I was looking for a shotgun, for personal defense. The staff asked me about my familiarity, military. I was interested in a pump action, when I saw this beautiful and serious Beretta A300, tactical. The salesmen were informative, affable. This was my first purchase in decades. Along with my gun buy, I bought shells and a was provided passes to their firing range. It was suggested I bring my A300, at a time they provided, for firing; I did and what an awesome buy. I'm totally satisfied. I used my passes, even visited with friends who never fired a weapon and the FL folks were warm and patient, spending time at the range with them. Very satisfying experience. I will return for my next buy.

I've always wanted to go to firing range but I missed my chance to do so while living in NY, so I was esp glad to find this place and to see that there is no membership or all that jazz. If you are novice shooter like moi, I'd recommend you call and schedule a session with an instructor who will show you the ropes. I didn't know I had to do this but I went at a time that twas busy and they were very nice and accommodating..and patient. You pay a fee for the gun, a fee for the bullets and I think a fee just for using the range. Either way it's not the expensive at the end of the day. I went with my girlfriend and as expected we were the only two females there. As a woman, i wouldn't go alone cause it's just a musty place.

When in Philly, you must go to Firing Lane. If you're looking for respect, professionalism, a nice range, great price and a great stock of firearms, this is the place to go... I'm on business from NY and this place had the best ratings so I chose to come here and kill some time, I definitely made the right choice, Gary took good care of me. Ended up shooting 3 different pistols, among the best of which I loved so much was the Sig-Sauer P365, amazing little shooter, too bad I can't buy one with my NY pistol license. His exact words, "sold so many of them and just ordered 100 more" I would definitely recommend this place

Pretty rude. Typical bad attitude you'll find at most gun shops. Have to make an appointment to even look at inventory.

I've been wanting to go to the gun range for a loooong time and what better city to shoot a gun in than Philly?

I used to be a big fan of The Gun Range because of their friendly staff and their policy allowing outside ammo. As someone who buys in bulk from Cheaper Than Dirt, being able to bring my own rounds makes this hobby much more affordable. Unfortunately, my last visit with my son was a major disappointment: Shotgun Ammo Price Gouging: We brought a new Boss 25 to break in, only to be told we could no longer use outside shotgun ammo. They quoted me $48 for a box of 25 shells. For context, I buy 250 shells online for $86. That is a massive markup. Misleading Safety Claims: When I questioned the policy change, the manager claimed it was due to a fire caused by "faulty shotgun ammo" at another range. I looked this up while waiting; the fire she referenced was actually attributed to faulty air filtration, not ammo. Poor Customer Service: We bought two targets but only ended up using one. When I tried to return the unused, unrolled target, I was told it was "unreturnable" because it was rolled up--despite the fact that the clerk was the one who rolled it when selling it to us. A private business has every right to change its policies, but they should be honest about it. Don't hide behind safety excuses to justify inflated prices. They've lost my business and my trust.

Went with my GF for her first time. As gun ranges go, it's solid. The big plus for me is that the…read morepeople I dealt with were very nice and did not have that typical gun range attitude that you're likely to find. I saw them interacting with people that were clearly first time shooters and they seemed very nice and helpful. As someone that was clearly experienced, they didn't ask me a lot of questions, and just gave me the information on their range protocol and I was good to go. I went on a weekend and it does get busy. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a lane, which really isn't that bad. I appreciated the fact that you can bring your own ammo with a few restrictions such as in rounds, tracer, steel, core, etc. Nothing too over-the-top, and all very reasonable. I did not buy any ammo there, so I can't comment on the prices. The range rental fees are for as long as you like to shoot, which is very nice. They have a number of handguns and long guns for rent, the only restriction there is you must use their ammo and you must have at least two people... For some reason, they will not rent a firearm to single shooters. The shooting positions are a little narrow, but are absolutely fine for two people. There is not much room behind each position, especially if there are many people on the range, so keep that in mind. It is good to note that since they allow a wide range of calibers, you may find yourself on a line with people shooting long rifles and large caliber handguns. If you're a first time shooter, or don't like it crowded, I would strongly recommend going during the week. They have extended hours until 9 PM every day, but Sunday, which is great. The Saturday that we went the range was completely full, and some shooters were shooting large caliber rifles, as well as a few people had full auto or maybe they rented them. It's definitely a little overwhelming if you're not prepared for it!

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the selection is great, and they have the absolute best prices on whatever you're looking for. I don't even bother shopping online because they'll usually have it for the lowest price I can find, or only a bit more, which is worth it to keep these guys around. Their NFA services are also great; I hate dealing with paperwork, but they make it fast and easy. Their engraving services are also the best I've seen the area. All in all, I can't say enough good stuff about the place.

I contacted them and asked for authorization to return the stock. They said: they couldn't see the crack; the crack wasn't serious; it wasn't cracked when they sent it; they had a photo showing it wasn't cracked; they did not insure it when shipping; they would not accept a return; I should try to get Steyr to warranty the broken stock. I contacted my credit card company and told them I had done so. Then they seemed more interested and said: we will send you a return label; we will refund you when we get the stock back; we have a brick-and-mortar store and lots of great reviews. I don't believe any of it. Their customer service is angry and rude. They implied several times that I was trying to cheat them in some way. I said: I will just let my credit card company handle it from here. Then they reported my emails to them asking for a return to Amazon AWS as spam (weird) and left a dishonest review for me on GunBroker. They've had 40 bad reviews on GunBroker since they signed up on July 5, 2016. I've had one (from them) since I signed up on March 12, 2000. I'd recommend never buying anything from them.

Now if you're in the market for a cheap, small, used pistol (like a Derringer or a Berretta .25) Colosimo's is a good place to shop-- they have those in spades. But for higher-end mechandise you can often find better deals at South Philadelphia Gun and Archery or Clayton's in Horsham. That being said, if you find something you like, there is normally room to haggle here. Colosimo's also has a range next door. Haven't been to it, so I can't comment, but last time I was there they were only equipped for handguns and .22s, no high-power rifles. Though they were talking about upgrading, so if you're in that area of town and have a rifle, you might wanna check it out to see. It should be noted that Colosimo's has been targeted by the gun-control crowd over the years, so if you support the continuation of progressive gun laws in Philly, you might wanna give Colosimo's some business, even if it's just to buy ammo.
