Joanne and her assistant Bonnie really impress me with their ability to be familiar with my personal business and financial goals. Joanne seems like she can pick up wherever she left off last, and can remember details, offer suggestions, and find ways to reduce the tax liability through IRAs, or with proper estimated tax payments. When I call and leave a message for Joanne, Bonnie can recall who I am and remembers to tell me messages back from Joanne. I'm so flattered. I would not be able to do my own taxes due to the amount of time it would take. I totally trust Joanne's Tax and Business Services. I would highly recommend her 100%. Thank you Joanne! If you ever read this, I hope you know that I meant every nice word! Even the part about filing taxes early! Yelp 365 Challenge: 147/365

Then we moved states and one of us kept Hawaii residency while the other changed residency and worked in Maryland full time while also working with the Maine Air National Guard. Yup, that's at least three state taxes minimum - four if we changed jobs in different states mid-year - along with federal annually. Add moves to Alabama, Massachusetts, and Virginia in there and we fully expected them to dump us as clients one day. Nope. If they didn't know they found out. They were always quick to respond and professional but friendly. We usually do everything over email. I finally got to meet Jodi today and it was a great experience! Honestly they're worth every single penny they charge. If you're looking for new CPAs these are the locals for you.

So around 7 years ago on the recommendation of a friend, we started having our taxes prepared by Lisa and have always been very happy with her knowledge and professionalism on all things tax related. There were even some exemptions that she informed us about that we didn't know we could claim that helped us maximize our returns than if we were doing our own filing. Over the last few years, it's become just my return that needs to be prepared and they're a little less complicated but I still have Lisa prepare them. I have the utmost confidence in her and have no doubt her fees are worth every penny...not to mention it saves me many hours of hair pulling that I would probably be doing otherwise if I were trying to do them on my own.

After engaging with the CPA in a face to face setting early year and meting with one other…read morecompetitive CPA firm, we decided to move our business to Reyn Wicklund, even though the referral was to his father who started the business many years prior. Sadly he was no longer actively running it so we got the hand off to the kid. It started with some up front dialogue on getting started; jump on his portal for communications, uploads etc, add then to approving him for access banking, GET taxes and some other areas. All the typical new CPA working so fun prep steps. Then comes the long long gap of communications. To be exact zero replies on multiple emails requesting support and guidance on his own portal. When monthly GET was due we had no trust it was being handled, as it was not. So we paid it ourselves then emailing, reaching out but again Reyn decided to do it last minute without telling us. So now we've paid twice. Weeks months pass and more zero contact we are running our business not thinking about it which is sole purpose of this relationship from start as an owner my plate is overflowing with to do's, until another month the two and more lack of transparency lack of replies to countless messages about credit cards Quickbooks and so on. Terrible management. Now knee deep into mid year and no trust this guy has done a single thing for us (as had not) since double paying our GET. Sadly we are now back to square one and bookkeeping backed up so so much more. It's sad to feel this was so frustrated with a CPA. Especially of which was referred from a local and respected banker back in the day who knew his father personally. I suggest stay far from this CPA. Sometimes hard work and building a business from scratch you respect your clients you communicate with your valuable clients, not ignore them. Pick up a phone Reyn make a phone call. Reply when a letter has been written to you. Take responsibility. Well that's where entitlement comes in in our eyes with Reyn. He likely has no idea what it takes to build something from scratch and all the hard work to do so. If he did he'd know the importance of transparency and good communications.

I am absolutely disappointed in this company and have had my taxes done by other professionals. Extreme lack of communication, their online system means I have to do a lot of work to put in my tax information, then they can't follow simple instructions to file. No communication on whether they filed extensions when they did not complete/file on time. I gave all of my information in advance of the deadline and they didn't file my taxes because our invoice was due. (An invoice that was never sent to us and no communication that it was over due). You should trust that your taxes professional has it all covered. It's what you pay for and I don't think we received any value for the over $1000 we paid for our very simple tax returns. They refuse to review the errors in filing as we got a notice that our bank account was wrong for the direct deposit and have not even confirmed that my taxes were filed. The response was "it's whatever you gave us" and that we need to fix it ourselves. What kind of service is that? To date I have no communication on a simple question of if my taxes were filed as the IRS does not have a status on my taxes return. Please help yourself in avoiding the stress of taxes and go to someone that will treat you professionally.
