Itasca Bank took over about $80 from me over a year and then closed my account without warning…read more Originally I had a student account in my Junior/Senior year of high school which included free paper statements every month which I highly appreciated. Every time I attempted to sign up for online banking I either got a non-registered account error or a wrong password. I had called several times to attempt to fix that situation and each time they responded that a representative would call me back who never did. However, having a student account the $4 statement fee per month was waived, this was fine until I turned 18, they started sending me the $4 fees every month and I did not know of this as I was in college at this point. When I came back I learned that even when I didn't spend any money that month they were still sending me statements just to charge me $4 for said statement. I instantly called and they reversed the statement for that month only, when I told the representative on the phone that I no longer wanted these statements because I was being charged for them to send me these statements, she said I had to do that through online banking. When I explained to her that I could NOT use online banking and that I had reached out for help on several occasions she said a representative could talk to me. No representative followed up on the issue again. After that interaction, I was rightfully on edge about the statements and when I went back to school I asked both of my parents to tell me if I got anything from Itasca Bank. Since that time I had only received two more letters, one was another statement charging me $8 for two paper statements and the other was a statement charging me $4 and saying my account balance was $1.04. I instantly called a representative to have the charges reversed AGAIN to which she responded she couldn't because they had closed my account. I dropped everything I was doing today to come down to Itasca Bank to solve this problem, the banker who talked to me was very kind but was new. He did a great job helping me and even noted that the entire situation was odd, he and his coworker asked to make sure that they could fix my problem while I was in town but when he got his manager she came in and told me there was no way I could get my money back and even made a comment about how it was "only $13" in the account if they were to reverse some of the fees. She said it was because it was "past 90 days" but also that my "account had a negative balance" and because of that I still technically owe them money (it was -$2). Itasca Bank was rude and I did not even want all of the statements reversed, I would have even taken the $1.04 if they had worked with me but they wouldn't even do that. I'd give 0 stars if I could never bank with them. I am especially upset with the manager acting as if because it was only $13 my case didn't matter. TLDR; Itasca Bank sent me statements charging me just to send them, online banking never worked, no resolve

Even a pizza delivery driver is now called a Food Managment Engineer. Anyway, three phone calls answered by a computer. Have you noticed most companies just changed their menu, or our Human Interaction Engineers are helping other people and thank us for our patience? Ummm, no I have no more patience to be thanked for. It is strange that when I walk into the Bank. there are two people working there and no customers, yet they make it sound like they are SOOO busy. I'm tired of computers answering the phone: I can help you better, Tell me why you called, We thank you for your patience. Programmers: Computers are not human and there is no I, We, Understanding, Gratefulness...it is only a pile of horse dung. I finally on the fourth call got a different phone number to call for my questions. That person helped me...who was probably outside of the United States which is fine as long I I can understand them. The honest bottom line no matter what the Bank says...they have money to wrap fish in. They don't care about us. When I say they, I mean corporate.

With that said, I am glad I have a brick and motor bank that I could turn to in a time of need. This review is primarily about the Bank Manager Sam Patel - who has been at this location quite a few years now. This is my only bank and I have been a customer through several different incarnations. Sam stands out as a manager of high integrity who is truly vested in assisting patrons such as myself. Recently, I had a huge fraud situation that depleted my checking and savings accounts and when I got the alert from BOA I was literally pannicked. I quite literally jumped into my car and almost ran into the bank. Sam immediately responded to me and helped to report the fraud. The following week I went back into the bank because things were not exactly straightened out yet (not her responsibility). First of all, she saw me enter the bank and waved me into her office. She asked me how things were and I admit I broke down and cried. She called the fraud dept again and asked them to expedite my claim and restore my accounts. By the next day things were back to order. Some may say that Sam was only doing her job - and while I agree, it is not that she does her job expertly - she does it with heart and compassion. I am ever so lucky to actually bank where she works. THANK YOU from my Heart SAM!

I had some fraud issues pretty serious. I will tell you that I've made more trips into that bank to talk to the personal banker to help me solve all these issues. She was absolutely of no help actually made things worse so she ended up closing all my accounts and re-issuing me new cards debit cards for those accounts, of course that gave me a lot of work to do to change all my auto pays and so on and so forth well then couple days ago I had to go in there for another issue regarding the fraud. She really didn't know what she was doing. She kept making phone calls never really gotten an answer for me so she called over her. Her manager who was the rudest condescending individual I have ever met. She kept talking down to me and I just told her she needs to treat me with respect because I am the client She really never did solve my problem because I got so upset. I said I'm leaving so I did I left went into Walgreens to use my new debit card. It was not accepted. The account was closed, so I went back to the bank, went into the managers office and said what gives you the right to close my new account for no apparent reason, what gives you that right Anyway she said well. The only thing I can do for you is issue you a new card which meant I had to go through the whole process again of changing off my account I truly believe in my heart that that is illegal to close down someone's personal debit card for no apparent reason so I will no longer be going into that branch when I get my wits together, I will be changing into another bank, but right now I need to decompress from all the trauma of all this going on stuff just want you people to be aware that not everybody at your bank is your best interest so just be safe. Be careful. Ask a lot of questions
