I don't typically like to write a less-than-stellar review, particularly for someone as personable and kind as Tricia, but our overall experience with her business hasn't been great. As a consumer, I prefer to have a well-rounded view before working with someone, so I'm hoping to provide that here. When we first reached out to Tricia, she returned our message right away, which was amazing, especially given the time of year. We scheduled a call with her and she was kind, energetic and incredibly helpful in answering all our initial questions. We got all our tax stuff together and submitted early March. It took a while to get our return back and processed, which we understood. I have an accountant in the family, I know how hard they work, especially come March and April. I also understand there have been a lot of changes to tax law the last few years, and that adds a level of complexity. I did send several follow-up emails leading up to the tax deadline that went unacknowledged; it wasn't until I texted that I finally got a response updating us about our return's progress. When we first received our draft return, it was CONSIDERABLY less than we were expecting - like several thousands of dollars off. We reached out to Tricia about it and the error was found, but it was effectively blamed on the software they use... which was pretty concerning. We sought out an accountant because we don't want to solely depend on software, but to have those expert eyes looking at our numbers. If my husband hadn't known what to look for, would we simply have been out all that money? Secondly, I asked Tricia for help with my GET taxes, and we started off great, but the summer passed and I stopped receiving responses to my messages. She did eventually respond saying she'd had some personal stuff come up and would hopefully get back to me soon. That was in August. I sent one follow up several weeks later, to ask if we needed to find a new accountant, and never received a response... so I guess that's that. All in all, Tricia is a very kind person, and I imagine like many of us during COVID and post-COVID, there's just a LOT to deal with. At present, she doesn't seem willing or available to provide services, and so that, along with the difficulties in reaching her and the error on our return, are the reasons for my rating. read more

My wife and I have tried a number of tax services over the years. As a result of the latest disappointment, we were looking to change. Who to trust with such an important task? Yelp had a suggestion, so we jumped. The result was such a delight! Her process was a great fit for us. We uploaded our various documents to her site. She would suggest what was missing. We would follow up and upload those documents. It was a much simpler way for us to do it. Once we were done - it seemed like no time passed and the return was ready. Between the amount both State and Fed owed us and her fee, we were so glad to have found her. The list of advantages is very long, so I will hit the highlights: She is a wonderfully nice person. She is VERY talented at assisting her clients. Her rates are extremely fair. You can choose what level of contact you want (from in-person to contactless). If you have any doubt about the service you are using, Banyan should be your first choice. You will not regret it AND you will benefit. That is two or three reasons to change right there! read more
