I have been going there for a while because how close they are to my home. In general the customer service is good. I like the managers and they are usually very nice. However, I am extremely unsatisfied with their work. First instance, I had my break pads changed with them in 2018, 10 months later, they are no longer working. I was told it was because of my driving habit. However, when I took it somewhere else, I was told the installation of the break pads are not correct which caused the problem. I gave them the benefit of doubt, and continue to have my car serviced there. Second instance, I got my wheel alignment done with them one week ago, paid $200. Today, I took my car to the dealer for for coolant flush, and was told that my wheel alignment was completely off and should take the car back to them. By this point, I just don't know if I can trust the technicians there anymore! read more

Let me preface this as this was 'my place' for anything tire and automotive in Lisle. I've been coming here for years, for oil changes, all my tires for all my vehicles and any other service. I will never go back because of Quentin. I had a blow out and went to 'my auto place'. last winter we installed winter tires. We drive this car more in the winter and just sold our SUV. in the summer its the kids to school and back and thats it. many people there said keeping the winter tires on the car was fine. so after the blow out, he called me and just dug into me, lecture after lecture about why i made such a bad decision on having these tires on the car. I ask him please to just give me the details on my care repair, and he got further upset. I went in the next day and saw a car parked half way in the handicap spot. I wanted to alert the guy working as i thought it was an accident. Quentin quickly said its "my car, this is a private business, i dont have to move it because i dont care" I tried to explain that its open to the public and there are people that may need to use that space, he then said 'you are the guy with the winter tires' and started to double down on how dumb my decision was. Bringing up google to show all the negatives of this stupid decision i made. I explained i just wanted my car fixed, been coming for years and he said, and I quote "well you can start taking it down the street". At one point he told us to get out of his space when we were literally standing on the other side of the counter. at no point did he try to say 'hey lets talk about your tires' it was only a hard push on the stupid decisions i have made (which all of them were at that firestone and supported by their previous staff). He was arrogant, he refused to move from the handicap spot because he said 'he doesn't care). and he just was abusive to us who was just trying to do business and get a tire replace. The tire that was replaced yesterday was also not balanced, but I will take his advise and take it 'down the street' and never, ever do business there again. what a way to treat long time customers who are simply trying to give business. it was like nothing ive ever experienced, its like this employees entire goal is to sabotage the business. Hadn't been for years, and I now remember why. Made an appt, they still got my car in late. I offered to come back before they took it back? but was assured they'd be done within an hour for the oil change & tire rotation. An hour later, I asked to pay & the manager said it wasn't done. I informed him the kid at the desk assured me it would so I could get to my next appt. The front desk kid had not told the guys in back. they took another car first who didn't have an appt. They rushed to finish, so not sure the tires even got rotated. They pulled the car up but lost the keys inside the car, so it took 2 guys to find them. The kid at the desk charged 2x as much as my coupon quoted (which I showed when I checked in and had been approved). After paying, he told me he forgot to charge for the coffee I made (what?!). I suggested we call it even for the delay in the car readiness & he responded that I shouldn't make an appointment & not give them enough time to do the car then. Unorganized customer service & the interactions between the front desk and the guys in the back were negative. Observing the front desk kid interact with another customer didn't leave me assured that he enjoys his job or cares about the customers. read more

Communication from their service reps has become very poor. Make sure you confirm the estimate before work is done. I had come there for the oil change and tire rotation special., $19.99. I dropped my car off and clearly asked for the above work for the 19.99 special, like many visits to this location before. He said ok, are you waiting or dropping off, that was it!When I picked up my car, the agent said the price is $69 plus change, I thought he was kidding. I questioned him, and he said, "just because you say a price does not mean it is for that price." I was livid! This guy was so "oh well" that I couldn't wait to get out. I originally gave a glowing review. Now that Ken is gone the place is now a scam, in my opinion. I never paid so much for an oil change. Yes, I know I need the more expensive fluids etc, due to my car. I was shocked how much more, it was this time. He said I hadn't had an oil change in so long, that was the reason. Not once did he ask, maybe I have had one but not there. He would have learned I did. They rotated the tires etc. Not a week later my tire light went on. I came back, he did not seem pleased I was back. A nice attendant checked my tires and said, they where fine, but nothing was done to turn off my light, saying I had an issue. Here's the scam this duplicitous business likes to run: You bring your vehicle in with an obvious problem -- in my case a car that would hard start, or wouldn't start at all -- and for $30 they'll assert they can't find the problem unless you pay an additional $117 for a thorough diagnostic. What they've done is taken a good-old-fashioned estimate, renamed it, and monetized it. Then, they offer to eat the cost of the diagnostic if you'll simply agree to the overpriced repairs they suggest. Sound shady? It is. Not only did I incur additional damage to the starter on my vehicle after being told they couldn't find the problem, I was nearly killed when the vehicle died in the middle of a busy intersection at night, resulting in my having to push it to safety with 45mph traffic whizzing around me. Luckily, a few kind souls jumped out of their cars to help. You might be asking yourself: what sort of professional mechanic would need over $100 to figure out why a car won't start, and what sort of business would hold a vehicle hostage for an estimate (excuse me, "diagnostic")? The mechanic I took it to afterward wondered the same thing, then fixed it (including a new starter, which Firestone had not included in their price) for just over half what Firestone was asking. Stay away. The only place Firestone will take you is to the cleaners. One look at the plethora of poor reviews of this business should tell you all you need to know. read more

I rarely give a business one star and I never preface a review by saying that if I could give a place zero stars I would. Until now. These pigfuckers are nothing more than scheming, lying and worst of all bullying a-holes and I hope they go out of business and the store burns to the ground. Seriously. Our magnificent chariot (cough) failed its bi-annual emissions testing last month. Boo. So to get it remedied we needed a mechanic to take a look under the hood and see what was causing the error code we were getting. We, in a particularly brilliant moment of naivety thought a chain auto-repair shop with the trusted name of Firestone behind it was a good choice. We gave them a call and asked how quickly they could have our car hooked up to their computer for testing and were told that if we got it in early enough, not very long at all. I got our truck there at 10am, give or take and was then told it wouldn't be until at least 2 or 3 before it could be diagnosed. We don't have another car so I requested a ride home in their courtesy van. Half an hour later I was on my way. They called later that day to give the prognosis. Leaks all over the place and lots of parts needing replacing to the tune of almost $400. I guffawed inside, too horrified physically to react with anything other than 'mm-hmm' repeated over and over like some sort of bemused mantra. We requested they leave our truck outside wiith the keys locked in it, we had a spare pair and would swing by to pick it up later to decide what we were going to do. Meanwhile my father-in-law had a mechanic buddy whom took a look at our truck tonight. There are no leaks. None. Zero. And this guy is a penultimate professional, working at a garage and everything. Most likely it's a bad O2 sensor, we'll see over the next couple of days but most importantly is the sheissters at Firestone of Lisle lied when they told us we had leaks. Bullshit. We don't. Just another bad garage giving bad info to good people and robbing them of their hard earned cash. When confronted with the idea that they were wrong, they told my wife she was free to take it elsewhere but that we'd definitely fail emissions again and come running back to them. The pompous, deceitful and beyond shady managers there should be fired for their behavior on the phone with my wife. She was treated like an idiot and a simpleton, some little girl with clue zero about cars. Being far from the truth, their arrogance is only doubly apparent as a result. Stay far away from this place. Curse it as you drive by. I can only hope Firestone somehow sees this review and decides to nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. read more

Find a better place people - The work performed is suitable and their techs are thorough, comparable to any of the other big names out there. However, very pathetic availability for a walk in appointment unless you are able to wait for over 4 hours or can drop off the car. If scheduling or setting up an appointment in advance be sure to allow min. of 2-4 hours. The people up front talk down and are not helpful when trying to gather all the info to make informed decisions and do not explain well enough to purchase their already HIGHLY expensive products and services. These people are supposed to be the subject matter experts for auto vehicles and help make us feel comfortable when bringing our vehicles in for service - that is not the case here. You will get very limited information which forces you to make difficult decisions even for a simple oil change & tire rotation. I set an 8am appointment for an oil change and tire rotation 2 weeks in advance. Arrived on time & sat in the waiting room not knowing what was going on in the process for over 2 hours. read more

I was very nervous after reading the low star previous Yelp reviews. Nevertheless since Firestone was one of the only places within semi walking distance from my house, I decided to give them a shot. Their shuttle service was pretty nice and saved me some walking and time. The main think was that they actually didn't force a hard line of bullshit of every little thing that was wrong on my P.O.S. Dodge Neon, but rather focused on the 2 main things that I needed to get the car running (motor mount and air hose). Prices were fair, not cheap but for the work they did and that they did it in a timely fashion I was satisfied with the work they did. A tip for everyone, before you go in for service, go to the website and print out the coupons they have so you save a little bit extra. That'll help save a little bit from their slightly higher prices (In respect to prices, I previously had lived in the city where everything is a rip off when it comes to cars). read more

I had the pleasure of dealing with Ken Jaap last Saturday while having a vehicle I was considering purchasing looked over to ensure it was a good buy. Ken and the staff took care to go over the car and gave me a detailed list of things not only needing immediate servicing but things that looked like they'd need serving a little down the road. Their detailed report gave me the information I needed to make an informed decision and to use during the purchasing negotiations. I was then able to call Ken and arranged to have the required servicing dealt with immediately. Again today, he was equally helpful, called with an update during the day and answered my concerns without ever having me feel that I was nothing more than the most of important priorities. It's never fun having to pay out having your car repaired but it's great when it's done in a timely, polite and honest manner. These guys are A1. I asked them if they offered free brake and tire inspections and they said yeah, i asked how long and they said about 45 minutes. Then when i let them know it was a fleet vehicle they said it would take several hours. They said they'd be a lot of paper work involved. I asked why they couldn't just take a quick look, and they said that's not how we do things here. Well the Firestone down the road at Boughton had no issue taking a look in 45 minutes and now they have a nice work order for brakes and tires. Wish I could give zero stars. This place is the biggest ripoff ever. Stay away - the people who run the place only care about money, and not keeping people safe on the road. They overcharge for everything. Miles thinks he runs the place, but he's just some punk kid, while Mike literally does nothing. Management used to be different and better, but now the guys who work there are a hot mess. Not to mention they're always hiring. Wonder why? Just avoid this place at all costs (no pun intended) and save yourself some money! I certainly won't be back - I can get an oil change anywhere (for WAY less than $83) and not have some strangers torquing my lug nuts when I never gave permission for any of these clowns to touch anything else on my vehicle. Guess what else? They charge LABOR for an oil change!!! LOL! $24.99 for LABOR for an OIL CHANGE! Miles' explanation: "I have to pay my technicians, ma'am." Like HE personally pays his techs!!! I've never met a more honest auto shop.They're actually currently working on our Infiniti and I can't wait to get it back all nice and smooth like they did with our Murano. Poor quality service. Rip off artists here. My wife brought the car in for an oil change prior to a long vacation drive to Florida). She was told that her rear brakes were bad(???) Why were they looking at the brakes when all she asked for was an oil change? She went ahead and got the brakes done. We left for FLA the next day and I noticed that on BOTH rear tires, the boneheads forgot to put 2 lugnuts back on. We bought my son a used car with stellar maintenance history. No leaks, everything was perfect. We went and got an oil change; low and behold a couple days after bringing it home the car runs like cr@p and is leaking coolant all over the place. WTF?! Bad luck or shady mechanics? You decide. I bring the car back in and we were told that we need the belts replaced, the radiator replaced because it was leaking, and a tune up because the car is misfiring. Hmmmm it was running great before we brought it there. I get quoted a $400-500 repair cost. I tell them to forget it since the car isn't worth 200 bucks. I then bring it to another place to get a second opinion; long story short; after spending only $76 dollars, the car is working fantastic again. It turned out to be a thermostat issue. read more

I have to say that even though I've been a regular customer for a while, and will probably continue to be so due to convince, hopefully the reviews will make them change some of their practices. There have been 3 separate instances where I will take my car in for a simple oil change, be informed of other services that need to be performed and "I can't in good conscience take this car off the rack and put it on the road in this condition." Attached with a nice price. I would remain firm and have them give me my car back and continue driving, three times now I've taken it in for a second opinion, the next place I take it to will mention a slight problem and quote the fix for half the amount. But then the next time I take it back to the Firestone of Lisle, I'm given a better price than the second place and well over half the first quote. My take on this is they do good work for your car if you bring it in for exactly what you want done. There have been a few times where I've been given up front and good service with a price so hopefully it is just a matter of a few bad employees. read more

Ugh, I wish my husband had read the reviews before coming here with his Challenger. I noticed one of our wheel skins (like a hubcap) was missing a couple of days after getting new tires put on. I called to ask if they happened to have it and was told I would get a call back from the manager which never happened. Ends up that NOT ONE wheel skin was installed correctly - luckily, we were able to fix them before any more were lost. It's pretty alarming that a company that specializes in TIRES does not know how to do this. This business could care less about its customers. read more

I was told by this rep that they do all the same services as a firestone corporate stores, except that none of them will do a life time alignment because we're in Chicagoland. Well, my mistake was not checking that fact. Chicagoland firestone corporate stores DO lifetime alignments. I paid 100 for a one time alignment when if this guy didn't lie to me I could have gotten more value down the street at a real firestone that does do lifetime for 179. A real service man looks to help and save his customer money not to rip people off. Would go back for a partial refund but I know I'll get nowhere, and his tech actually did a decent alignment. Well, I read amazing things and this was less than a mile away from my apartment but unfortunately my experience was less than stellar. We first came in on Friday around 8:00am to see about getting an oil change. Ken told us that he was short-staffed and wouldn't even have somebody free to start on my car until 10 at the earliest. We decided to come back on Saturday instead. We arrived at 6:50am, the second people in line. Car got checked in, I asked for an approximate time to come back because we're starting a road trip today. Ken said about an hour so we left to grab some coffee. An hour later we came back to find that my car had not even been touched. I asked what was going on and Ken said he was still short staffed and they actually hadn't even started on the oil change for the lady ahead of me. I would have been okay with the delay if he had set the expectation at 7 that his workers may or may not actually show up. As it was, a two minute call to the Oakbrook Terrace Jiffylube later and we were on our way out the door. Ken was nothing but courteous though obviously frustrated with his staff. But I won't be coming back. Ain't nobody got time for that. read more

Today I had a flat tire, I had to have my car towed so bring new to the area I decided to try the Firestone in Lisle. I called ahead and Spoke to I believe the manager Ken prior to calling the tow truck to make sure they could take me and told him we were on our way. The tow truck along with myself arrived. Two cars up on racks no others waiting took me right away! I figured as long as my car was up on the rack I asked Ken to do an oil change. He said he couldn't do it that it would take 45 minutes and I guess they were too busy. Needless to say I am grateful to have gotten my tire fixed and the young man who did the work was great! We had to take a vehicle (Accent) in for repair today, install new battery. When they called that the car was ready, we requested an oil change . When hubby picked up the car he forgot the free oil change coupon. I called to see if they would honor it. They would not. Said that oil change had to be by appt. I asked why the coupon says oil change is 39.99 including 5 quarts of synthetic blend oil and filter and we were charged $65 for this same service. He did not have a good explanation. I knew I needed new brakes and was worried about how much it was going to cost me. I went to two other brake repair shops and got estimates. Each of them had different little issues that they would resolve for an additional cost. My girlfriend recommended I take it to Autofix. And I am so glad I did! Richard, the manager, took very good care of me! Besides needing new brakes, he explained to me the issues with my car that were important and needed attention ASAP and those that could wait. When all was said and done, I saved over $300 by going to Autofix. I highly recommend taking your car to autofix and Duke of oils. I'm a very satisfied customer and I would highly recommend this place to my friends, family and strangers! read more

Manager was asked to check tires, (we do that already),battery, trans fluid, and change oil to synthetic for extra charge on coupon for conventional. He called at 1230 saying the oil changed and everything what was done but then some bull about his guy couldn't get a reading so the battery was bad. I said I'd check to see if it's under warranty. I asked what battery was available.He says champion.i researched and champion was solid brand. I said put it in. He said it would be total of 140. I call around 4 and see he had forgotten to call me but that the car was done. My bill was 196. I asked about the discrepancy. He shrugs and say he gave me a discount. I look at receipt and see they used convential oil, some unknown battery and no notation on the trans fluid. He said it was dry. I told him earlier I'd pay to have it topped off. So I go out and check. Trans fluid dry. FVP battery (local no name brand with no review) Tires low. I guess they think the customer is an idiot. Not any more. read more

Worst experience ever! Went in for a hissing sound in engine. They said I have a bad A/C. Compressor. $1,200. I got the car back and within a few miles the hissing was back. I took it to another mechanic that somebody recommended. Problem turned out to be a bad relay switch. Cost to fix it was only $60. The second mechanic said the A/C compressor was never changed. It was working fine. So firestone charged me for a compressor they NEVER changed. Firestone would not refund my money. They did offer me a discount on my next tire change. What a joke! read more

After waking up on a Sunday morning with a nasty flat tire, I turned to trusty yelp to find out where I can have it repaired. Just tires was going to be it, or so I thought. I roll up and they said they were backed up. A 3 hour wait was not how I wanted to spend my day... So Firestone on Rt 53 it was. I was a bit hesitant because of all the nasty reviews, but I just need a tire patched, not anything major, so I took my chances. I call ahead and checked the wait time, which happened to be none. Score! I also inquired how much to patch a leak... $26 bucks, which happened to be $8 less than the quote from just tires. Score again! When I arrived, I also asked the super helpful service guy, Steve, if they could pull the check engine codes off my car. He said not a prob. Score again. I've been to incompetent Ziegler off Ogden no joke 4x and they 'can't pull the codes, nothing is coming up'. But thats a whole other review that I've been writing for weeks now, those MFers. Ok fast forward 30 mins and my keys are handed back to me, 2 holes are patched (for the price of 1) and $26 bucks later I'm on my way out the do'. For someone that despises dealing with car issues, such as myself, this was a virtually painless experience. Thanks again Steve, you the man. read more

I can't understand any of the negative ratings. I was treated so well by these people. I know anytime we take a car to the mechanic, those of us who are not so mechanically inclined are nervous. I needed new tires and my fog light fixed. I have an older car and I am sure they could have up sold me something. When I asked about my car they told me that they checked out the suspension, the car was totally fine and didn't need anything right away. I got my four tires at an amazing price and they even did an alignment for me. I will be taking my car back for all future needs and would recommend this place to all. Not only did they do a great job with my boyfriends car, they also helped put after I asked a question about my car. There was a piece of plastic hanging after a bad oil change at another place and I wasnt sure if I was damaging my car further. The manager kindly put my car on a lift and fixed it without charging me! While paying for my boyfriends brakes we overheard them talking to a guy who they do free work for randomly because he lives in his car and can't afford to pay. Nice guys! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! Find ANY other location except for here to take your car!!! They are the WORST mechanics around. Have no idea how they stay in business. They cheat and rob their customers. Brought our truck in to get repaired and broke our windows and will not fix them. Our "repaired" back door worked for one day and now is broke again. Tried to work out problem with corporate,,, they are owned by Duke of Oil. Spoke to GM then refereed to Regional manger, neither of the two could come to a resolution of the problem. Their only concern is if we were going to bring the car back to spend more money in their location!!!!!! Corporate is a joke. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION NO MATTER WHAT!! If i could give negative 5 stars I would. Car went into the shop in better condition then when it came out.
