For the past ten years, I've dreaded tax season because we're in a higher tax bracket. We used to go to another accounting agency, but over time we noticed they weren't really taking the time to thoroughly go over everything with us, and their fees kept increasing. Enter Ramos Tax Service. Although they do not take scheduled appointments, the process was still very easy. They have parking available, and once we checked in, I believe our wait was only about 20 to 30 minutes, which honestly was not bad at all. They even had snacks available while we waited. Once we were called, Noemi was incredibly friendly and helpful. Even though we ended up owing taxes, she took the time to carefully review everything with us, which definitely eased some of the sting. She also gave us very helpful suggestions for next year to help minimize what we may owe. And their fees? Very reasonable. Do I recommend Ramos Tax Service? Absolutely.

Luckily they accept walk ins. I signed in about 1040am and got called around 130pm. Mrs. Ramos was quick and kind. Seems like when I got to her all of my information was inputted into her computer. Might've been her assistant that sat next to her helped her input all the info's, to speed up the process. I sat with Mrs. Ramos for about 10 minutes and I was done. The outcome of my tax return was not the outcome I wanted but oh well. It is what it is. I feel no matter what, taxes is always owed on my part. They charged $150 for service which I think is fair, based on what others are charging to do taxes now days. If you do decide to come here, expect to wait. They do have a lot of clients and new clients as well, based on my observation while I sat and waited. The waiting area is clean and comfortable. They provide snacks to purchase, cost is about a dollar each. Parking can be a little difficult, as they have about 6-8 stalls in front of their office. I believe you could also park on the street and walk over. Location is right across the street from Honowai elementary. Not sure if I'll return next year, but I'm glad I gave them a chance and I'm glad they took me in as a walk in because I needed to get my taxes done ASAP.

I am disappointed with the level of service and communication I experienced…read more I dropped off our tax documents on March 7 for Richard and did not receive any updates by March 14. After multiple unanswered calls and messages throughout that week, I visited the office in person to inquire about the status. At that time, Marjorie informed me that Richard had just returned from the hospital and had not yet been able to begin working on our taxes. While I understand unforeseen circumstances can arise, I would have appreciated proactive communication and the option to have another preparer assist us. Unfortunately, no such communication or alternative was offered. I chose to proceed and give the benefit of the doubt. By March 29, our taxes were completed, and I visited the office to sign the paperwork and paid for electronic filing. As of April 20, we had still not received our refund. Upon contacting the IRS, I was informed that no return had been filed under my Social Security number. After again being unable to reach anyone by phone, my husband went to the office and was told by Rina that their system is backlogged and that our taxes had not yet been filed. Rina also informed me that their system backlog was an ongoing issue since before I dropped off my taxes on 3/7/26 so I do not understand why nothing was ever communicated to us. This was extremely concerning and frustrating, as we were never notified of any delays or system issues. At no point during my interactions with Lehua (March 7), Marjorie (March 14), or Richard (March 29) was any potential delay or backlog communicated. The lack of transparency and failure to provide timely updates is unacceptable. Although Rina apologized and provided a contact number for Miriam (owners wife) I have been unable to reach hGiven the circumstances, I am requesting a full refund and will be taking our tax filing elsewhere. Clear and timely communication is essential in matters of this importance, and unfortunately, that standard was not met. As a result, I have lost confidence and trust in their services and will not be returning.

Never worked on it, knowing I had a time constraint with the IRS to ammend. Ling Ling decided that she didn't feel like doing it after a busy tax season, so they sent me an email saying to pick up my documents in pearl city as they are now closed today. They won't be doing my amendment. She's now on vacation. And I'm out of luck, left in the dust. I tried calling back multiple times. Then they called me back as I was busy, and left me a voicemail saying they will be shredding my original documents. Why? They called me minutes before they closed and said they would be doing that. I need those original documents from the bank and IRS to go somewhere better, and they are spitefully shredding my documents. I can't believe I stooped low enough to go to H&R Block with so many local tax professionals. Don't waste your time with these unprofessional, disrespectful, and selfish people.

The tax person, Jane Saclot, was very pleasant at first and seemed to be doing a great job. Unfortunately, all the went out the door as Jane seemed to get frazzled and disoriented. She corrected a mistake that I pointed out to her and that was the good part. As the clock was ticking, Jane seemed to demonstrate very passive-aggressive behavior. While it's hard to say what one is dealing with in life, it is my belief that we are to put aside all personal challenges when we are at work. Sadly, Jane didn't seem to be able to do that. While the location, staff and schedule were great at the H&R Block Waipio office, I will not be going back to have Jane prepare my taxes. I don't need to be paying for passive-aggressive behavior. I can get that for free on my own! LOL! Dennis Smith at the H&R Block Kapolei office is the best! Unfortunately, I was too lazy to drive there and ended up scheduling with Jane at the Waipio office. Moral of the story: drive to where the service is good and the passive-aggressive behavior is at a minimum. Plus, gas prices are very low now so driving should be no issue. There comes a time when each of us has to serious contemplate if we are in the right industry. If we are not happy and efficient at our job, then it's time to consider other options such as career change, retirement, etc. We are not necessarily bad people, but perhaps the job isn't the right one for us. Aloha.
