My 21 year old daughter recently brought her 2021 Mazda CX-3 to the local Firestone at 2001 State Route 35 in Wall for an oil change and tire rotation. At the time of the service, her battery was found to have failed the battery test and she received a call stating that the battery was "about to die" and needed to be replaced. She gave the approval for the battery replacement and was charged $195.99 for the battery plus $20.00 for installation. When she advised me about this, I immediately realized that the vehicle is only two years old with low mileage (19,968). I asked her if Firestone informed her that this battery likely would have been under warranty and she stated they had not. Because she is young, she did not realize that many of the parts may still be under warranty and would have been replaced for free by the dealer. I contacted Mazda to confirm the expiration date on the battery warranty (August of 2024) and the confirmed that they would have replaced it for free under warranty. I went to the Wall Township Firestone and asked to speak with a manager. I spoke with the service manager who stated that it was not the responsibility of Firestone to inform the customer that the battery may be under warranty. I stated to him that as a long-time business in the community, I would expect the business to be run with more integrity. Not informing a young person who potentially would have been a customer for many years that she could have saved over $200 ( a lot of money for a young person) was unkind and disingenuous. The manager seemed to have some compassion towards the situation and stated that he himself would have informed my daughter that the battery was likely under warranty. He also stated that the service advisor who had called my daughter has been a "thorn in my side" however he was unable to provide any remedy as the corporate office would not allow this at the local level. When the service manager presented me with the battery test print-out, under the section labeled technician, the name "Santas Little Helper" was typed in, appearing to make a mockery of the responsibility of caring for a customer's vehicle. I find this to be an egregious way to run a business in which customers are dependent upon the honesty and reputation of the business to guide them in making decisions about a topic in which they may have little knowledge. I know that I and my family members will never be gong back to the Firestone location in Wall Township. I hope you will take this situation into consideration when bringing your vehicle to the Wall Township Firestone location. read more

My husband didn't have high expectations when he showed up without an appointment about 90 minutes before closing time. We were happily shocked to have our issue addressed and have it be resolved with just a patch! We got on the road the next day on schedule and made it home without an issue. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! I dropped off my truck to get an oil change, tires rotated, a slow leak on the passenger-rear tire addressed, and the front skid plate secured. They never rotated the tires, never addressed the slow leak, cut into the skidplate/cross member to remove a stuck bolt and only placed 2 of 6 bolts into the skidplate and then lied about it when confronted! read more

They are not even capable of oil changes and tire rotations...brought in my first car for a synthetic oil change and tire rotation, they used a synthetic Blend and never rotated the tires. Brought in my second car the next day for the same service and again no tire rotation and the oil was a quart low with my tire pressure light on. If you cannot get the simple things right you cannot be trusted with complex repairs. They shouldn't be in the business. read more

I'm absolutely blown away by the customer service and honesty at this Firestone! I always buy tires from them since they come with a warranty. I've been having issues with one of my tires and took it there yesterday to be checked. They had no problem looking at it, however they were super busy, so I would have to wait a while. The person at the desk had me pull my car around and checked all of my tires, put air in 2 of them and reset my light for me. I went back today and was in and out quickly, free of charge The guys here are phenomenal and I will definitely be returning for my future car needs! read more

I've had a great first experience with this Firestone and I am totally happy with it! From the professional gentleman that wrote up my paperwork at the computer in the front room to the mechanic that worked on my brakes that was willing to show me what the problem literally was (I asked for them to do this and mechanics often don't do this but Firestone did!). Firestone nearly killed me after getting my brakes done today. Today I paid $440 for a complete brake job on my 97 Jeep Wrangler. When I picked it up at 5pm I drove home on slow side streets at 25 MPH. However, tonight on my way to dinner driving on a major highway at 60 MPH I put my foot on the brake and the whole jeep swerved into oncoming traffic and then off the road into the dirt!! OMG it was terrifying. God forbid my wife were driving it could have been a horrible accident. In addition, when they were cleaning back brakes they sprayed some white guck on my back left rim that will not wash off. The rim is ruined. WTF Firerstone! Very disappointed with their service! Big isn't always Best!! I had a flat late at night with my old Jeep Wrangler and had AAA come out and put the spare on for me. The next day, I drove to Firestone in Wall NJ to see if they could fix the leak or replace the tire. I deliberately chose a major tire company and fully expected them to be able change the tire in short order and I would be on my way. I remember that Harvey Firestone, Henry Ford and Thomas Edison were good friends and good solid American companies. I knew that Firestone had some quality problems back in the 1970s but I was shocked to learn that they were sold to the Japanese Bridgestone company in 1988. I do like to support American companies whenever possible. I was surprised when they told me that the tire had enough wear that they recommended replacing the tire instead of fixing the leak. They told me that they were extremely busy but I could leave the spare there and they could mount it the next day. I knew they were open late and it was the middle of the day and putting on a new tire did not take a lot of time. I let them know that I was recovering from major surgery and couldn't lift anything more than 10 pounds. I made an appointment to return the next day. I was late for the appointment for the next day because my daughter had become ill and had to be taken to the doctor. I did call and let them know I would be delayed. When I finally did arrive they again said they would have to do it on the next day even though they were open to 7 PM. I tried to make the appointment at that time but they told me to call the next day and they would see if they could fit me in. I asked if they could at least put the spare tire back on the back of the Jeep which they did. I decided that I wasted enough of my time and I would seek out another auto repair shop to complete the job. My expectation was based upon my experience dealing with other major tire distributers. Sears had always saved the day for us when we needed tires in a hurry. I had always been able to drive in and get a set of tires within two hours. Firestone did share with me that two employees had called out. Everyone can have a bad day and they just didn't seem eager for my business. I had always dealt with small private family owned auto repair shops. I guess I have always been spoiled with really good service from the "little guy." I hope this helps! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO DRIVE AWAY!!! This Firestone is a cars death sentence. I took my wife's car in for a simple oil change. They called the next day and said it was ready. I go there to pick it up and after I paid it wouldn't start. I go back inside tell them it wont start. The a young mechanic out with a jump starter thinking it was the battery that does nothing. He comes out with a code reader and it gives him nothing, a second mechanic comes out checks the spark plugs and they are fine he says its the fuel pump. I tell them ok can it get fixed tomorrow? They say yes so the next day they call and tell me it wasn't the fuel pump but the air intake came off and it was getting air into the engine not sure how it would have came off because it is no wear close to the oil dip stick or where the oil filter is. I go to pick it up and same thing the car wouldn't start when I got there. After that they tell me its the fuel pump so they order the fuel pump that day and I pick it up the next day. After I pick it up and seems to be driving around fine and we run a few errands and when we leave our last stop to start to head home we hear a pop and start to smell the faint smell of gas. Think it was another car we start to head home as we are on our way I notice the smell isnt going away. That is when my wife says the gas light just came on. I tell her we are leaking gas and start to head back to firestone. We get to the intersection of 18th ave and 35 and the car dies. We get it restarted and I tell her to pull in to the closest park lot and then it dies again in the middle of 35 with cars on both side going about 40mph+ and the car wont start again. I get out when it is clean and go to the front of the car and look under and I can see the stream of gas pouring out and running down the highway. We call the police and luckly a good samaritan helps me push the car into the parking lot and we take an uber home. The next day when Firestone opens I call and tell them what happened and they said to bring the car in and they will see what happened. I tell them they are going to have to tow it from where it is because all the gas is out of it and it is stranded there. The next day they call and tell us that it was a cracked fuel pump and that is why gas was pouring out. I know that the fuel pump is actually inside the gas tank so I am kind of calling BS on that. They change out the fuel pump I go to pick up the car and it still isn't running properly I take it back and they change the fuel injector and lines. After a few day of them doing that I pick it up and start to drive it home and the check engine light comes on which had never been on since I have had the car. I take it back and tell them what happened. The following day they call and say that it was a cable that had disconnected and they put it back on. We go to pick up the car and I tell my wife I'm going to drive it around and then take it home. As I am driving it around I make a turn and the check engine light comes on again. I immediately call firestone and speak with Ed head manager and he says that they have that they have done everything they can to the car and that it is not something they want to continue with. REALLY??? your team is the ones who screwed up the car in the first place. From the time that I took the car in for an oil change to the time that the check engine light came on it was 20+ days and we had the car in our possession for maybe 3 of the day. My wife had such bad anxiety after getting stranded with the gas fumes and gas pouring out of the car that she couldn't even get into the car after that. We ended up having to sell the car because it wouldn't be able to pass inspection with the check engine light on. Moral of the story if you value you car or rely on your car for work DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! read more

Beware! They use old tires. They sold me a tire that was well over 2 years old. Check the 4 digit number on the tire they put on your car. The 4 digits are the week and year the tire was made. Rubber degrades over time, even if not in use. read more

PROS: I've frequented Firestone for tires, fluid changes and minor repairs on my van and pick-up. If you need your vehicle serviced and wear items replaced such as brakes, exhaust, batteries, Firestone does a nice job and is very professional. I find their mechanics to be very competent and careful when servicing your vehicle. CONS: Because they are an independent repair shop, their prices on certain repairs can sometimes exceed that of the dealer especially with the mark-up on parts. I was quoted over $1,000 to replace upper & lower ball joints on my Ford van. Surprisingly, I saved almost $300 going to Sea Breeze Ford. I also think that adding a $9.00 fee for "shop supplies" is totally unnecessary and should be included in the "cost of doing business." Unless an unusual amount of lubricants, chemicals, fasteners, etc... are required to complete a job, this fee should be eliminated. 3.5 out of 5 stars. read more

My local mechanic said my vehicle needed an alignment. He explained all the connections and bearings were OK -- just an alignment. Took it to Wall Firestone and explained I only wanted the alignment and all bearings and connections were tight. Sure enough they called back and said I needed new bearings. I asked them to pull the car out of the bay and not to touch it. To top it off, someone from Firestone's regional office called me a suggested I bring the car back so he could check the bearings. Instead of directing me to the correct store, the salesman aggressively tried to sell me more expensive tires even after I explained that I had tires on order from the other store. Some folks may admire the ' anything for a sale' attitude but I find it unethical and I will never set foot in this store again. read more

I've used this Firestone facility for routine maintenance for many years and currently have them service both my 2010 and 2015 Highlander Recently, on the former, the engine service and traction control warning lights came on for several trips, before going off. They were able to read the codes and informed that the engine drive chain, if it persisted, wasn't something they could service (dealer or engine repair facility required) and reduced the diagnostic charge from $100 to $57 after spending 90 minutes, including a road test, to service the car. Had I gone to the dealer I'm know the cost would have been much more and no doubt they would have recommended a very expensive drive chain replacement. Another time, the discovered that my flood lights cable wasn't connected, either a dealer or factory assembly error, and connected it at no charge. The dealer heard the problem and special ordered replacement bulbs, an order I cancelled. Finally, they always rotate my original (Toyota-supplied) Bridgestone or Firestone tires at no charge, which isn't expected other than to help insure I buy my replacement tires from them and shortly I will. I've always had a great experience with this facility. The communicate well and their pricing is very reasonable. I'm reluctant to give 5 stars to any auto facility, but my experience justifies it. read more

I have went to this place multiple times for the convenience of an Oil change and tires and that was not bad if you could get passed the harassing sales guy trying to push you into all the extras that are most likely not necessary. I understand the thought of add on sales but don't be pushy with it. A mere suggestion would be much appreciated. I had a problem with brakes though. They gave me a quote of about $400 then tried to up it to almost $900 after they had it apart to see if I would take the bait. I told them to put it back together and I had it fixed elsewhere for half the price. I hope they don't do this to people and get away with it everyday. It is unethical behavior. When I called the salesman out on the phone about it they became very hostile and argumentative. I will not be returning and hope that someone can go in one day and clean this place out of unethical workers. I don't know if they are all like that but some are. im a 60 year old male who knows my way around cars.i went in for a front end alignment.they told me I had a bad upper ball joint,he showed me the bad one.ok cant do the alignment till that's fixed,then he says my wheel bearings need repacking,i asked how do you know,he said the wheel was loose,right then I knew he was full of shit.they gave mean estimate of 190.00 to repack the bearings which takes 10 minutes and a spoon full of grease.they wanted 669.00 to replace the ball joint I boughtit for 17.00 anddid it myself and no the bearings did not need greaseing.this is robbery plain and simple!!!!! I told my wife all this and she said she wouldn't know the differences and would be scared into getting it done..imshure this a company policy this should be avoided read more
