My coworker took her car into this shop on Thursday, November 13th to have her brakes and rotors replaced. She made it to the O'Reilly parking lot and her car was violently shaking as she hit her brakes. She went back and because she declined having her wheel bearing replaced they said it was her fault and hit her with the phrase, "That's what happens when you put new parts on old parts" and turned her away. She had to contact corporate and they also mentioned she declined the bearing which had nothing to do with how her brakes were behaving. I replaced her brakes for her this morning. I recorded the repair along with the test drive and the car stops perfectly now. No violent shaking and stops with ease. Rather than wasting your time and money here, go to Garrigan's Auto Repair Shop. Both their Speedway location and Golflinks location provide excellent service the first time around without price gouging you. I go there for any repairs I don't feel like doing myself and they've never let me down in the many years I've been going there. I should never have to correct the mistakes of a shop and it's pathetic it came to that. read more

I took my 03 Baja in to check to see if I had a fuel leak since it was getting terrible gas milage. I had made an appointment for 9am but got there early thinking they might get it in sooner. They were busy so I understood when they couldn't. The mechanic checked and said there was no fuel leak which was a good thing. I had paid for their $9.99 "Car Care Package" so when it was still up on the lift I asked to include an oil change, which they did for $69.98. After they finished the "Car Care Package" which they told me checks all the undercarriage, airing up the tires, tire rotation, battery check, antifreeze check as well as other things that were checked. I was given a grocery list of things that they said needed to be done: Replace battery (battery isn't even a year old) Everything under the vehicle needed to be replaced (struts, cv boots, bushings, shocks, alignment (was done in Idaho 6 months ago). After they finished doing the oil change I remembered that, for some reason, my Baja doesn't get good gas milage when it needs an oil change and it did solve that problem. I paid the $81 bill and left there a very unhappy customer. As I'm driving back home I notice noises, like somethings loose, coming from the back of my Baja. As if they loosened a few things? I had used the Firestone in Bellingham, WA and never had any problems with their service, which is why I took my vehicle to Firestone in the first place. They tried to pretend they have some amazing deal for tires by saying they do ONE tire for $190 and TWO tires for $205. Most other places do ONE tire for $90-$120. I don't know who they think they're fooling but there is no deal there They are open on Sundays unlike the majority of other tire shops. But for double the price you might as well wait one more day. He told my son..."you don't have to wear a mask to be an asshole" My son is fully vaccinated but out of courtesy to others he wears a mask in public areas. He asked for the guys name, guess what? Not too bad of an experience. Fair customer service. Got charged $126 to $100"after discount" for full synthetic oil. I thought it would be much cheaper from what i searched online on firestone website. I wanted someone to just take a look at the coolant leak. I didn't know if it was normal. Was denied for that, and it wasn't mentioned in the report either. Was told that I need to pay $50 for pressure inspection to recognise the problem even though i just wanted someone to give me any feedback because the leak is right there on the tube. Not too friendly I would say. Wasn't too busy of a time either. Got it done in 45minutes as mentioned. Fair treatment but overall wouldn't recommend. read more

Took my car in for an oil change which I thought went well but will get to that. On my summary papers it stated my battery needed to be replaced immediately and my car was completely out of coolant. These items weren't discussed with me when I paid and left, and I didn't notice it until I got home. Called Firestone about it and the encounter was very rude and disappointing as the tech told me they have no responsibility to mention it. I took my car to the dealership for a second opinion where my battery tested completely fine and my coolant was full. However at the dealership the found the oil filter was never secured from my oil change and was leaking oil throughout my car. Thank god the dealership caught Firestone's error or I would have had a big issue on an upcoming road trip. Extremely disappointed in the lack of care Firestone provided. read more

Unfortunate car problems right at this intersection led me to pull into their parking, as that was really as far as I could go. As soon as I walked in, Tony helped to put me at ease. I was a mess, this wasn't part of my day's plan, I had 3 kids with me and I didn't think I'd make it past the intersection without getting hit. He was kind and compassionate to our situation and so nice to my kids! I ended up towing my car, since I don't live in this area. If I did, I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car here. Even after me telling him I would be towing my car and therefore not be using their shop, he offered to keep an eye on my car until the tow truck showed up. My pregnant sister took her truck there to have the A.C. checked as they said they can fix it. They gave my sister a list of parts that need to be replaced and a $720 estimate. She called my husband and he told her to go to a well known auto place that specializes in A.C. When she took her truck there the guys said that the parts that Firestone noted needed to be replaced do NOT need to be replaced. They also told my sister that the guys at Firestone must of emptied out her freon. She only spent $200 to get her A.C. fixed. Firestone on 1st needs to be investigated. This location deserves 10+ stars. My car broke down randomly and I start my job tomorrow up in Phoenix. I was freaking out about what to do and how I was going to make it. I came in (embarrassingly frantic) on a Sunday afternoon and Jesus had mentioned that they are very understaffed and pretty booked. Even though this was the case, Jesus still offered to help me with this issue. Jesus has been nothing but amazing and SOOOO HELPFUL towards me and other customers coming through. He is completely accommodating towards everyone and was very understanding and helpful when I came in all frantic. Jesus and the rest of the Firestone crew (there were only 2 technicians working besides Jesus) are very respectful and accommodating to all in person customers and over the phone as well. These workers here are what makes this location amazing, especially because they do so much at once to try to help get everyone out as soon as possible. Extraordinary customer service! The crew at this Firestone almost save my life! My car broke down on I-10 in Benson AZ due to overheating on a Saturday. I had to tow my car to Tucson to get it fixed as everything was closed in Benson. I decided to tow it to a Firestone b/c they were the only one that closes late. There are three Firestones in Tucson. After calling all of them, I decided to tow my car to this particular location b/c the lady on the phone was super helpful and promised to have my car checked right away. My tow truck arrived at 3:30pm and they were able to do the diagnostic shortly after. It turned out the radiator cracked. It was deff not cheap to replace it but I didn't have any other choice as I was on the road moving from Florida to California. Ashley was very kind to offer me a student discount for my diagnostic then another $100 off for repair. Two mechanics worked on my car diligently for two full hours. When they were closing at 6pm, I was really worried that they would not be able to fix it the same day. After learning about my situation, Ashley informed me that the crew would stay late to finish the job so I could get back on the road and head to Phoenix where I made a hotel reservation previously. So they closed the shop and continued to work on my car. While I was waiting, Ashley even offered me a cold soda! Talk about top notch customer service!! Finally the young men finished the job at 7pm then took my car for a test drive to ensure it would run well. When it was time to pay, Ashley tried to help me save and recommended applying a Firestone credit card so I could get another 10% off which I did. The crew at this Firestone went above and beyond to take care of me. I couldn't even believe it when I was back on the road 3 hours after my car was towed here. Be careful going to this firestone location... I took my Kia Soul in for a checkup because I kept hearing a thumping noise and they told me it was because my front bushings were damaged and I needed the entire subframe of my car replaced which would cost me about $1000. I went to the Kia Dealership in Tucson to get a second opinion and they tell me that there is nothing wrong with my car and my front bushings are completely fine. I would definitely get a second opinion on your vehicle before allowing them to do any work. Not to mention they do not enforce their "mandatory" mask requirement because both times I went to this location there were people all over the place not wearing any masks. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could as giving one implies there was something positive. My car battery completely died on Wednesday. I had just had it replaced at the Firestone on Oracle in January, so I was already frustrated. I had my car towed to this location as it was much closer to where I was working. They replaced the battery under warranty, but told me the alternator was shot so I would have to replace that. Quoted me at almost $1100 so I said I would have to wait a couple days to move some money around. The guy there, I think his name was Phil, told me he would 'be surprised if the battery made it through the day' and that it could 'die at any point.' I drove home and stopped at an auto parts store to see what the cost of the parts would be as I have friends who are mechanics and the quoted price seemed really high. The $584 alternator they quoted me for I got for $180. The $75 serpentine belt I got for $25. This is where it gets really aggravating. I got home, popped my hood, and found a battery that was designed to fail. The negative cable connection that had been covered in corrosion had not been replaced AND the negative post on the brand new battery I just paid them to install was ground down to the point that I was able to just pull the cable off without loosening it at all. I had my 4 year old daughter with me and these slimy scammers INTENTIONALLY set me up to fail. With a connection that loose, I could have lost power at any time. Consider if I had lost power driving 50 miles an hour up First Ave with my daughter in the car?? You guys are disgusting and should be so ashamed of yourselves. I will be contacting whoever I need to and Firestone has lost my business for the rest of my life. They were the only place in town that had the tires I needed and they got me in and out right away. Unfortunately, they left me with low and uneven tires. I called the next day to ask about my light being on and they told me to go somewhere else to reset the fuse. I could tell my tires weren't right but I just waited and the mechanic confirmed the tires where uneven at my next service. Firestone also recommended a bunch of unnecessary diagnostics for me to pay for when others do the same for free. I have also been here for a free repair and they turned me away, I got the repair at another location instead for $15. read more

I walked in on a Friday and the guy at the front desk said they were too busy for that day so we set up an appointment on the following Monday. So I came in on Monday and a different guy told me that they could not do it because my work van was too heavy and needed to be emptied. I told him I come here all the times for years for my work van and I have never been told this. They guy starts to yell at me and says it policy. I used to go here as the former guy running it was top notch. A few months ago I brought my car in because my brakes would intermittently squeak. They told me my brakes were worn down and I needed new pads, etc. They charged me so much when I came to pick it up. The squeaking was worst! I brought it back a couple days later. They said they drove it around and didn't hear anything. I picked it up, literally drove 4 blocks to work (another reason I used this business) and when I pulled in it squeaked so loud my co-workers heard it inside the building!!!! I usually go to a different Firestone that's kind of tucked away and pretty quiet. I went to this one because it was the only one that had an appointment early in the morning. Nonetheless, I was happy with the service they provide and even happier that they provided a 15% discount to me because I drive with Uber. To their credit, they explained that I did not need the new tire rim I thought I needed. I would never have known that if they didn't tell me, so kudos for that. On the negative side, the estimate that they gave me over the phone for tires and installation was misleading. They said $20 to install -- they meant each. Their estimate did not include several other fees, such as warranty and road repair. These were tacked on, so my bill was about $50 more than I expected. However, the bigger deal for me was that when I left there, I had a broken wheel axle. Was it broken before or during? I went ahead and brought in one of my wheels that was leaking from the bead. The guy at the front desk just grabbed the air compressor and put air in the tire and said it was bent because of it. I knew that this wasn't right and thought it wasn't worth the confrontation. They did not put any effort in to even take a look at it. It's pretty hard to tell of a bent wheel without even giving a proper view. I went ahead and took it into a different shop and they inspected it saying that the tire and wheel was fine as they were able to just re sat the tire on the bead. This is my first experience with this Firestone location, but I will definitely not go back. If you do plan on going in go ahead and double check their information. read more

Incompetence and dishonesty. After an eventful weekend driving up a flowing river and numerous old jeep trails, I needed a bit of work done on the truck. Two tires were leaking air and the pipe which connected the water hose to the radiator had broken free. I only visited Firestone as the original tires had been purchased at one of their stores back east less than a year ago. An expensive, rugged model. I was informed that I had to pay(!) for a patch, and later told that both tires would have to be replaced completely. I asked if a better price might be possible. It was then that I was informed there would be a $50 charge to have the tires shipped to their store in less than two weeks. I was offered a 10% discount on the price of the tires, which resulted in a $20 net increase for the services offered. I was informed by the staff that it was time for a serpentine belt change and brake system flush. Each of these services had been performed in the past six months. As for the radiator, their inspection did not reveal a problem! I am not a technically minded individual and I discovered the problem in less than 60 seconds of popping the hood! Life in Tucson has relegated me to regular encounters with the incompetent, but this experience had brought my expectations for service to a new low. For the second time in a row, this Firestone location failed. The first time, the manager failed to call me back and it took a negative Yelp review before I finally was contacted. This time, I setup an appointment for a quick oil change and tire rotation. I was told it would be about 60 minutes to complete. After 90 minutes, I inquired about the status and was told they had not even pulled the vehicle in yet. I asked for my key and was allowed to walk out the door without so much as an apology. I forgave the first offense and gave this facility a second chance. There will not be a third opportunity. Strange a company in a city with hundreds of mechanics to choose from would allow for such poor customer service. read more

This review is for a purchase of a set of four new tires. I have a great mechanic (see Wood-Oberholzer review), so I haven't utilized Firestone Auto Service, although they automatically did a complimentary check-up with my tire purchases. I'd purchased my last set of tires from this Firestone 4 years ago and remembered it had been a good experience. This experience was better even. Typically, most retail is slowest on Wednesdays, so I arrived when they opened (7:15 am). Christian assisted me with my options after I spoke to him about our driving needs (5,000 city, not highway, miles/year) and budget ($500). He made two recommendations, and of course, I chose the least expensive, declining Roadside Service (we have AAA). He quoted me a completion time of approximately 8:30 and an out the door price of $385 for the tires (215/65R16, if you must know). Their rest room is clean, and the waiting area is pleasant with decent magazines (current: ESPN, AZ Highways, etc.). Fry's Food Store is across the street, and McDonald's is next door. My name was called at about 8:35, I paid after he advised me the results of our car's exam and was out the door by 8:45. I'd researched other tire stores and pricing on-line, so I felt good about this experience. It definitely exceeded my expectations. read more

Manager Jon Swafford offered me excellent customer service, and technician Cody fixed my loose wheel well in jiffy, allowing me to take a planned day trip down to Bisbee. I used to go there a lot more, but now I have Maintenance For Life with my new-ish Mazda. But whenever I'm in a pinch, I know I can stop by and they'll do what they can to help. Bought 4 tires from them, good price, went smoothly. Price was exactly as quoted. I needed new tires on my 4Runner, and found the Firestone Destination A/T tires to be rated the best for the price. Firestone had the best price in Tucson, so I went with them. Tires were installed, everything went well. Loving the tires themselves. Juan (sales associate at the store) was helpful. As other reviews have said, really outstanding service. My car was dead and I couldn't jump-start it so I used my GEICO Roadside Assistance to tow it to this Firestone, mainly because of the good reviews. They were able to take care of me right away and said it would be ~20 min for the battery test (which is free) and replacement. They also said they might want to do an additional test to test the starter and electrical systems, which would cost $25. But the man helping me (Christian) said he would ask me before doing that test so I could see if I wanted to do it. It turned out that I had to wait for ~50 min because they were very busy. Christian called me over and said they had replaced my battery and done the additional test on my starter and electrical free of charge to make sure things were working. They also did a complimentary inspection and topped off my wiper fluids, etc. He took the time to go over the results and was very patient. I really appreciated this as well as the complimentary additional testing to make up for the wait time. Very solid customer service. Perhaps this was a particularly busy time (Wednesday morning) but it would probably help for them to have 1-2 additional staff members to field both the incoming phone calls and in-person customers. But they may just be limited by the number of mechanics / tools in the shop. Overall great experience and I'll definitely be coming again. Pro tip: If you're doing a battery replacement, go to their website, look up the internet prices for your car, and email yourself a quote. They will honor the internet price if you can pull up the email. I saved ~$30 that way. They also provide student discounts on non-sale items. read more

I don't think they actually changed my oil like they said they did. I took it in, paid about $60 for a synthetic oil change for my car and when I got home the oil light stayed on. I called and they told me they must've forgot to reset the sensor and that it is no big deal, that I could bring it in and they could easily just turn it off. I said it was fine and I didn't want to bother them anymore than I needed to. I wasn't scheduled to go back in for another 6 months (my usual is a 3 month interval with them). About 2-3 months later, i check my oil (I routinely fill my car up/check on all its oils) and it was ridiculously low, like how was my engine even functioning anymore low. It was low enough for me to believe they didn't even touch my car. I love Firestone and I've been going there since I moved to Tucson but this was a major scare away. read more

These people destroyed the motor on my GMC Yukon ! They caused $6500.00 worth of damage on an unauthorized test drive. If the technician was involved in a collision . They would be liable for damages. If my truck was in their shop and the shop caught fire. They would be liable for damages. The same doctrine should apply in my case. At every level. (The shop, regional corporate headquarters and their insurance company. I have encountered nothing but bullying, rudeness , denial incompetence and downright LIES ! They refuse to pay for the damage caused by their employee on the unauthorized test drive. Do not let them touch your vehicle! I took my car here to have a nut tightened on my back driver side shocks, (specifically) because i was leaving for LA in a few days, also i wanted them to go through the suspension to make sure everything was good, i had just upgraded my shocks to bilstein coil overs but i couldn't get at this one but, anyway they told me i needed a new swing arm so i got that $ 450.00 and everything else was good my brakes my suspension my alignment, they did an alignment because of the part that they replaced, so now i'm on my way to LA i can hear clanging in the back driver side, the nut had never been touched, when i hit 65 miles an hour my front end starts to vibrate because the alignment isn't even near right, i drive a bmw 550i so the only thing these guys did was put a swing arm on and tell me it's done. I will never take another car here again, as far as i'm concerned they put me in a dangerous situation that had to be fixed by another auto repair place on the way to LA. And this is the first bad review i have ever written, only because it is a safety concern read more

Always get good service here. I have purchased my last 4 sets of tires here at good prices. Have taken advantage of tire warranty several times with no problems. They rotate my tires and fix flats free when you purchase the road hazard warranty, good deal. I went in today to get tires rotated and brakes checked cause I figured they were due to be done but they told me, naw, your brakes still have some months to go before they need service. They could have told me they were in need of replace but they didn't, they were very honest. I would judge the other neg reviews with a grain of salt, they don't hold water, believe me if there was any issues I wouldn't be coming here. I love this place. read more
