Sadly he was no longer actively running it so we got the hand off to the kid. It started with some up front dialogue on getting started; jump on his portal for communications, uploads etc, add then to approving him for access banking, GET taxes and some other areas. All the typical new CPA working so fun prep steps. Then comes the long long gap of communications. To be exact zero replies on multiple emails requesting support and guidance on his own portal. When monthly GET was due we had no trust it was being handled, as it was not. So we paid it ourselves then emailing, reaching out but again Reyn decided to do it last minute without telling us. So now we've paid twice. Weeks months pass and more zero contact we are running our business not thinking about it which is sole purpose of this relationship from start as an owner my plate is overflowing with to do's, until another month the two and more lack of transparency lack of replies to countless messages about credit cards Quickbooks and so on. Terrible management. Now knee deep into mid year and no trust this guy has done a single thing for us (as had not) since double paying our GET. Sadly we are now back to square one and bookkeeping backed up so so much more. It's sad to feel this was so frustrated with a CPA. Especially of which was referred from a local and respected banker back in the day who knew his father personally. I suggest stay far from this CPA. Sometimes hard work and building a business from scratch you respect your clients you communicate with your valuable clients, not ignore them. Pick up a phone Reyn make a phone call. Reply when a letter has been written to you. Take responsibility. Well that's where entitlement comes in in our eyes with Reyn. He likely has no idea what it takes to build something from scratch and all the hard work to do so. If he did he'd know the importance of transparency and good communications.

Which the day of my appointment she couldn't fulfill my request due to being unqualified with any foreign assets. Which she wanted to adjust the appointment onto another advisor. However, the receptionist intervened that no other advisors could take me in due to unavailability. She was adamant on that I need to reschedule, however my reservations should still be fulfilled regardless of my situation. While J. Castro, the tax advisor was trying to be helpful, the receptionist insisted that I can't be helped with my appointment. This is my experience here and I've gone through HR Block for the last 6 years in various areas, so I know what needs to be processed. It's when people think they have some administrative control that think they can run over their advisors. Good help is hard to find, but the first layer of service needs to be improved. No wonder this particular area is poorly performing.

I have little faith that my taxes have been done correctly over the last two tax seasons that I always buy the insurance. Between the two times that I have filed one year I didn't owe and this year I do owe. Nothing has changed with my marital status, or employment , or dependents, yet somehow my taxes are not matching up. This year, my tax prep person is chalking it up to if I get money back from my federal, it's okay that I still owe a little on my state. Which to me doesn't make sense.. if last year I didn't owe anything but the this year I do? Something seems sketchy. Now whenever I try to get clarification on the issue it is nearly impossible to get a hold of my tax prep person. I call the office , leave messages, email multiple times with no return. The only time I seem to be able to get a hold of my tax prep person is if I call HR customer service (mainland line) and complain and have to schedule a meeting with my tax prep persons. I know tax season is a busy time for everyone, but I shouldn't have to wait over two weeks to get a response on a question! Finally, after working with my taxes pro since January, she gives it to me to review, pay and sign.. which I do (everything at this point is competed in mid march). Also at this point I'm exhausted on trying to get her to fix my taxes so I don't owe (like how I didn't owe last year) so I just give up and will pay whatever she says I owe to the state. So now that I've signed everything I assume it's going to be submitted . Fast forward a few weeks, no tax submission... now having to go through the headache of trying to contact my tax pro again, she's telling me it's because I need to pay for services again?? Dan was recommended to my father by one of the staff at a local bank, as my dad was looking for a new CPA since severing ties with his former financial advisor. At the time, Dan's office (if memory serves correctly) was located closer to Lagoon Drive and was slightly difficult to find according to my father. Now, over 10 years later, our family continues its business relationship with Dan Kikuyama and staff thanks to their wonderful customer service and reliable tax / financial knowledge. LOCATION / PARKING: The current office is on the 2nd floor of a building in Mapunapuna. LIMITED parking is available in a parking deck across the building, as the customer parking is shared with other businesses located in the very same building. Street parking also available, though the area is saturated with other businesses and warehouses. Truth be told, we only visit the office during tax season, but our visits are always welcoming and pleasant. Ironically, we mostly interact with Dan's staff/associates during our visits or over the phone. Two staff members in particular, Christine and Marlene, have shown exemplary customer service and are always willing and ready to help address any questions we may have. Most recently, Dan and staff assisted our family with cashing out an annuity that was held with a mainland company. Christine advised us the state and federal taxes to be withheld, how to appropriately respond/file the paperwork, as well as preparing the tax forms when it was time to file with the IRS. Our family was extremely THANKFUL for all their help and assistance with this matter. BOTTOM LINE: Knowledgeable, friendly, and polite staff. We hope to continue our relationship with this firm in the months and years ahead.
