If I could, I'd give the place 2 and 3/4 stars, the additional 3/4 for their friendly service. The problem I got with this place is it's overpriced, and doesn't have a very good selection of long guns. Now if you're in the market for a cheap, small, used pistol (like a Derringer or a Berretta .25) Colosimo's is a good place to shop-- they have those in spades. But for higher-end mechandise you can often find better deals at South Philadelphia Gun and Archery or Clayton's in Horsham. That being said, if you find something you like, there is normally room to haggle here.
Colosimo's also has a range next door. Haven't been to it, so I can't comment, but last time I was there they were only equipped for handguns and .22s, no high-power rifles. Though they were talking about upgrading, so if you're in that area of town and have a rifle, you might wanna check it out to see.
It should be noted that Colosimo's has been targeted by the gun-control crowd over the years, so if you support the continuation of progressive gun laws in Philly, you might wanna give Colosimo's some business, even if it's just to buy ammo. read more
