Best ribs ever. Onion rings melt-in-mouth. Mac n' cheese "obviously" homemade and fantastic.
James P.

Very frustrating to see how the quality has changed. This place used to be top 3 in the area for me. Ribs have become small and not-meaty at all. Onion rings had barely any rings. Mostly broken pieces of breaded onions. Slice of bread under the ribs was stale and rock hard. Not at all worth $30.00 to spend on a dinner here any more.

BBQ ribs, pulled pork, Beef Brisket, corn bread

Ribs were so tough I couldn't even cut them with the plastic knife or pull them apart. Ribs should be zero stars, we threw them away. Brisket was good and pulled pork but not much flavor as served so make sure to dip in bbq sauce. Mac and cheese tasted like a fake watery cheese sauce sprinkled with real melted cheese on top to give the illusion of cheese, and potato salad was edible but again not great but not bad. Corn bread was delicious. Overall, I wouldn't go back. Burning anything like ribs should not be served ever. If you burned them, why serve them to a customer, the location was nice as well as ambiance but I wouldn't still pass on this one. It's hard to mess up bbq ribs this much.

So there I was, bbq sauce on my... well you know the rest. I've been to this location plenty of times, I'm surprised I haven't reviewed it. To be real, the only thing I ever had was the pulled pork fries. I tried them once and it was a hit! I usually pour an ungodly amount of spicy bbq all over them for an extra kick. I need to be sniffling. The portion is huge (to me) and usually end up with lunch for the following day, and they taste just as good reheated!! Everyone has always been very kind to my family, and you're able to see them prep the food. The vibes are very rustic, southern in the Midwest type of feel. A couple of tv's for the iPad kids and game betting dads. They have merch too, t shirts in case you end up with bbq sauce all over you.

I always ask for the bbq sauce on the side because when I didn't, there was way too much sauce for my liking. Plus the meat is so well seasoned and moist, I didn't want a lot of sauce to cover it up. Their food is good and portions are generous, so I keep coming back. I also had their wings - great flavor and they serve FULL wings (NOT tiny pigeon flats and drumettes like most places ). The wings are normal size, crispy and well seasoned. Again, I asked for sauce on the side. So glad I don't have to drive all the way to the city for Chi style BBQ! Walked in and there were TONS of people waiting for food (had to be good) ordered half slab of ribs, rib tips and wings. Now be prepared to wait but it's worth it!! Gentleman working was super helpful and friendly. Food was really great and I am a BBQ snob!! Smokey and full of flavor. We are most definitely going to return. We had mild sauce on ours but you can get hot or get it mixed. Not a lot of items on menu but not needed!! My husband doesn't eat coleslaw and he tried theirs and he actually liked it. Small business but big on quality. I give it 5 piggy snouts. Y'all sleeping on some good food in Joliet.

Station One Smokehouse offers a variety of different meats by the pound or in sandwich form - brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and more. All the meats will bring a smile to your face. The smoke ring is there, everything is still juicy, and there's quite the variety of sides. BBQ sauces are available with utensils and drinks off to the side, but you could do without the sauce. The food is that good. It's a legit BBQ place when they're not trying to slathering their meats in sauce trying to conceal something. There's also a bar and TVs to enjoy beers and sports that runs the length of the interior. Station One knows their craft and it's nice to see a legitimate BBQ spot. The only problem is that it isn't closer to my house.

Moist and plenty of meat with good flavor. The sides were decent and I really enjoyed the beans. The brisket was probably the second Worst I've ever had. Flavor was meh and t was so dried out the hot link was also way overcooked and dried out but had d dent flavor. The cheddar Jalepeno was solid. Frankly for what should be one of there busiest night no excuse. I would drive down the road to Sharkos on route 59 and 111th before I go back here

Service is prompt and friendly…read more We ordered the sample platter which was plenty of food to split between three people and still have leftovers. YMMV depending on your party's appetite. Brisket - not the best I've had, but definitely good Pork Belly Burnt Ends - delicious! The sticky sweet sauce they come in is amazing. Pulled Pork - good Sausage link - meh Mac & Cheese - better than many places, but I'd probably try a different side next time Tater Tots - sooo good! Texas Twinkie - perfect flavor and jalapeno poppers and not usually my thing Pickles and pickled onions - so good! Pecan pie - took this home to eat later and it was one of the best pies I've ever had The BBQ sauce at a place can make it or break it. I didn't care for the vinegar based one, but their honey bbq sauce is delicious. I appreciated that they gave me a cup of it automatically when I asked for a to go container.

Being from Alabama, fresh-brewed sweet tea is a must for me with BBQ. Matt's does not have sweet tea but I called and asked if I could bring my own. I was told sure so that made it extra special for me. As I entered Matt's, I ordered at the counter and I had help from the nice lady. She told me all meat plates come in 1/2 pound but I could order sliders that came in 1/4. That's why I went with the brisket slider and pulled pork slider. I wanted to try the pork belly burnt ends but those didn't come in a sandwich. Both sliders were fantastic! The meat was juicy and what I exactly want from BBQ. The pulled pork slider went extremely well with the Carolina Vinegar sauce like it should. The honey BBQ and hot honey BBQ were better matches with the brisket. I loved all 3 sauces but was most impressed with the Carolina Vinegar. The meat and sauces were impressive but the sides over all were underwhelming for me. Something to note was that this might be the only BBQ joint I have ever been to with so many sides and baked beans was not one of them. The slaw was all right but adding the Carolina vinegar took it to another level. The potato salad was homemade and actually cost an extra $1 for some reason. But I didn't like it because I don't like celery. That one is on me because other than the celery, it was all right. But the side I was most disappointed with was the mac and cheese. The lady behind the counter told me they do not make it in house but buy it frozen and smoke it. They need to find another formula for it because this was not worth $5 for a side of Mac and cheese. The noodles were too doughy and could tell it was indeed frozen at one point and the cheese was more like nacho cheese than real cheese. I couldn't even finish it with how disappointed and disgusted I was with it. Despite the sides, Matt's gets the most important part of BBQ right and that's the meat. The meat and sauces were top notch and I truly appreciate them letting bring in my own sweet tea.

Soon after it came out (fast service for sure!) and I added to the meat one of three different BBQ sauces (sweet). Oh man this hit the spot. The meat was tender and flavorful, the BBQ sauce added so much to it. And the Mexican Street Corn was also on point with the right amount of mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, and spices.
