It's very convenient to know what's in stock and to get timely answers. Most hobby places I've dealt with in the past are very slow when it comes to responses/non existent. Outside of great communication, owner/staff are very friendly and overall fantastic people to deal with. To the fun stuff - it's a classic card shop with a great selection and cool memorabilia as well. There is no other place around with this many Lorcana or Riftbound singles. It's all at market price. Doing trades or buying a large volume? The owner is happy to work with you and make a deal. Which brings me to the most important part, the owner. He is friendly and more importantly he actually is a gamer so he not only understands the collector aspect of TCG but he is committed to the tournament aspect and league night aspects. The store is relatively new so it's still building a reputation but it's hopefully snowballing. This weekend it's hosting a Lorcana cash prize tournament and 40 people have signed up. 40 people showing up to a Lorcana local in 2025 in Chicagoland is almost unheard of.

There were a good amount of back issues I was interested in, but so many weren't bagged and boarded and were definitely beginning to show some shelf wear. The bigger issues, though, is that nothing is clearly organized by series--or even publisher. There had clearly been some attempts to sort things out, but without any major success. It was frustrating to say the least. The owner was nice and happy to talk to you, and his interactions with other customers of varying sorts were very friendly as well. Sadly, there was a very offering radio station playing the whole time I was there detailing 9/11 conspiracies and whether or not Hunter Biden should be in jail. The owner said it was really just 'background noise,' but it sort of started to weird me out a bit. Regardless, i found a few books I wanted and decided to head out. At checkout, I paid with cash and wasn't charged any additional sales tax--which I always appreciate.

Yesterday was my first time visiting the store was looking forward to check the place out and see…read moreif there was anything interesting to read for the week. It was calm and decent even though there were a lot boxes around the store that made things difficult to get through and there wasn't anyone available in the checkout section since I think the owner who was wearing a checkered black and white shirt with a black hat who looks like he's in mid or late 40s and other staff member were getting some vintage comics packed up to mall for the holidays which is understandable. There was a comic book I was interested in purchasing I think it was a vintage Spider-Man book from the 60s or 70s that had the lizard on the front and I was gonna purchase it until the owner came in with a stressed or angry attitude towards me saying that all the comic in the white boxes needed to be alphabetical order and he took it from my hand without even saying anything in a proper manner that they weren't for sale and that whatever was on the shelf were the ones on sale. Thankfully, I'm a person who's calm and didn't have a reaction like anyone would and it was a place that I won't visiting again for a while, maybe until the holiday session is over and the owner is calm then I'll give them another chance. Moral of the story is that comic book owners who are have a stressful day and a negative attitude, don't be afraid to take a day off and get some time for yourself.

It's easily one of the best spots we've found for both Pokémon and One Piece cards. Aleah and Haley were super friendly and welcoming, and Ari was incredibly helpful when I had questions. The pricing is pretty much in line with most card shops for both sealed products and singles, but what really stood out was the overall experience. They have a ton of variety to choose from, and the atmosphere made it a great visit. On top of that, the staff even gave us some free merch for my girlfriend's birthday, which was such an awesome and thoughtful touch. We'll definitely be coming back soon! EDIT: We stopped by CardPop again before heading up to Chicago, and even though it was a different staff this time, we had the same great experience. The customer service was outstanding once again. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and communicated exceptionally well. We had the pleasure of meeting James and Bryce, and both were incredibly helpful and easy to talk to.
