First off, the staff.. Friendly enough, but they don't know what they're selling in some cases and the green ones just aren't trained properly. Ask a question about a specific item, and you'll, at-times, get a shrug, a guess, or a gentle push toward buying something they think might work. Other times, you'll get a jbiwkedgavbke individual who can be friendly. On one end, It's the kind of customer service that leaves you doubting your purchase the second you walk out; while on the other, you'll be happy enough. All is good enough to fit the norm and I would give it a high rating, but what really turned my head the other way, though, is the direction this store is heading. They quietly got rid of their firearms section, clearly as a political move to appeal to the mainstream. That might earn them points in certain circles, but let's be honest, sportsmen don't follow woke trends, and we don't check our rights at the door just to make people feel comfortable. If a true sporting goods store doesn't stand behind all aspects of the outdoor and sporting lifestyle, then what are they really selling? I felt like Diane was our personal concierge as she helped us for at least a half an hour. Robert helped us with the backpacks as well. Another nice employee. As with my prior visit many years ago, the staff was helpful and not pushy, which is always huge for me because I can't stand pushy people. Diane, let us know about this great credit card that REI has and the great bonus that goes with it - you get a $100 gift card to REI when you spend outside of REI (any amount!) within a two month period. Easy cheesy to do that! While this isn't a store for me, it will be for my daughter. The quality of their clothing is exceptional! We left happy and definitely satisfied!

I can't understand some of the hate on this business. I have been dealing with The Warming Store…read morenow for fifteen years. We are inveterate skiers who love the Winter outdoors and spend 60-80 ski days yearly. Still, comfort is the name of the game. I have two heated vests, a heated pullover, a heated fleece jacket, two pair of gloves and a pair of mittens that I purchased from The Warming Store. I have never, ever, had a problem with them. As a matter of fact, the first pair of heated ski gloves I bought from them started shutting off and on after six years of use, and taking note of their lifetime warranty, I called their repair number and spoke to Margaret, who asked me to return them. They repaired them and sent them back within two weeks. The gloves are now working flawlessly. It must be said that before I started purchasing gloves from them, I had purchased heated gloves from a competitor. I had a similar shutting off and on problem with those gloves and after sending them back, I got a note that they wouldn't cover them again as I used them too much. So then I went with the Warming Store. I have not had a problem since. And additionally, I purchased additional upgraded glove batteries from them. I can be on the slopes for a full day without changing batteries. As well, I also bought a large, extended life battery for my heated vest that although the size of an iPhone, I can wear it on the mid setting on a 0º day for the entire ski day and the battery is still over 50% charged.
