My husband and I have this philosophy that you should buy into people and the service they provide and not just the service or product itself. We checked around for a few tax services or CPA's that could help us with our unique situation and stumbled upon Mike via Yelp. We contacted him after browsing through countless services and he was very quick with his responses. I initially contacted him via phone email and he responded back fairly quickly giving us a quote catered to our situation. My husband and Mike have exchanged a few phone calls to set up an appointment and after talking on the phone, he was able to meet us within 72 hours (mind you, this was planned very early within the tax season I can't guarantee you what the turnaround would be for yourself and we cannot vouch for Mike's schedule). Fortunately, Mike was able to meet us at our home in Mililani (his office is in town) and talk to us personally about our taxes. Mike was very personable, attentive, and detail oriented. He didn't make us feel awkward and we actually had a great conversation with him during our meeting. He asked us a lot of questions because our tax situation was a bit difficult and he was open to us about the different ways we could resolve any bumps along the way and the situations that may arise when we filed our taxes. After our meeting, he got to work and within a few days we got our Hawaii and Federal taxes filed. A week after that, we got our Louisiana state taxes filed as well. Through the whole process, Mike was very transparent with us about our options and how it would affect our tax return. He kept us in the loop every step of the way and I would definitely recommend him! If you want a CPA that is honest, transparent, and knowledgeable Mike is definitely a good fit for you. *Side note, we chose Mike because he had great reviews! I rated Mike a 5 star as he has always done great work for me during the past three years; however, when I submitted my 2022 taxes to him 2 weeks ago, I started getting strange emails with comments accusing me of things that never happened in the past. I rarely received any calls from him questioning my tax information so I was totally confused by his comments. I was refereed to Mike to assist me in filing my taxes for last year as well as the 3-ish years prior that I hadn't yet filed YIKES. Anyway, I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. That year was the year that I also started my own LLC so I was both excited and overwhelmed with filing my taxes that year. I sought Mike, and he was highly knowledgeable with my particular (mess LOL) situation: 1) Self-Employed Sole Proprietor LLC, 2) a contracted worker and also 3) a working waged employee at another company 4) had not filed for years. Mike came to my office at a time that was convenient for me, and within minutes he had collected all the information he needed (business expenses, revenues, 1099's, W-2's, etc.) and was on his way. Days later, I received government tax return checks in the mail and I was a little more rich but more importantly; relieved.
