I wouldn't recommend having your vehicle taken care by Firestone. I purchased four brand new tires from them and two years later I had a leak in a tire and I was informed by one of representatives that they can patch the tire for $30 but there is possibility if they end up braking a sensor in a tire I'll be responsible for covering a cost to replace it which would be additional $80. read more

Bad experience, I have to pull out my car , was promised my car be done at 4 pm, i came at 5:30 pm my car was exactly where I parked , I was there at 8 am early so it can be done , to be fair Jaime told the they are busy Had they told me it cannot be done I should not wasted my time. I called twice before I went btw. But both are just promises. Dont promise what you cant keep. read more

I have had mixed experiences with Firestones in the past but tonight I Had a very good experience with Jonie. I came in the last hour of closing on a Friday night and she went above and beyond to get my tire replaced and call the warranty company for my reimbursement - will definitely go back to this location for brake and tire maintenance. Thanks Jonie read more

Will never go here again. Went in because I had a tire with a leak in the wall that I knew couldn't be fixed. Started out asking for one tire to be replaced. Was told one more tire wasn't safe but the other two were fine. So I said fine replace that one also. Two hours later they came back to me and said that their "alignment specialist " was putting my tires back on and was saying my car was severely out of alignment. I asked to just get my car back. Which amazingly it was ready within minutes. Once I left and started driving home I let go of the steering wheel and the car drove straight as an arrow down the road. No pulling, no shaking, nothing that would indicate I was out of alignment. Guess the one extra tire up sell was not good enough. Only giving one star because I have to.. read more

This place is great. Good prices and friendly staff. I've gone to this location several times. Each time that I've gone, my services were done in very reasonable amounts of time. Can't beat the service here! I definitely plan on coming back. read more

Been here 3 times! I take appointment every single time but again wait for 3 hrs to check my car. Bad customer service! read more

This place is a rip off, they will show you a print out indicating your car has more miles so they can show you need more repairs and flushes. Some of the pricing is much higher than the dealer. Why would I have the work done here? If you need tires go to Costco or Sam's club and save money. No matter what car you take in you will be show that you need at least a $800 worth of work. .It is clear that the front counter have sales goals and get paid commission to push services!! read more

What an awesome experience! They stay late to fix my overheating complicated issue while I waited. They even offer me a courtesy ride home and back but got the part replaced right away sense I really wanted to wait with the car. read more

I don't normally use Yelp all that much as far as writing reviews, just reading them. However, due to my last visit to the Norridge Firestone, I felt they deserved a shout out on here. I've used them for years, but just for basic services, ie tires. (I LOVE MY DESTINATION AT2'S!). I have an '06 Nissan Xterra that I'm absolutely obsessed with. I normally get all my major work done at the dealership. This time though, the dealer prices where way to high for the work that was going to be done. (Shocks, struts, sway bar, and 2 tires) Of course Firestone was next on my list of places to check out. I got a really great deal!!! I couldn't have been more happier with the price, let alone the treatment I received. Miguel was the one who checked me in and was very nice considering it was 7:30 am and I myself was still half asleep. While my vehicle was there, I received a phone call from Jonie asking me if I knew I had a major oil leak. Of course I had no clue.I assumed everything was fine since I had just had it into the dealership and they mentioned nothing about this. Turns out I had a bad gasket. Jonie was even kind enough to send me pictures of the underside of my car. I couldn't believe it. It looked like I drove through a huge puddle of oil. It was everywhere. They offered to fix it no problem. The mechanic that was working on "my baby" was Sergio, one of their most experienced. And after this visit, I am going to be requesting him from now on. When I got my truck back, it felt brand new. I have 124k on it and still had all the factory parts on it. Knock on wood, nothing has ever happened with this car. Very reliable, however its at the mileage where everything is starting to go. I know it's Sergios job to fix vehicles, but I am extremely grateful for the work he did. And when it was all done, he was very kind talking to me about what he did all day on it. I've never had an issue with any of the staff here. All are very kind and professional. I do, however, want to do a special shout out to Jonie for helping (and dealing) with me and all my questions and issues. She's always willing to help you out however she can. And also, Sergio. Great mechanic. He will be the only one I trust with my vehicle from now on, and that says a lot. I don't let many people work on my car because I know how some mechanics can be. Not at the Norridge Firestone though. They are honest with you about everything and will help you do what's best for your vehicle! Get your car worked on here!!!! You won't regret it!!! read more

Buyer beware!!! I've been going to this Firestone for years - mostly for tire issues. Today I went in to have a tire repaired that had a screw in it. Noticed it because my tire pressure light went on but tire never went flat. They were swamped but were able to fit me in and I was extremely grateful. Came back to pick up my car, got the song and dance of how all of my tires were checked and tire was repaired blah blah blah paid etc... later in the day, when I got to my location, I noticed the same screw was still in the tire. I took a picture of my tire with the screw in the Firestone lot and then again when I still found the screw. It was the same screw in the same location on the tire. Called the Firestone and they told me to come back later today. I wasn't very close and decided to play it safe and go a Firestone that was closer in Hillside. Those guys were great, removed the screw and told me the tire was not patched AT ALL. The even brought me in the garage, gave me the screw and showed me how they patched the tire and that nothing was done to it at the other Firestone. So I basically have been scammed and lied to. I had a very similar situation with a different tire in June 2021 and had since had my tires rotated. This could have actually been the same tire and I was probably scammed in June as well. read more

I went here for an oil change on a Saturday and was out the door in less than an hour! The staff was very courteous and sharp. They pointed out my battery was very low and that was my strut/shock was leaking (all of which are true). They did not pressure me at all to do additional work. They simply informed and gave me copies to take home. There is plenty of parking in the lot and inside there are chairs and a tv to watch (you can even change the channels with the remote on the table!!) and very clean bathrooms. This is definitely my new favorite Firestone location. read more

I went to the store to get my car parts checked because it was on warranty and the store manager was rude. Started to give me attitude and argued with me the whole time I was there. I even showed him, that the parts that I bought from them was still under warranty. I would like to speak to the owner because i want to get my car fixed and I am not about to spend more money on parts that still under warranty. The store manager was unprofessional and I would like to speak to someone that's higher up than the store manager. read more

Needed to get my brakes checked out. They'd been squealing for a week or so. Wasn't sure if it was front, back or both. Drew got me in an hour after I called. Much appreciated considering how busy they were. Only needed front brakes and rotors. Backs were cleaned but otherwise in good condition. I truly appreciate the honesty and integrity shown to me. He didn't recommend or sell me anything I didn't need. Dealership quality work. Happy with the price as well. read more

I have had the worst experience of my life at this location. I'm an 80 yr old veteran. I took my car there because it wouldn't starart they repaired it replacing a fuel pump module Two weeks later and 400 miles later it wouldn't start again.Had it towed and the pushed it into a bay. Forgot my house keys in car and came back for them and they had car jacked up about 18 inches . Called and told me I needed a new battery. Called next day and told me I didn't need new battery but my engine was now noisy' It wasn't noisy when it was there the first time. after $900 the first time and 2 weeks later they said nothing they did caused the engine to go bad.I don't believe it was a coincidence. read more

Came in for a flat tire. I already had the tire of the car. The last said my cat is going to go next which it did. The techs did more talk and play then work. I guess its because its closing time and they don't want to get another car, don't know but its been now more then an hour. Does it take that long to fix a flat? read more

The people were moderately nice, but knew nothing about my car. I asked if they could look at my BMW because I had just bought it. They didn't even open the hood, but came back and told me everything looked great and sent me off (after charging me for it). There were a number of things that needed attention, all of which were very apparent had they even tried to look. Won't go back here. read more

Purchased a complete set of new tires in November of 2017. Was told I had a 50k mile warranty, but every couple of weeks since have had to put air in the back tires. Today my mechanic who was checking for fluid leak tells me my 2 back tires are bad and the belting is coming out despite having less than 15, 000 miles on them. I purchased the Primewell tire package (DOT # Y9hwclvx0117). Firestone can not help me if the tires are touched by any other mechanic. Unfortunately I have to get my car to them from my mechanic to have them look and I am sure it will be a waste of time. $675 dollars wasted. Avoid this place like the plague. Their tires are garbage and the service with regard to inspections is equally useless. Take your money and tire needs elsewhere. read more

* Great service and communication every time. * I have had my Ford Escape fixed here about 3 times now. * Brought it in for a front end noise problem, they gave me a quote, called me a few hours later and said that the tech missed some thing and they had to order another part. That part was FREE to me because they missed it the first time. They didn't even mention it to me! read more

When in for an oil change 11/24/14.Had appointment 4 9.00 am. did not leave until almost 10.30.I asked the Service associate Edgar foe prices on air filters before they worked on my car,but he seemed to concerned about selling overpriced tires to other customers. So 45 minutes later after the oil change he quotes some prices and then replaces the filters.Which by the way were overpriced & took another 1/2 hour to install. After all that aggravation on my way home I check my odometer and see that the oil pressure gauge was never reset and my tire pressure was never checked. So I call EDGAR back and ask him why and he tells me we changed your oil and hung up.Moral of the story if you want an oil change go to Jiffy lube if you want to be annoyed and ripped off go to Firestone.Worst Customer Service EVER!! read more

I have been to this location twice. Both times for tires. 1. Ford F-150, was quoted a good price for tires that are comparable to the OEM tires. Got a good price with no additions to the quote at the time it came to pay. 2.Saturn SC2.. replaced only the rear tires. Got the speech about how it is best to replace all the tires at once, but the front tires have less than 10K on them. Only replaced, rear tires was in and out pretty quick. read more

I have never had this level of service at a Service station before, everyone I spoke to was extremely knowledgable and helpful! I did exactly what they stated and fixed my car very promptly. First time I took my car there, they said I needed work that wasn't needed at all. (I'm no mechanic, but a friend who is, and actually used to work at a different Firestone, looked at what they said I needed and said it was wrong.) OK - so then I needed a new tire and battery. This location is close to where I work, so I figured, how could they screw that up? Well, they managed. My car has low-profile tires on it; they caught the skip plate underneath the car on the rack and ripped it in a few places, fastening it with zip ties instead of the bolts that it was fastened with. The battery - well, my car has some plastic housings that cover things under the hood, and they did the same thing! Ripped things off instead of unfastening the bolts, damaging a few of them, and reattached some of them (if they bothered at all) with zip ties again! Since when are zip ties used by competent auto mechanics? Did they say anything to me, noooooo - I found out when I next got my oil changed at Jiffy Lube. I learned my lesson - will not go here again! You've been warned! read more

Be prepared to wait 2-3 hours longer than what they tell you. Took my car in for new tires and alignment in summer of 2010 and I was told it would be ready by 12pm, after a few phone calls and postponements, it ended up being 4pm. Despite this, I recommended the shop to a friend this past week. He needed tires and alignment and was told it would be ready in 2-3 hours. He called at the stated time to check if car is ready and was told it is not...one more hour. It turned out, three hours later, they weren't able to even start working on it. He returned the next day only to experience the same thing, but this time they actually finished the job after about 6 hours. read more

I found myself with a leak and then a flat after getting an oil change at Jiffy Lube. Because it was about an hour before closing neither they nor Just Tires would take me. The technician at Firestone stayed late to help me out of my fix. Jonie, who took my call and worked the desk, was very nice and helpful. I also observed her go out of her way and find options to help a customer who did not speak English and who came in just as the place was closing up. Jonie even offered the woman a lift home. I am grateful for the good and fast service - just what I needed in the situation. read more

These guys fixed my tire last week. They beaded the rim because our usual mechanic couldn't find the reason for the flat the week before. it cost $29 bucks, $11 less than our usual guy, who couldn't fix it. Then exactly a week later, it was flat again. I called and they said bring it in. They had 4 mechanics find a tiny pin hole in my tire and fixed it for no charge. the wait was only an hour each time and the staff was so friendly. I highly recommend this place. read more

Had a flat tire that even my husband agreed was probably unfixable. I use full-size spares. Went in to Firestone for either a patch or a new tire. They explained to me why they couldn't fix it (too close to the outer curvier part) and when I asked for a replacement he said they didn't have the exact same in stock but either they could order it (take a few days) or sell me something comparable. I told him I didn't care about looks, but I wanted to make sure I got the same performance tire as my flat was. He sold me a tire for $137 which my husband said later was a fair price and a good tire. At the time I couldn't get him on the phone (arg) but these guys treated me courteously and fairly (and it was obvious that I was clueless!!) read more

The service advisor, JONIE, is a stud. Flat out intelligent, logical, patient, and NICE. I continue going there because of her. Beyond Upset with this place. Kept giving me the run around with time and price. What should have been a ten minute job turned into 5 hours. They are a bunch of crooks trying to take advantage of a woman. They told me I needed front brakes on my truck as it wasn't safe driving. I, in turn, took it elsewhere where I was told still have about 5,000 miles on the front brakes. So basically a woman walks into Firestone & they feel the need to screw you over by telling you unnecessary work needs to be done asap for safety reasons. No, I say screw you Firestone. You give auto mechanics a bad rap. I found a great place that is trustworthy & will never look back. A 1 star is way too much credit. Response to Firestone's reply: As per your request, I am replying with my issue at the Firestone located in Harwood Heights, IL on January 21, 2016 I brought my truck in for a routine oil change & asked to have them also look at the rear tire. The oil change was fine. I received a call back saying the oil change was complete but that I needed a new tire as they couldn't fix the original (which I purchased a full set of tires at that same Firestone a few years back). The original quote over the phone on the tire was $247. I told the man I couldn't purchase it that day & that I thought it seemed rather high for 1 tire when I bought all 4 there & paid somewhere around $800-900. He was able to get the price down to $202.80. He also told me I needed brakes as my vehicle was unsafe to drive (which is very scary to hear). He said the rotors were shot & they couldn't cut them as they were already too thin. I was quoted around $306 for new front pads & new front rotors. I told him I had to hold off as I wasn't prepared financially for that that day. This work order # is 192292 dated 1/21/16. A couple of days later I spoke with a friend who owns a very reputable auto repair shop. I explained what Firestone told me. I dropped the truck off by him to give me a price. He said from what he was able to see, I did not need front brakes, as previously indicated by Firestone that I needed them right away. He said I have roughly 5000 miles left on the front pad & rotors. Now hearing this upset me as I've spent a bundle at Firestone. This type of customer service is what truly gives auto mechanics a bad name. They see a woman walk in & think they are going to put the fear of God in her by saying how unsafe your vehicle is just to make the sale when the customer never really needed the work done. That is bad business. Harvey Firestone's quote below makes me think he wouldn't approve of this type of behavior if he was still around. Maybe there should be additional training given at each store so not to screw over the average American. "The growth and development of people is the highest calling of leadership. It is only as we develop others that we permanently succeed. You get the best out of others when you get the best out of yourself. I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business. The secret of my success is a two word answer: Know people. Our company is built on people - those who work for us, and those we do business with." read more

I purchased 4 brand new tires about 8 months ago and after driving a month I noticed the balancing looked off as my tires were running bald on the insides. I came in and Jodie mchugh the tire manager looked at them and said everything looked perfect. A few months later the tires were completely bald on the inside so she was absolutely wrong and when I came back as I had warranty still, she didn't want to check to see if she made a mistake. The worst part is when she brought out the horrible store manager Miguel Gonzalez and hid behind him as he proceeded to argue with me that my balance issues had nothing to do with their work. He had the audacity to yell at me and my son in front of other customers and tell us we had to pay 10 bucks just for him to look at it and see if it was their mistake.. Absolutely embarrassing.. Teach your tire specialist how to do their job and replace that cheap manager and you might keep your customers.. We went to another fire stone and they fixed the incorrect balance job and gave us some replacement tires at low cost as an apology for this disgraceful shop. Avoid this place!! read more
