I took my seemingly perfectly balanced and aligned 2010 Chevy Malibu in for a routine maintenance tire rotation and decided to throw in balance as well. I called to check on it near closing as I had not heard from anyone after having dropped it off the night before. I was told all four rims were bent and could not be balanced. I was offered 4 refurbished rims at $230 each. I opted out of that seeing as to it was riding well when dropped off but unfortunately for me on the ride home it is wobbling so bad it is now practically unusable. I am very confused as to what happened. I will update this after visiting another shop next week. read more

After today's experience, I have to drop Firestone in Plaistow by a point. I scheduled a periodic maintenance service for 9:00 AM. There was a commitment I had at noon, but I figured there was plenty of time. This particular manufacturer-recommended maintenance didn't involve anything big. Worst auto maintenance experience ive had. Brought it in because my AC wasnt working and to get serviced. End of the day it was 700$ bill and not even 24 hrs later my AC goes out again, so i bring it back and they tell me its an issue with my thermostat so they replace and charge my AC again. Worked for 48 hours and then went out again after another 500$ bill. 1200$ total and still no working AC, better off at your dealership mechanic. read more

This place fit me in for an inspection day of, 3 hours after I called. Nowhere else in the area had an appointment. They were fast, polite and repaired the few issues on my truck on the spot so I could pass the inspection. They know what they are doing. My truck is an 87 Ford Bronco II and I had a bad experience earlier that day at the sticker station with the worker looking at my truck and saying "I wont even look at that, I'll just fail it" so I was pretty stressed and frustrated when I finally found this Firestone location. They totally made my day better and I was on the road again within the hour! I'll definitely come back here for my next inspection and for any repairs in the meantime. read more

Went in today for an oil change. Having a toyota camry I should only need standard only ($50). Got charged for full synthetic ($108) for whatever reason and they forgot to do the supposedly complementary battery check service until I had to remind them. My own dealership charged less than this. I don't know who is running it now, but the previous times I came in were great (last year about this time). This left an annoyingly bad taste and honestly would prefer going back to my dealership (which charged me only $50). Such a disappointment, seeing how my last couple times were amazing. read more

Came in the day before to make the appointment and show them my tires, told them that I would be here with two toddlers and that I was not going to be able to get a ride and would need to stay. With winter around the corner I faced the facts that being a part of being a responsible driver is investing in the materials that will keep you safe on the road. Quote-hunting commenced; I discovered that tires are mad expensive, yo. After hunting around online, in town, and across the state, I called Firestone in Plaistow at the recommendation of a friend. The service was honest and straight-forward. The gentleman on the line informed me of the benefits of the tire I was considering (Blizzak) . The good-natured and honest advice is what swayed me to buying with this particular store. This location is relatively new and conveniently located off of 125N. Comfortable lounge area while you wait (this Yelp review brought to you by: free wi-fi!). Mike was helpful and friendly - he seriously raised the bar for auto specialist auras (so neighborly! as is the way of NH!). In the end, I was paying exactly what I wanted and new I would be feeling a lot more confident during my long Northward commutes. My wife recently brought her car into the Firestone shop in Plaistow, NH for an inspection. She has a late model Lexus GS 350. After the inspection, the technician came out to inform my wife that her car would not pass inspection without new pads and rotors. He then proceeded to give her the hard sell, and try to convince her that the repair was needed immediately. My wife declined the repair, and accepted the rejection sticker. The following weekend I pulled the tires off. The pads were a bit worn, but probably had another 5000 or so on them - they were nowhere near being dangerously worn. I checked the rotor wear - the difference between where the pads ride on the rotor, and where they don't was about the thickness of a piece of paper. The rotors had no grooves or warping - they were perfectly smooth. I measured the thickness of the rotors at the pad, and it was 21 millimeters. The minimum allowable thickness according to Lexus is 16.5 millimeters - so I was well within spec. The rotors looked almost brand new. I replaced the pads myself, then brought the car to another shop for a new inspection, and asked him to pay particular attention to the rear brakes. He completed his inspection, and told me that the brakes and rotors looked perfect - nowhere even near time for replacement. I suspect that the Firestone shop saw a little old lady come in, assumed that she knew nothing about cars, and figured they could scam her into a new set of brakes. Fortunately, my wife did not fall for it. We will NEVER use this shop - or ANY Firestone shop - again !!! In addition, I will tell my story to as many people as possible. As all tire shops we are advised of pending issues that they found during our visit, and provided a quote. A very basic maintenance service that doesn't take more than a half hour and the service rep tells me he's only got ONE tech and tries to reschedule me for the next day!! The minute Mike started speaking with me I felt respected; as a women getting our cars fixed it can be intimidating at times when you don't understand everything. They change my tires twice a year. Mostly good. Last time they tried to charge me an extra $50 or so for work they didn't do, and I caught it and had it taken off the bill. They're also short handed this winter and it took several hours to change the tires, but not the end of the world, no one's perfect. Overall, they work hard and do good work. read more

Unfortunately, my husbands last visit to this shop will be the last for our family. We have been a long time customer of Firestone. From tires, to service to inspection stickers, we get almost everything done here when needed (and my husband can't fix it himself, haha). Lately though, it seems as though they are always recommending to get additional things done while getting our vehicles inspected. While some are valid, the last visit was unacceptable and we felt that either 1. The techs need further training or 2. They are trying to get you to pay for more than what you need. It appeared to be the latter in my husbands case. During his annual inspection, he was told he needed his ball joints replaced. My husband, pretty knowledgeable about vehicles, knew this wasn't true, but got the $700 quote and declined (mind you, he still had to pay for the failed inspection and an oil change which he needed). Immediately he went down the road to Jack's and explained his situation. The guy inspected his vehicle, right in front of him, and said "your ball joints are completely fine" and even showed him. My husband also mentioned that the last time he went to Firestone for an oil change, they "recommended" he replace his water pump because there was a small leak. Guess what? No mention of this at Firestone during his inspection, and the mechanic at Jack's checked it out and stated it was completely dry. My husbands inspection passed successfully at Jacks. $85 later! I'd like to give Firestone the benefit of the doubt, but they proved to me that their practices as of late are shady. I expect honest and trustworthy professionalism when I'm paying money for services. I also emailed customer service on this issue a week ago, and haven't received a single response back. Disappointed to say the least and annoyed we had to waste money there for a failed inspection when nothing was wrong in the first place. read more

Went in today about 11 for an oil change while I waited for my appt. at the local town fair tire. I worked Desiree who was courteous, knowledgable and friendly. Worked me on finding a more appropriate tire for my needs and ended up walking out with four new tires on my four runner. I left very happy as it was a painless process. We stopped here on our way to a vacation in Maine. Our air conditioner had quit in our PT cruiser. This unit had been replaced a week ago by a firestone service center in New Jersey, then replaced again a few days later when it failed. We arrived with almost no advance notice. They were very concerned about our interrupted trip. They had our car in the garage within 10 minutes. They concluded the previous service had used the wrong mixture of fluid and oil in the system. THe whole operation took about 90 minutes. No charge. We spoke with both the manager and the technician who urged us to come right back if there were any more problems. Seriously?! They told me I needed a new TPMS since mine was cracked and leaking. I asked if I could buy one online ($30) as opposed to theirs ($70) and have them install it. They said yes, no problem, will install for $20. After the install, they said I needed to drive in order the car computer to pick up the new TPMS, which would turn off the low pressure light on the dash. This didn't work and after consulting with the dealer they explained that a which they apparently did not have, was needed in order to pair the new TPMS with the computer and they would do it for $47. I asked Firestone to pay the dealer bill and the defensive excuses started: - it's my fault since I bought the part - they were doing me a favor - they did their job since the new one no longer leaked (I guess it doesn't have to work properly) - I'm SOL and need to go to the dealer and pay up Finally they gave me my $20 back but trust is now gone. Had a 5 o'clock appoitment and got there at 4:50. Stood there and waited exactly 10 minutes while person was on the phone with a not so satisfied customer. When I actually stuck my head in (after being ignored for 10 minutes) there were actually 2 service reps sitting there. Just summed up by saying "CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT" and walking out! I've been meaning to put an update on this review--- after having a great experience, I went back and purchased all new tires at this location. Had them mounted balanced--the whole 9 yards you expect when you get 4 new tires. I expected they put the tires on correctly--- well it turns out that I went to get an oil change and some other maintenance work done a few months later at my regular car maintenance place. The shop tells me that my tires were uni-directional and they were ALL installed BACKWARDS. The shop proceeded to show me, very clearly marked on the tires was an arrow and directions that clearly state- "mount in this direction". They were all backwards. I did go back to Firestone and had them fixed, but in my opinion, this should have never happened. The person installing the tires should have been knowledgeable enough to install them correctly. Maybe I should have "checked" this, however when I am paying for a service- especially a car related service- I should be able to trust in the provider. As the tires are supposed to channel the water away-- when its rainy/snowy- it was a potential safety issue. Not happy will not be going back with my new car. read more

I came here about a week ago to get my coolant flushed. I usualy work on my car myself but you need a special tool to do a complete flush unless you want to splice a T into a hose but anyways they have a nice waiting area were you can watch the garage through glass. After about 15 Minutes I noticed they still hadn't drained the coolant I figured they couldn't find the radiator drain plug witch is in a very weird spot behind the head light. So I got up to tell the guy at the desk were it is and he said they just got off the phone with the Jeep specialist about it and figured out were it was. I liked this because they could have easily just not drained the radiator and flushed the rest of the system but they took the extra time to do it right. It was our first-ever visit and we expected today's typical 'what do you want' bad attitude, especially on a Sunday morning - we are still in shock at how polite, friendly and helpful Matt was from the first minute we were in the store. He was incredibly knowledgeable, explained our options with clear pricing and made us feel very comfortable, I had concerns coming in based on previous bad experience with other installers. Quite honestly we were blown away by his really great attitude and fantastic service as well as 2 other Techs (Adam & one other) that helped us load/unload my car, they could not have been more friendly and professional. Without exaggeration, I can say this was the best experience I have ever had with annual tire service and you have 2 new customers for life. Oh, and can I mention how quickly my changes were made? We agreed I would return later in the afternoon to pick up, but all 4 tires were completed in well under an hour - another unexpected, added bonus. It was clear to see why Matt Mondello is your store manager, he was unbelievably awesome. Firestone quickly proved to be a first class operation from beginning to end, we are beyond impressed and will share this experience with anyone and everyone we know. This level of service far exceeded any I've had with the Mercedes dealership, they could learn a lot from your Plaistow team - Thank you!
