place is good for overpriced tires that's about it , took my Jeep in to have the shocks and struts inspected before a long drive - they called and priced me out for brakes and shocks/struts for $2000 went to go pickup the car and they hadn't even looked at the vehicle - said they'd give me an emailed description; never got it as expected... took it to a small shop in Riverview , they replaced a wheel joint for $250 and car was like new .. said nothing was wrong with brakes or shocks/struts at all .. either complete morons or scam artists . Won't be back again . Shame considering I live around the corner , will drive 30 min to stay away from this place. Find anywhere else for repairs . read more

The one that just looked at mine showed me where they'd put my (not large enough for my vehicle) Power Steering Column on WITH A ZIP TIE. Discount Tire checked my slow leak and gave me a quote for a $135 rim and told me it wasn't worth the expense of getting it cleaned up and sealed (my suggestion). The next day I went to this Firestone and they cleaned up my rim and put sealant on it, found the source of a rattle I've been ignoring for months and fixed it, and Jay the tire sales manager even offered to change my headlight bulb for me. Very inexpensive. Then he topped off my window washer fluid even though I said I had some in the back of my car just for the heck of it. He went over and above to make my day better. Plus, my husband paid for some repairs and they print up a list of recommended services. Despite other reviewers feeling pressured, I felt like it was an extremely reasonable way to advertise their business WITHOUT any pressure. "Hey, by the way, you might want to think about getting these services done, and this is what we charge for them in case you want to get them done here." I can see why people might think they are being fed misinformation but there's no harm in a quote and you can always get a consultation somewhere else to double check the recommendation. I don't see what the problem is there. The employees there have a pretty constant stream of business whether you buy into their recommendations or not. They don't care if you choose them!! Scheduled online. Took my car here for an oil change, tire rotation and complete vehicle inspection. Very great experience. They explained the whole process to me and what they were going to do. I also got a time frame (2 hours) of when I should hear back. Sure enough I got a call back of what they found and what they were going to do. Very honest mechanics here and suggest you come in. This place consistently hires the most incompetent people. I could have gotten myself killed this week because they put the wrong hose on the car. It was serviced a week ago and then had been leaking break fluid all week. It hit a point yesterday where I thought I almost wouldn't be able to drive it home. They gave my dad a bunch of bs today until he kept telling them that their explanations didnt sound right, until they finally said that they may have put on the wrong size hose and apologized. How lazy and careless. Look up the right info for that car and do it right before you kill someone The last time I drove my car home we asked them to put the 2 new tires on the front, as is standard. They put them on the back and tried to make excuses about why and how thats the way they do it. I was leaving that day to drive across the country and had no time to let these incompetents fix it. As typical Firestone stores go, they try to up-sell and recommend every possible service and repair for your car, even if you know the repairs aren't necessary. I came here once, as opposed to the one in Woodhaven where I usually go, to get a $9.99 complete vehicle inspection and oil change on my wife's car. The brakes were messed up, and I wanted to know exactly what was wrong. It was the dead of winter, so I certainly wasn't going to sit outside and check them myself. The inspection took about an hour. When the guy came to tell me what was wrong, I thought he would say it was the rotors or a bad caliper. No, he told me the entire system was shot, and the brakes would need to be fixed all around: all new pads, calipers, rotors, and a fluid flush. The quote: $956.00! I knew damn well the pads were fine. At most, I needed one new caliper/pad and back rotors. I scoffed at the price and asked, "Well, what absolutely needs to be fixed first." He gave me the whole spiel about how it would be best to do it all at once. He was pushy, and I was pretty annoyed. I declined any work, paid for the inspection and oil change, and left. I went to Tom's in Woodhaven immediately after. They said I needed a new caliper/pad on the front driver wheel and new rotors in the back. When I told them Firestone wanted $956.00 to fix everything, even they laughed. They fixed only what needed to be fixed, and it was half the price. I have been using this same Firestone for over 14 years. The faces behind the counter may have changed but the service is always consistently great. They don't bullshit you like other places. They will let you know what repairs can wait and what needs to be done pronto. I have never had an issue getting in and my repairs/oil changes/maintenance have always been done in a timely manner. read more

Worst service ever,I brought my car in with concerns about service engine light,abs,& traction off light all on.Leonard the service manager was rude to say the least.I brought my car in on Saturday afternoon Leonard said he couldn't get to my car that day &said that I should come in Sunday morning since they open at 8 AM & he would try to look at it by noon,well noon came & went he finally called at about 1 PM.He said that there were no lights on & that he couldn't tell what was wrong because of that (I believe those codes are stored in the computer) he said it was probably an ABS harness & would be a couple of hours to fix,I told him to go ahead with 317.00 repair.this was at about 1PM,at 3:45 I called to check on the progress of the vehicle because they close at 5,he told me that he could get it done if I didn't call & take him away from working on the car.Leonard finally called at 4:45 to say the car was ready,I went to pick-up the car,paid for the repair,& not 5-10 minutes done the road,all the lights came on again,being that they were closed for the evening,I had my wife bring the car back on Monday,& Leonard was even ruder yet,he said that checking out the car was not happening that day because it was late & he didn't have time to check it out.He yelled at my wife & said he could have taken care of that on Sunday if the part was available & if I didn't call him & take him away from the repair.(totally unprofessional).We finally took the car back 5 days later with the same problem because I feel Firestone should honor they're repairs & work to make sure the job was done correctly.This time they found it to be a hub assembly(why didn't they check this the first time).It turned out the hub assy. was warranted but still cost 107.00 labor to replace.I don't mind spending the money for the repair as long as done right,I do mind having to argue with someone who's not going take you seriously,I'll never take another car to Firestone to repair anything, & I wouldn't recommend anyone else to take their car there either. read more
