They tried to upsell me. I only wanted a cleaning. I have always gotten dental cleanings every six months. They insisted on x-rays many health issues happened in the past four years to me (including MRIs and other types of x-rays) the surgeon and MD who did surgery on me in Sept 2024 said avoid x-rays until October 2025. I am over 70 and not in great health. However, I have never had a cavity in my Life. My previous doctor, Jack DUNN, is retiring, so I had to find a new dentist covered by Cigna Medicare. Dr. Dunn was wonderful. I saw him for eight years. He never did a single x-ray on me and my teeth have been excellent until chemo. Damaged my health in many ways. I have autism and severe medically induced PTSD (which I noted in my online form). The ptsd is due to doctors misdiagnosing people in my family. My sister died before age 40 because of misdiagnosis. My healthy cousin, a dancer, died before age 50 due to misdiagnosis. A doctor over prescribed seizure medicines for me; so my liver is permanently damaged So going to any doctor, including dentists, puts me into panic attacks I am happy my Cigna rep helped me find another dentist; and was extremely compassionate about my "fight" response to fear When the receptionist kept arguing that I MUST get x-rays, I went into "fight" mode (argued in person/on phone later). My mother is an RN and I grew up being told to ask questions because doctors often make mistake mistakes. After what happened to my cousin, sister and me, I will refuse a treatment that I feel is bad for my health. Healthcare workers need to understand that every patient is different read more

Made an emergency dental appt on Saturday morning for Saturday afternoon with their call center. Showed up for appointment and no one was there. Received a call the next Thursday (4 days later!) from office telling me there was a miscommunication with call center and to call & make an appointment. Call center told me they would make sure the office knew I was coming. read more

Would not recommend this dental office. First they over book and when it's your appointment time you have to wait. I had to reschedule because I waited so long. 3 weeks later I am told they are running behind schedule again. I said I would wait. They brought me back for X-rays then I waited for the cleaning. Finally the lady brought me back for cleaning. There I waited again. When I finally was able to catch sometime in the hallway to remind them I was waiting the hygienist came in. She said she had to meet with a dental rep and she was doing the duties of the doctor the office manager and the hygienist. Then I was billed for service not received. When I asked who I could talk to about the charge I was told no one they are a franchise. Absolutely the worst experience. Will not go back. read more

I just had a kind of an emergency, i called and was scheduled an appointment with Dr. Werner for the next day. I had that appointment today 5/4/23, he was awesome. I have dental/dentist anxiety from past trauma appointments. Dr. Werner was patient and very much a straight shooter with what I need done. I highly recommend him, as well they worked great with my insurance and before anything was done we talked about what things would cost. Office was super nice and clean! read more

(Forgive me I don't remember everyone's names) All these negative reviews. I went today as a new patient and was treated so well. With these reviews I was somewhat hesitant. They have all operations in house now. Orthodontics, implant specialists, and general dentistry. Was treated with MAD respect, everything was thoroughly explained, was able to get a general dentistry consult, an implant consult, had the orthodontist was there today would have gotten that too. Got a general idea of the plan moving forward. Awesome team awesome front desk staff. Everything was explained and they won't do work until you sign on it and understand the price. The front desk lady was super helpful. I have a tight schedule due to working 60-65 hours a week between 2 jobs. But she wanted me to come by to have the price for the next procedure with insurance but I am unable to. That being said we worked something out, to achieve that without being there physically. Was told it's an entirely new team. I believe the only dentist there is named Dr. Werner (forgive me if I'm wrong) fantastic experience, from someone terrified of dentists. Very compassionate crew. Thanks team! read more

I went to Firestone Dental because of my Dental HMO. I did not read any reviews before going, and I am glad I didn't. The majority of the reviews on YELP regarding Firestone Dental are so old. Let me say that as an RN, I have a very critical eye in respect to medical care of ANY kind. The dentist, Dr Alexa Crete, was extremely professional, friendly and explained everything very thoroughly to me. I never had any problem with making an appointment or in respect to the charges or billing. I really believe that she listened and would do anything to make your experience a great one. I am NOT affiliated with this practice at all. Do not read the old reviews. If you are looking for a new dentist, give the practice a call. If the current staff continues to work at this location I will definitely drive the extra distance to go back for care. read more

Firestone Dental made an appt for my sister who is disabled and has CO Health First insurance. After the appt we received a bill for $305. When I called they explained that the processing to accept it was not finished yet. If only I could give zero stars... My wife made an appointment for her "free" cleaning a couple weeks ago. And she left work early to be there, so she missed time and lost pay. The hygienist started doing all kinds of x-rays and other procedures without explaining what she was doing or why she was doing it. My wife doesn't speak great English so she's a little bit shy about speaking up. But she was there for a CLEANING and they wanted to do a plethora of what seemed like completely unnecessary procedures. So she started asking questions. She was only told "this is our process" or words to that effect. Her mistake was that she didn't press for answers enough. After spending OVER AN HOUR at the office, she was given a referral to a different dentist and told that she would have to visit him first. No explanation and her teeth were never cleaned!! Again, she should have pressed for answers more than she did, but Firestone Dental REALLY dropped the ball! They should have explained exactly what they were doing and why. I had to call them to find out what was going on so I could relay the information to my wife. Of course, they made a lame and condescending attempt to justify their rude and unprofessional behavior. Also they sent a bill for what was supposed to be a FREE cleaning!!! After arguing on the phone for fifteen minutes they agreed to forget about the bill. My wife, my kids and I will NEVER do business with these people again. read more

I went to firestone dental to have a tooth pulled, and afterward was really in bad pain. The area around the site stayed red and inflamed. I went back to them, and told them it felt like there were shards of the tooth in there. They literally told me I didn't know what I was talking about! They did nothing to help. For the next three months I lived with the horrible pain. I finally decided to dig into my gums myself to try to relieve the excruciating sensation of pressure building up there. After about a week of digging, I tried a remedy I'd found online. I used a pair of pantyhose and rubbed it over the site and it hooked on something. When I pulled it out, there was this gush of pus and a rush of relief. There was a HUGE shard of tooth that had wedged into the tooth next to the one I had pulled. When all was said and done, I pulled NINE tooth fragments from my gums. Masochist that I am, I went back after that. Tuesday I had an appointment with Dr. Esmaili. I have never had a more unprofessional experience. She refused to replace the filing I came in for. In fact, she refused to do any work at all. Completely unprofessional. She took photos in my mouth despite my asking her not to. Why the heck did she need photos when she wasn't going to do any work on my teeth? When she noticed the tears streaming down my face, she coldly responded "What, am I telling you something you've never heard?". Actually, yes. It was devastating, totally incorrect and uniformed.I was so upset, I ran from the chair, and the office, crying. She couldn't have cared less. I already have a terrible fear of dentists, and this has only made it worse. I will never return to Firestone Dental. I'm afraid I won't be able to make myself walk into another dentist's office any time soon. I tell my friends and all you yelpers to avoid this place at all costs. Go somewhere that treats their patients as human beings. I don't want anyone else to go through what I did. This woman has no business "caring" for patients. Now she has one less. They constantly over bill, max out my dental insurance as fast as they can, and make constant mistakes. I thought I was alone, but reading their reviews here, it sadly appears I am not. Who would go near this place with reviews like this? I wish I could give it no stars. They deserve all the bad press they get. read more

I have a 16 yr old now that had a fear of dentists from the first time she went at 3 years old and now she has had braces and smiles when she goes to the dentist. I also had a mouth gaurd made for my terrible TMJ that didn't seem to fit right and Dr Esmaili made me a completely new one at no cost and adjusted it. I have had some trouble with the billing and it has taken time to sort out but honestly if it were not for Dr Esmaili I would have left. read more

I have no idea why I have went here for over a year. Maybe it was because my insurance covered a lot of the cost, maybe it was because it is close to the house, maybe I'm too loyal or just complacent (until now). They have always been inconsistent with billing by overcharging you (and your insurance) while keeping a big 'credit' on your account, the personnel is always changing so you get to meet plenty of new people, the atmosphere is rough in the individual offices (bad remodeling job?) The last straw was how they now approach you to upsell you and get every penny out of you. Finally I have came to my senses. I am finally done getting ripped off... typical franchise mentality. read more

I had orthodontics at this facility a year ago. I over paid them almost $1000. I have been trying to get my money back from them for 5 months. I have talked with Stephan and Kimberly who both say they will take care of it but I have yet to get MY money back from this business. 1st appointment had 3 fillings completed. Dentist burned tip of my lip with tool he was using during initial exam. I alerted him immediately & the hygienist told the dentist the tool he was using was hot due to just removing from the sterilizer. The burning on my lip eventually supsided in a couple of days. A week or so after my fillings, I felt a hole in one of the teeth he filled. It felt like the filling had fallen out. I immediately called the office & was told there would be no charge to check that particular filling. When I arrived for my 10 AM appointment I wasn't seen until 10:40 AM. The reason I wasn't seen was because they couldn't find my chart due to them misspelling my name but they never told me until I asked why it was taking so long. Once I was seen, I was told my tooth had chipped but the filling was fine. As I was laying back in the chair with my mouth open, the dentist nearly hit me twice in the face as he "waved" his hand over me with whatever tool he was using. I informed the office on each visit of the issues I had encountered but to no satisfaction. My advice is do not use this dentist's office or, if you do, do it at your own risk! read more

Our family has been with Firestone Dental Care for about 6 years and I finally got fed up. Billing issues, poor and unnecessary dentist work, and very rude people. I was only staying because the hygienists there are wonderfully kind and considerate and Dr. Justus that does all of the high end cosmetic work did a fabulous job but the rest of the team over there (dentists, office staff) lots of turn over, sub-par and rude. Stay away from this place. read more

I've been going to Firestone Dental for some years and finally got fed up enough to leave. Here are some of the problems: -Fillings and a chip in my tooth had to be redone 3 times. Not fun. I understand dentistry is not an exact science but I don't enjoy going through shots, drilling and pain more than once plus missing work to come in. -Extra charges/procedures are pushed pretty hard. I was made to watch a video about the oral cancer screening test (that costs extra) then sign multiple pieces of paperwork declining it. Years later and the oral cancer screening has never come up again. I get the impression they were pushing it to make up a few extra dollars that month. Sometimes they push hard for me to get sealants painted on my molars, most of the time they don't mention it. I read that the ADA recommends x-rays every 18 months (not 12) so I declined x-rays on one visit (I did not have insurance at the time and this study came straight from the ADA). There are documented increases of cancers around the neck area that can be attributed to improper protective aprons used by dentists and overuse of x-rays. You would have thought I was leaving a hospital with a gaping wound with all the paperwork I had to sign to refuse x-rays! -Communication is really sparse. Sometimes they call to confirm your appointment, sometimes they don't. When they call they insist you call them back and when you call back you are met with this blank silence on the phone like, "Why are you calling?" Sometimes you'll be sitting in the chair and they just walk in and ask if you have insurance then based on the answer they take x-rays of varying amounts. Sometimes you have one hygienist, sometimes 2. Whatever they feel like doing that day. Treatment plans are a lump sum, no explanation of what is included and what materials are to be used. Options are never discussed. -Billing issues: multiple problems here! My husband and I had the exact same procedures on the exact same day and we were charged different amounts. I called to ask why and they caught their error. No explanation. You always have to ask for an itemized receipt; it is never offered. Whenever I have had to schedule a follow up appointment for fillings, etc. they cheerfully ask if I would like to pay in advance. Nice. Procedures have been incorrectly attributed to my husband vs. myself on records. We have received countless statements showing a zero balance for some reason. Then I received an invoice saying we were turned in for collections. WHAT??? I never pay bills late! I called to see what was going on and the girl who answered the phone found the invoice in question showing paid 2 days before it was due. I asked, "Then why is it showing in collections?" She said it wasn't really in collections. I told her the piece of paper I was holding says otherwise. She had no answer. I told her I was not happy and she said I can call back and talk to the manager. No offer for the manager to call me which is a more appropriate response by all customer service standards. -The last straw was when I was informed I would need a crown on a tooth they had been watching for awhile. Of course they never told me so I did not put money aside in my Flex account to offset the $1200 it would cost. As they handed me my estimate I asked them if this included my insurance (which I have now). They did not have it in the computer despite being told via phone and they were also holding my paperwork from that same morning in which I informed them of my new insurance. The office manager hand wrote me a revised estimate for $740 but I later came to find out that crowns are not covered under my plan for the 1st year (hooray!). This would have been a nice surprise for me when they denied the claim. Luckily my new dentist actually did their homework before giving me a thrown together estimate. The only redeeming quality of this office is the hygienist who usually works on me, Joanie. She is awesome but the rest of the staff is pretty aloof and frankly, uncaring. Moving on. read more

We are switching. We've been there about 5 years. I've had 3-4 different dentists and never got told in advance that I'd have a different one, same thing with hygienists. I didn't want X-rays while pregnant and breastfeeding and was given a really hard time both times, I almost walked out after arguing with them for the majority of my cleaning. Sometimes I've been there two hours for JUST a cleaning. The hygienist I've had the last two times is pretty short and rude. I liked this place when I first started going and it's gone downhill especially in the last couple years. read more

Staff were friendly, but as far as what I had done, couldn't be more unhappy. If you are fitting a new crown, why do you grind a perfectly good in place tooth to make it fit. Told adjustments will be done when x-rays are taken, but instead told I am all done. I had waited a month for the crown which in itself surprised me as the last crown I had done elsewhere, was done in the same day. Have to say, I am not likely to go back even for adjustments, will locate a new dental practice. read more

I recently switched dental plans and now have a PPO. I researched several local dentists "grades" and scheduled my "new patient" appointment with Dr. Shepherd for a cleaning and to have my lower incisors "shaved" down (recently had braces removed and fitted for retainer). I emailed the digital copies of my recent x-rays/bitewings that were taken in May 2013 (barely 6 months ago). I was told to arrive for my appointment at 1:45pm. to fill out paperwork. I arrived several minutes early and the office was locked. I noticed through the window that there was patient information sitting on the desk in plain view. At 2pm. the door was unlocked; when the receptionist asked if I filled out the paperwork I mentioned that I had not and was told to arrive at 1:45 to do so (no response). After paperwork I was led to the back. The assistant made grainy 8.5"x11" black and white copies (printouts) of the digital x-rays and had the teeth blown up to cover the entire page. I was told the copies didn't come out very well so they couldn't tell if there were cavities and they would need to take new x-rays. I explained that they have the digital copies on their email and just needed to transfer them to the screen to see. Several minutes later Dr. Moynier introduced himself. I mentioned that I had made the appointment to see Dr. Shepherd; he stated she does not work on Tuesdays. I asked why I was given an appointment for the dentist I requested if the staff knows she does not work that day (no response). Dr. Moynier then tells me he cannot interpret the x-rays due to the printout and needs to take new ones. When I asked about my bottom teeth ("shaving") he asked who my Orthodontist is and then stated: "You paid your Orthodontist a lot of money, he should do it, I'm not going to do someone else's job for them". He also mentioned the days Dr. Shepherd works and said I can come back one of those days. I said I would not be returning to their office and was given the photocopies; they did say they would not be billing insurance since I did not have anything done. Quite frankly the entire office staff seemed rude and unprofessional (including the dentist). read more

This is the Wal-mart of dentists!!!! I initially liked Dr. Carter who removed all my silver fillings and replaced them with white.....until I realized he didn't remove all the silver filling and now my teeth look Grey which defeats the purpose. I went to complain and oh guess what that dentist is no longer there and they didn't even tell me in advance. The new Indian dentist was RUDE RUDE RUDE. She seemed totally put out when I questioned the prior dentists work and she even agreed it was shoddy work, but offered no resolve. The office manager's response was, "did you ever get that mouth guard the dr. Recommended" HUH??? Im the type of consumer who will not put up a huge stink because I don't have the energy for it, but I am the type of consumer who will never return. The hygienists were nice and I feel sorry for them. It's run like a puppy mill now, you never know what dentist you will get and they can't keep one for any period of time. I've gone to 2 other dentist since and both have been horrified by the work that was done on my mouth. What I've learned is if you can find a non-corporate dentist you are much better off. Dentistry has become a total scam and the corporate side has ruined the industry as far as I'm concerned. I feel like dentists have become used car salesmen and this place is no different. They push services you don't need and act like the sky is falling if you don't agree to it. No thank you Firestone dental. I had been going there for about 4 years until they didn't catch a cavity with my son. We took him off dental insurance because he was so young and it was expensive. I had to take him to a pediatric dentist and it ended up costing me a fortune! I tried talking to the dentist who "signed off" on seeing him even though he ONLY saw a hygenist. I tried to get them to pay 1/2 of the bill and she was so anger at me for "questioning her integrity" that she hung up on me. Very unprofessional! We've already had issues with them trying to charge us more than our insurance covers. The hygenists are nice but they can't keep a dentist there...and for good reason. I wouldn't recommend going there. Our cousins had a similar experience with money issues and unprofessioanlism. They called and questioned them when they took their son for braces somewhere else. read more

I do not recommend Firestone Dental. Made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned and it did not happen. They took xrays then told me I would need to come back. I received an estimate of $1100 to get my teeth cleaned. That is really expensive. My insurance covered a little over half of that. That is still really expensive. They refused to do a regular cleaning which is covered by my insurance. I had a deep cleaning less than two years earlier so more than likely the insurance would not cover doing it again but did not care. Even after telling them this, They would not schedule a regular cleaning. I would not mind paying a little extra to get just the bad pockets cleaned but $1100 is very expensive for a 3 hour cleaning job which has to be done in two appointments. That is over $366 an hour. At that rate it would be over $91 for a 15 minute haircut. They did the same thing to my wife which gets even more expensive. Glad our kids are old enough to pay for there own dental care. The staff seems like they are in a big hurry and just crank you through there system as fast as possible forcing you to come back multiple times for things that could be done when you were there like taking xrays and cleaning your teeth or cleaning teeth in one appointment for the $1100 cleaning. I am glad I found another dentist that could clean my teeth and treat specific problems without an $1100 bill that may not be covered by insurance. It really pays to shop around. read more

We went to Firestone Dental for 10 years and it seems that every 2 years they were getting a new dentist/orthodontist/hygienists. We finally got fed up with the constant changing of staff that we decided to move Dentist. Because there were 3 of us in the middle of Ortho work we had prepaid our treatment. We have been fighting now for 3 months to get our refund back and the Office Manager (who is also new) has still not done anything regarding our account. When I called to speech with her about this I had to leave a message and then she had someone else (also new) in the front call me back and say she is still working on it. I have called every month and keep getting told "oh we are working on it". Kimberly the office manager was supposed to call me back for the past month now...I have been calling several times a week. Been a patient with Firestone Dental Care for 5.5 years now. Have never had a horrible experience. Staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable. Always been treated with respect. Just had my first crown installed as a 40 year old on a front upper tooth...repercussions of a childhood gymnastics injury. Admittedly was nervous and disappointed this would be necessary. Dr. Guillory was patient and personable, understood this was fear and sadness inducing, explained the process, and in so doing helped to ease my concerns. Had 3 different hygienists/dental assistants across this process as the first permanent crown was the wrong color so it had to be sent back, but grateful to have Dr. "G" there each time. I have been a patient at Firestone Dental for about 10 years and I just wanted to take a minute to share the poor customer service experience that I had with Kimberly, one of the front office staff members. I realize that Kimberly is probably working for less than a livable wage, and is tasked with the unpleasant chore of attempting to resolve issues with unhappy customers, but when a customer takes time out of his busy schedule to call an attempt to rectify a problem, that was not his fault to start with, that customer has a certain expectation of speaking to someone that is somewhat polite, and competent. Kimberly is neither. As for the professionals, i.e. the dentists, there assistances, and the hygienist, though they seem to rotate in and out rather quickly, I have always had excellent care. As for KIMBERLY, she could use a Boot Camp class in customer service, or perhaps find employment in an area that she is better suited. Kimberly has cost this dental practice a loyal customer. I have seen four dentists over the past 2 years at this office! Never had trouble with my teeth, but somehow they "found" 5 cavities. A regular cleaning usually takes 45-60min. The 2 areas are overly sensitive now! Never going back! Time to find a good dentist! read more

I wouldn't recommend this dental office to anyone!! I used this dentist b/c it was listed as a covered provider under my insurance.
