DO NOT COME HERE. 3 hours with an appointment and they STILL didn't have my inspection done. I scheduled a 1:00 PM appointment for a NYS inspection and dropped my truck off at noon before lunch so they could put it in line. When I checked back at 1:30 PM, they told me, "You're next," so I figured it would only be a few more minutes. When I returned at 3:00 PM, my truck still hadn't even been moved into the shop for the inspection. After having my vehicle for over 3 hours, they hadn't started one of the simplest services they offer. I had to leave without getting the inspection because I needed to get back to work for a meeting. If they were running behind, I would have appreciated an honest update instead of being told I was "next" again and again. This was on a brand-new truck, so there wasn't even any repair work involved, just a routine inspection. Extremely disappointing experience. I won't be bringing any of my vehicles back to Firestone. read more

They gave me an in and out of the door price at 653$ and we can set an appointment up at 2. It was now just before 12. So I had to drive an hour to get there. What would have been a five-star review for them taking me in last minute and putting in pants on my tire turned into a one-star because of course they took advantage of me and talked me into all these things that I needed that I did not . They passed my entire like what I went in for however came out with the mechanic making it seem dire that I get all these other things done right away. Totally taking advantage of me not knowing. We've been taking our cars here for years, but things have really gone downhill. We had a tire replaced and all the tires rotated. Driving a day later on the Thruway and the car starts vibrating and making an awful noise. Returned to the shop the next day and were told "You managed to lose three lug nuts," like it was something we did. Subsequent visits have been equally disappointing. Had the worst experience ever in this shop. I bought 55,000 mile tires a year and half ago and now they have hardly any tread left. I have put 17000 miles on them. They didn't even make 20,000 miles. I took my car in to have them warrantied and get new tires. Dealt with Roman. Guy had a attitude right from the start. Came up with all sorts of excuses that they cannot be covered. Didn't rotate them enough, didn't have a alignment. etc. I asked for the district managers name and he refused to give it to me. Went back and forth with him but he was a ass!!! At first he wouldn't even give me his name. Not sure what the guys problem is but definitely should not be a manager. I am going to find out who is the district manager and push this up to corporate. The tires are shit and the service is even shittier. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. read more

I had a very scary incident driving along 147 north on my way home on January 4th 2024. Sparks were being emitted from my car (it look like fireworks shooting from my car) and suddenly the car stopped moving. I asked for help from a person who lives off the highway - we found the tire on his neighbour's front lawn, about 50 feet across the road from the car. I bought new front tires in December 2023 from this establishment. The tire rim was obviously not bolted properly to the axle of the car. This should never happen!! I am grateful that there wasn't a car traveling southbound when the tire flew across the road, otherwise the driver could have been badly hurt or possibly killed!! read more

I went to Firestone in Scotia, NY for an auto inspection on 11/27/2023. I was informed that my car had failed inspection because my brake pads and rotors needed to be fixed and that it would cost $877 for the total bill. In light of that, I chose to take my car to my usual mechanic instead of having the repair done at Firestone. Before I left Firestone, I was informed that they would have to remove the previous inspection sticker on my car because the car had failed inspection. After my mechanic checked my car he told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my brakes, and that they were in great shape. He was very surprised that Firestone had failed my car for that reason. When I took my car elsewhere for inspection, it passed without a hitch. I have completely lost trust in Firestone of Scotia and will certainly not recommend this establishment to other customers. read more

I have been going to this specific Firestone dealer for many years with all my cars and I have always suggested them for service to my friends and family because I had had great experiences. The work was done right, they were on time and they never tried to sell me something I didn't need. I have always had a good relationship with the previous managers and since I have been a loyal and regular customer for so long, they always treated me right. During the past several months, everything has changed there. There has been turnover in the entire staff including all the technicians as well as the manager. Now, I need to make an appointment for even a simple oil change at least a week in advance because they have no openings. Additionally, even when I make an appointment and drop off my car in the morning for an alignment and an oil change for example, my car sits in the parking lot until a couple hours before closing and it isn't finished until after 5:00PM! Today, I had an appointment to have a snow tire changeover done and I made the appointment over a week ago. Then this morning the manager called me to say he has no technicians so he cannot do the job and offered to reschedule. Today, that is not possible and I am tired of their excuses so I called a competitor and they can take me in today and offered to have the job done in 2 hours. That's the way it should be for a regular customer. This isn't the first time they have asked me to reschedule due to staffing issues. Needless to say, I will be taking the service business for my four cars elsewhere. I need to have a repair shop I can count on. Things there lately are absolutely terrible and I will let everyone know to avoid them! I would like to give a HUGE shoutout to Corey & Tabatha at this location. I have been here multiple times and have always received good service, it is the only place I go now as they make me feel comfortable and not taken advantage of as a young female. Tabatha is wonderful & very kind, and takes her time to explain things to you. Corey is excellent at what he does and is very knowledgeable. I originally had an appointment to get my car worked on and dropped it off. My parents picked me up, and as we pulled away, my parents car broke down (turns out their axle snapped in half). Corey, Tabatha & Paulie came out to look at it, and helped my father push the car back to the shop. They ended up fixing my parents car, and were still able to get the work done on mine as well. My dad was very impressed with their work, and with their fair pricing. I recommend this Firestone location to everyone. I stopped in today, from out of town, with my check oil light on. I pulled a into Firestone in Scotia and the manager took the keys saying "we'll check it out". He came back 10 minutes later saying " you're down two quarts which is odd since your car is only a 2019. ". Another 10 minutes past and my car was pulled up. The manager said "we filled the oil and tightened the oil pan plug that was loose. ". Thank you Lexus for my sh&tty service. Thank you to the Firestone team in Scotia. I'm not sure why I keep returning to this store. Maybe it is convienence? I brought my car to the shop this week for a repair/ replacement of my tire. They were able to squeeze me in which was great, but when I picked up the car I noticed the tire pressure light was flashing. I returned to the shop and this is when things went South. The manager came out and looked at the vehicle and initially said the car either need to drive for 5 miles to reset or there is a button the needs to be pressed. He looked for the button and was unable to find it. He then realized because the light was flashing and not on that the sensor wasn't communicating. He ran inside to check the notes made on the car when the tire was placed. He came out and told me the wheel didin't have a sensor on it. It was an empty box. He then proceeded to wiggle the driver front valve stem and said he didn't think there was one on that tire as well. I explained to him to the sensor was there before we brought the car in and maybe it was damaged when the tire was removed? He assured me it was an empty box and went back to the store. I then looked up on youtube how to reset the sensor. It showed me the proper location of the reset button under the dash. After I pressed the button and held it for 2 seconds the sensor cleared and has worked normally. I don't appreciate being lied to by the store manager. If you don't know something, own it. I would not recommend servicing your car here. read more

I was pleased with this place for years. I used to get discounted oil changes and tire rotations. But last time I went they did something to my tires when rotating them. They made a funny sound. I tried to take the tire off to see what was going on and I couldn't get the tire off. They put it on so tight, and it was after the nuts and bolts were removed. They use a hammer to put the tire on and I think they hammered it too much. They also sprayed a liquid inside the brake pads, NEVER DO THAT! They also worked on my friends car. He needed a new alternator. They gave him a refurbished one. Few weeks later his car was acting up again and took it to another Firestone, they said they couldn't find the problem and sent him to a local Toyota dealer. The dealer said he had a faulty Alternator, gave him a new one and said he just needed something in the engine cleaned. My dad also got some new tires from them and they sprayed something on his tires which leaked into the brakes. People are nice, but not great at getting the job done right. read more

My brakes suddenly stopped working on my way to Albany from Rochester for business. I had the car towed here not knowing about the negative reviews of the new manager. Roman claimed my emergency parking brake was stuck on and totally wore out the rear caliper motors, rotors, and brake pads. All communication with Roman was done via phone. I was driven home to Rochester the next day and my car was "fixed and ready" to be picked up after the weekend. I had to rent a car to drive back here from Rochester on Halloween because Roman actually said on the phone he really wanted to get this one in before end of month. I didn't think much of it but now I think he was trying to pad his monthly sales numbers. When I got there the brakes still did not function properly, it seemed they fixed nothing! I white knuckle drove the almost 4 hours back to Rochester and took it to the dealership I bought it from. Issue was the brake booster vacuum pump. I specifically asked Roman if that could be the issue after some internet searches and he said it was fine! My dealership fixed the problem under warranty and they thought I got hosed for the $1,600 in work that probably wasn't needed (car under 30k miles). I called Firestone corporate to open a case shortly after and have heard nothing back yet after almost two months. Absolute joke of a company with a crook as the manager of this store. I will be exploring my legal options. read more

I've been to a few Firestones in the area closer to my workplace in Albany and this one is the best I've found so far. I'm so glad that it's very close to my home. Every time I come in the salespeople have been friendly and informative. They've automatically applied discounts to my oil changes and when recommending extra services, they're happy to explain their recommendations in layman's terms and you don't feel like they're upselling (unlike some other places in the area). read more

this review should of been submitted a long time ago. first I took the car there to scotia location to replace an old tire, about a month later a repair needed to be made that required the tire come off. the key lock was not put back into the car and when I stated only they had the car recently they said perhaps an employee that was fired took it. I also noted the bolts were missing out of the car too. my other mechanic did my repair and stated the new tire had a lot of air loss, I was thinking maybe due to air changes or a nail. i ended up going back and found they were not sealed right. my other daughter needed a sensor replaced 800 dollars , opened up fire stone care to do it. she took car for a check at the dealership and they stated the brake was never connected and was seized, I told the guy to fix it he connected the brake but didn't note that it was resized and the entire job had to be redone someplace else. he would not refund our money. do not go to scotia firestone read more

Great customer service!! Even though my appointment was delayed a couple hours because of an issue getting my tires in from another location, the service was fast and friendly. They notified me well in advance of the delay, told me when they expected the tires to arrive, and rescheduled me accordingly. I've worked in customer service before so I tend to have more patience in situations like this than most others, but the overall customer service I received made up for this little hiccup. Even when ordering the tires a few days earlier, they were very informative and helped me choose a tire that work well for my vehicle. Will definitely use them again. read more
