They would not talk to me unless I scheduled an appointment for an estimate, which was not the same day. I went back and got an estimate, which took at least 15 minutes. Then they told me that to install it, I'd have to come back A WEEK LATER! The truth is that the simply didn't want my business. It took longer to write up the estimate than to install the door handle. They literally told me that they would not have anyone available FOR 10 MINUTES until Tuesday of next week. I went yo White's and they installed it in less than 5 minutes! Hell will freeze over before I go back to Autobody of Wilson. No, the job I had was not worth thousands but one day I may have a bigger job and my business will go somewhere else.

Brian and Sharon are easy to deal with. Some people think their prices are a little high, I say it's worth every penny. I don't like being given a load of crap to make the shop money, and they won't do that. Don't take your investment to a basic mechanic to have them do something they don't specialize in. Williamson Auto specializes in fixing your car the right way and more! They do honest work, and what their estimates say needs to be done, that's it. Brian, the mechanic, knows what he is doing. One of the few shops around that will give you an estimate and stick to it. If he says something needs to be fixed, then it does. And same goes for if he says it doesn't yet need work, then he leaves you with the option of repairing something and paying for something that didn't really need to be done. There are no corporate mouths to feed, no CEOs, and no stockholders setting the prices. Keep your business in this small, homegrown, experienced shop, and you will not be disappointed. That makes no sense--if the pulley caused the water pump failure, it should be part of the same repair, not a separate uncovered item. I even had to buy the pulley myself and install it on my own. On top of that, I'm having transmission problems that are covered under warranty, yet they tried to charge me $200 for a transmission flush just to diagnose it. Charging a customer to diagnose something that's under warranty is unreasonable. I was also charged sales tax on warranty work and an additional $40 for shop supplies, which raises even more concerns. Overall, this experience felt misleading and unprofessional. I would strongly recommend others ask detailed questions and review their invoices carefully before agreeing to any service here.

One of the employees came up to me and stated for me to follow him to the customer lounge. I stated that I would watch during the inspection. At that point he became irritated. (I never allow anyone to service or touch any vehicle I own because I am a retired engineer with extreme vehicle knowledge.) I noted that they started my vehicle, pulled the vehicle in and allowed the vehicle to continuously idle for more than 5 minutes while they inspected the vehicle. When I asked why they continuously allowed the vehicle to idle one employee stated that the inspection required that. I asked to see the specification requirement. That employee then stated that he could not because he was not an inspector. I asked to speak with the manager, stated the same question. The manager then pulled my vehicle out of the shop and stated that they were refusing service, after they had already performed the inspection. During my wait and visit I observed fluid handling on other vehicles that introduced contamination into the fluids being handled. This shop should be investigated by the State of North Carolina DMV, NHTSA, and ASE officials.
