a high quality piece of clothing, I knew I had to take it elsewhere to get fully clean. My worst experience though, was when I brought my pants back that just got hemmed. I got a pair of slacks hemmed and one pant leg hem came down during the first day I wore them. I was so embarrassed and had to staple my pant leg to keep up the hem. Next day I brought the pair of pants back and when I walked in, the owner came to the counter. I showed him the pants and he said I asked for the temporary hem and that's why they came down. I said "I didn't know there was such a request. I paid full price for a hem expecting this to be final. What's a temporary hem?" He said "you asked for temporary. If you want permanent hem, it will cost the same amount". I was appalled! I said "I came paid for full hem service. Don't you guarantee your work like every other business does?" He said in his broken English "yes, but you asked for temporary hem". I said "you are telling me that if I want a hem that will LAST, I have to pay all over again, which is double the actual price?" He looked at me with very cold eyes and said "yes, you do". He didn't even flinch. This man does not know how to please customers and is very greedy. He knew I had been there before but didn't care about taking care of his customer. All he cared about was getting another $9 out of me. I had 100% Angola half jacket which is rare nowadays. They shrunk it by three sizes! The young person was nice to see if theey an fix it. When I went back, the older gentleman gave me my jacket back, Stating there was not much they could do except that he offered to make sleeves longer. He did not offer to refund me, and said that I should not even think about taking them to a small claim court because there was no proof they did it. read more

I took my brand new juicy purse here to be cleaned because it was starting to look dingy. The people who worked here didn't understand english ( i know, i know, its a cleaners) and I became a little anxious to hand over my $215 purse. They assured me that it would be clean and it would only cost me $30. I was relieved and accepted. When I returned over a week later to pick it up, most of the spots were gone, but some were still there, and furthermore the satin bow around my purse had been ripped apart, taken off, and then put back on. It looked horrible! I told them that I wanted my money back, and that I would probably have to go buy a new purse, to which the man that worked there started yelling and threatening me. Worst dry cleaning experience ever!! I took my nice (as in expensive from Macy's) king size down comforter here. Such a huge mistake! That was the last I ever saw of it! We went in to pick it up and paid for the dry cleaning service. When we got home & I actually took a closer look at it, I didn't even need to open it, I could tell it wasn't ours. We went back & they looked for it, couldn't find it & said to come back next week. We went through this several times. Finally it became apparent that it was just not going to turn up. Long story short, they basically told us to pound sand. *****The owner actually told us that he would not replace it & that we should take him to small claims court!!!*** Of course we said we would, as I had everything documented, but let's be honest we never got around to spending any more time and money on this matter. The worst dry cleaners that I have been to! I went there on a Monday and they told me that my clothes wouldn't be ready until late Friday. In my opinion 5 days is too long for 3 items! Then when I picked up me dry cleaners, the gave me someone else's clothes and when I tried calling the number is disconnected. I went in and let them know that I needed "my" clothes and the young guy had the nerve to ask me to come back the next day. They don't deserve one star but looks like I need to in order to post this. First Choice Cleaners should change their name to: "Last Choice Cleaners" or "Don't Make This Choice Cleaners" !!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR PATRONIZE ELSEWHERE !! I brought in 3 dress shirts and 2 new suits to be cleaned for the first time. Wife picked them up and upon readying to wear, the shirts and suits were not cleaned, suits not pressed properly. I took them back and he told me, " The collars cannot be cleaned." I showed him the spots on the suits. Again another come back, " You should have marked these." I left them to be cleaned again. Wife returns to pick them up The white shirt was filthy as if intentionaly soiled on the outside AND staples were sticking out of the tag that would have scratched the back of my neck. (Malicious intent? I do not know, but glad I spotted it to tell them) Spots STILL on the suit and not properly pressed. I took them to another cleaner and all the clothes are cleaned and properly pressed. They charged me over $25.00. I asked for my money back. No way, even though they clearly saw they didn't do what they were paid to do. Can't comment on the alterations but I surely would not take a chance. Also when reading the comments of the one who gave 5 stars, she lives in OAKLAND! Why would she come all the way down here to have her dry cleaning and/or alterations done??? Plus come back again??? I brought my jeans in a few months ago to be tapered. I brought them straight from the store after I bought them. When ingot them back about 5 days later, they actually tapered the jeans with the size stickers still on them, and stitched the sticker into the seam. Also the inside of the jeans was just cut and left frayed. This was the second time I brought jeans there since I believe in giving businesses a second chance. The employees that I've met there are very nice, but the quality of the work is sub-par. read more

They charged us more for next day delivery and then did a horrible job !! I Did not want to take the clothes back to have redone, because I was concerned that they would ruin the clothes . ZERO STARS! DO NOT USE THIS DRY CLEANER/TAILOR. Brought in 3 brand new gowns to be hemmed only. I was told to return a week later on Monday after 4pm. When I arrived, they said "Ohhh I forgot to bring them. Come back tomorrow morning." So I did. One dress was returned to me with dirt all over the white top of the dress and the other had large amounts of coffee or tea stains all over the front and was snagged in 3 places. They offered to dry clean them. I accepted. When I picked them up the dress with the white top was fine, but the other was questionable. When I asked for my money back for the one dress the owner started to pick a fight with me, raising his voice, and he told me to take him to small claims court and said he cleaned my dresses as a courtesy! He was completely unapologetic and completely unprofessional. And the best part...I grabbed my dresses and left...while reading the paper covered hangers that say, "We love our customers." This is the cleaners next to Togos. I went there once with about 7 shirts to be cleaned and pressed. I had no problems with the cleaning.Except they wrote my name with a black sharpie and numbers on all of the shirt tags.Really.....Needless to say I was pissed and have never returned. I was blatantly overcharged and for a so-so cleaning job. My white hubby took a HUGE white gown to this cleaning service semi-regularly and each time, Jalal charged him $8. When I finally went in on hubby's recommendation (I'm a brown colored female), Jalal charged me the same $8 to clean a small blouse (I'm a size small). I thought it odd at first but then realized later after doing the math that bringing the rest of my clothes there (I had 7 cloth items + a hat to take in) for drycleaning, at that rate would be exorbitant. I believe that he intentionally overcharged me. Not entirely sure if it had to do with my color but I have to wonder. The shirt he cleaned for me had loosened threads hanging from the sleeves which were not there before. Also, it took 4 days for my shirt to be ready. I turned it in on a Friday and picked it up Wednesday of the next week (came in on Tuesday and it wasn't ready). I've decided not to challenge him on this issue and instead hubby and I will redirect our buying power (and write this review) in order to make a statement. Hubby and I have agreed to take our clothes elsewhere. There are other drycleaning stores in Gilroy. Thank heaven for capitalism. read more

This place is really, really BAD. But don't just take my word for it. Give them an old shirt to launder and when you come back to pick it up, check the stains on the back under the collar (underside of the collar). Every single shirt I have has these oil/grease stains in exactly the same place. The only reason I noticed them is that the oil transfers into ties when you wear them. If you need shirts laundered, go to Nob Hill down the street, cheaper, better service and will not damage shirts. If you need articles dry cleaned, go across the street (next to Quiznos), more expensive, but also will take responsibility for their actions, unlike the folks at the misnomer at First Choice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Took 2 skirts in for a simple 'patch' to be sewn on, promised them in 2 days. Go to pick up, at exactly the time I said I would be there, and guess what they were NOT there!! After 10 minutes of trying to figure out where they were, found out they were in San Jose 'son would bring them in 35 minutes'. Go back 40 minutes later...and STILL NOT THERE!!! In all I spent 1.5 hours 'waiting' for something that should have been there in the first place! I only got 1 apology and he had the nerve to still charge me. Absolutely terrible service! I specified that I needed the suit dry cleaned within the next day or two for a family funeral. The guy who helped me that day was nice and said he could accommodate my needs. He said the suits would be ready the next day close to the end of the day. I called before they closed to make sure they were ready and nobody picked up the phone. I thought maybe they closed early or were real busy, so I went the next morning. I showed up before they opened... and waited for them to open. The guy who was opening up was someone else and he showed up 45 minutes after the time the sign said they open. The suits were not in plastic and I told him I didn't have time for him to put them in bags because I had already been waiting for him to show up and had a funeral to get to. His excuse was traffic. Really?!! Very unprofessional. Someone else showed up and left while I waited as well. Even though the suits were cleaned fine, I would never use them again; unreliable. read more
