Came upon this comic book store yesterday, by chance, as I was heading to a meeting in the area. I decided to stop in and take a look around and I'm so glad that I did. They have a great selection and variety of comics! The staff is very friendly too. I was elated to see a big X-Men section and I found some trade papers I hadn't seen before so I had to have them. I also found a Conan the Barbarian featuring Red Sonja which was on sale. They sell some snacks and have gumball machines with comic-related toys. They also have a Comic Shop News papers which you can have for free. I've never seen this at other comic book shops. If I lived in the area I'd probably be a regular. Still, I think I'll make it a point to stop in every so often and check out the selection. This place is fantastic and one of the top comic shops in the city in my opinion.

Our recent pick up from First Aid. Sweet covers.

Love your shop. My first review had more to say but my phone died and now I'm just saying keep up the great work!

Great staff, great selection, great atmosphere. I don't live in Hyde Park any more, but I still come down here to get my weekly fix.

The setup is different, but still had a good selection comics to funko pops, games, collectibles and more. Very friendly staff, greeted once coming in. The game room in the back is still available. The value of the comics are at a good price. No complaints. I was sad to see G-Mart comics go, but I am glad it stayed comic shop. I wish Dark Tower comics so much success. I will be back soon.

Not really a comic shop pro. I got back into reading comics during COVID, but mostly digital and…read moreafter a while it turned into buying physical stuff. G-Mart (the previous shop that occupied this space) was very close to me so it was my go to shop. I found their online ordering setup a bit old school, but man what I wouldn't give to have that back. At least G-Mart would send you e-mails updating you on your order. The Dark Tower system is definitely more modern, but there's no real notifications unless I'm missing something. No more discounts on subs either which is a real kick in the dick. I pre-ordered a comic months in advance, again no real e-mail communication. Showed up on the release date and they just straight up didn't have it. The good thing is they don't charge you ahead of time like G-Mart did. Luckily Challengers had it in stock though! The other day I got a new releases e-mail for the first time in the history of the store becoming Dark Tower and it's just some dudes name instead of Dark Tower so I thought it was junk. I dunno man, I usually like the real local mom and pop feel of stores because everything is a shitty chain these days, but this place may be a little too mom and pop. Hopefully I've just had bad luck with them but I'm back to a digital only comic reader for the time being.

Yesterday was my first time visiting the store was looking forward to check the place out and see…read moreif there was anything interesting to read for the week. It was calm and decent even though there were a lot boxes around the store that made things difficult to get through and there wasn't anyone available in the checkout section since I think the owner who was wearing a checkered black and white shirt with a black hat who looks like he's in mid or late 40s and other staff member were getting some vintage comics packed up to mall for the holidays which is understandable. There was a comic book I was interested in purchasing I think it was a vintage Spider-Man book from the 60s or 70s that had the lizard on the front and I was gonna purchase it until the owner came in with a stressed or angry attitude towards me saying that all the comic in the white boxes needed to be alphabetical order and he took it from my hand without even saying anything in a proper manner that they weren't for sale and that whatever was on the shelf were the ones on sale. Thankfully, I'm a person who's calm and didn't have a reaction like anyone would and it was a place that I won't visiting again for a while, maybe until the holiday session is over and the owner is calm then I'll give them another chance. Moral of the story is that comic book owners who are have a stressful day and a negative attitude, don't be afraid to take a day off and get some time for yourself.
