My F-150 was leaking radiator fluid in July 2023 and this Firestone (#543012) in Mobile, AL (3105 Airport Blvd.) said the water pump needed to be replaced. $1,000.00 taler, the water pump is replaced. In December 2025, the same problem recurred, F-150 leaking radiator fluid. Firestone said the water pump needed to be replaced. No warranty on the part replaced 30 months prior. Another $1,000.00 repair bill for this vehicle's 3rd water pump. Two weeks later, radiator fluid continues to leak so the F-150 makes its third visit to the same Firestone for the same problem. I had to replace an entire gallon of radiator fluid in the 15 days since the latest repair, but the crew at Firestone cannot detect a leak in 30 hours at the service center. It is either gross incompetence or full-blown dishonesty. Either way, find another service center besides Firestone (#543012). read more

I've been going to Firestone for whale over 10 years and there's been some shaky experiences during this time however, this one takes the cake. I've never been to a Firestone in the three different states that they've serviced my mini vehicles and felt as if my time was not valuable today I came in for a simple oil change that should've taken 30 minutes. I've been here for a hour and a half and it's only because the guy working upfront asked if I wanted to get my filters changed because they were dirty. This was almost 40 minutes ago and the two filters are just now being changed out if I ever return to Firestone it definitely will not be dislocation. Terrible job terrible job your customers matter, they are the reason why Firestone employees have jobs remember that! read more

This review is intended to share our personal experience and warn other potential customers about the financial loss we experienced when we took our 2011 Ford F150 into Firestone Complete Auto Care, 3105 Airport Boulevard, Mobile, AL (near Bel AIr Mall) for brake service. We made an appointment for Thursday, August 14, 2025, and was checked in by Brandon Sells (store manager). We heard noise when braking, Brandon Sells (the store manager) checked us in and out. Brandon Sells later called and advised the truck needed rotors and pads to the tune of $630. We approved the work. Although Brandon Sells told us we could come and pick the vehicle up on the same Thursday, August 14th, when we got there, he told us the truck was still not ready. Brandon Sells told us the wrong brake parts had been put on the truck two times and the truck would not move. We were sitting in the parking lot watching the technician trying to move the truck and it would not move. Brandon Sells then told us it would be Friday, August 15th before the truck would be ready. We received a call the next day, on Friday from a Samantha telling us that the truck was ready. We picked it up made two stops on the way home without any problems. The next day, Saturday, August 16th, when my husband left to drive from Rivere du Chien/Halls Mill Rd area to Wigmans on Dauphin Island Pkwy the front area where the brake work was done started smoking. Witnesses to this said it looked like the front end of the truck was on fire. We called and tow truck and Brandon Sells immediately. Brandon Sells advised us it was the oil that was on the rotors that prevents rusting and it was safe to just drive it back and they would clean the oil up. We said no, and for safety reasons would prefer to have it towed back to him. The brake work had a warranty of 12,000 miles or 12 months. Brandon Sells did not have a technician look at the truck while we were there, Brandon Sells said he couldn't get to it until the next day. Next day, Sunday, August 17, 2025, Mike (the service manager) said Brandon Sells had the truck diagnosed on Saturday, August 16, 2025 and said the front calipers needed replacement and would cost $899. I don't know what happened whilst the truck was in the repair area, but it is highly suspect that brake work was done on Friday and then one day later (Saturday) the same area is smoking. Here is what my research found: A brake inspection on a 13-year-old vehicle should have included a check of the calipers, especially since your F-150's brakes were already making noise. Signs of a problem can include: * Uneven brake pad wear: A sticking caliper will press one pad more than the other, causing them to wear out at different rates. * Dragging sensation: If a piston is seizing, it can cause the brakes to constantly rub, feeling like a dragging sensation while driving. * Contaminated brake fluid: older fluid that has absorbed too much moisture can cause corrosion inside the calipers. There are a few reasons why a technician might have missed a problem during the initial check: * Hidden corrosion: The caliper piston can be corroded in a way that is not immediately visible. The piston's ability to retract can be affected by debris that builds up behind it over time. * Minimal symptoms: A caliper that is just beginning to seize may not have caused a noticeable pull or other clear symptoms during a quick test drive. * Inadequate inspection: The technician may not have performed a sufficiently thorough inspection to identify a latent problem. How the calipers could have been damaged during the repair The repair process itself can trigger a latent or new caliper issue. The damage is not necessarily intentional, but it can be caused by improper procedures. * Piston retraction: During the replacement of old, thin brake pads with new, thick pads, the technician must push the caliper's piston all the way back into its bore. If the piston is already compromised by corrosion or debris, this process can cause it to seize. * Improper handling: As you noted, letting the caliper hang by the brake line can damage it. A brake caliper should be properly supported when it is removed from the rotor to prevent stress on the flexible brake line. * Failure to clean and lubricate: The caliper sliding pins are vital for its proper function. If the technician does not clean and lubricate them properly, they can seize, which puts stress on the caliper. Addressing the shop's response * "It was oil on the rotors": This explanation from the manager is highly suspicious. While new rotors can have a protective oily coating, a significant amount of smoke hours after installation is not normal. The burning brake pad material from a seized caliper is a much more likely cause. * "Diagnosis changed": It is not uncommon for a new problem to reveal itself after a brake job, especially on older vehicles. I have brought my vehicle here for the last few years, I was happy with the service until our last visit. It took 6 days to do a simple flat repair & rim replacement. I asked to have all the lights on my dash turned off, that was not done. I was never called with an explanation as to why the repair took forever, I received none. My husband called everyday, he was given the runaround as well. Finally, on day six, I told my husband to go in there and talk to the staff at Firestone and have a conversation, man to man. Suddenly, after 6 days, the repair was done! I tried not to be angry with the staff, but a simple phone call with an explanation would of made up for the time they kept my vehicle. Only half the repair was done, & we have a Firestone Card, so obviously Firestone is not good to it's loyal customers. Well, so much for their new commercials about how they "treat you like family". Pure marketing fiction. My husband is battling leukemia and we needed to fly him out to Houston for his ongoing treatment. Something went wrong and he ended up in the hospital, delaying our trip back home to Georgia. In order to save money on car rentals, I flew home to pick up our car and drive it back to Texas. Somewhere in Alabama I blew a tire. Roadside Assist came and replaced the blown tire with a donut and I limped my car as far as Mobile, Alabama. On the way, my mother called ahead to this place to let them know I was coming and why it was important that I get back on the road ASAP. They said if I could get there by 5pm, they'd help me out. They knew I was on my way. About 10 minutes to 5:00 I ran in and explained myself. I told them about my husband in the hospital and that I had to be back in Houston before the following morning. They said No. They said they had already shut off the compressors. I was turned away in tears. If you want better service for your car in Mobile, head over to the Walmart Auto Care Center at 101 East Interstate 65 Service Road South. They took very good care of me and I was able to get back to Texas that night. This isn't my first review of this particular Firestone facility. I also sent a strongly worded version of this to Corporate. If this is how they do business, I'm sure it'll fall on deaf ears. Whatever you do, steer clear of this place. read more

Got my car in the bay in a reasonable amount of time and identified the source of the hellacious noise it was making: a stick lodged in the undercarriage that couldn't be seen at ground level. When I arrived it was opening time but there were no techs there to change tires. My tires are u see warranty but I still had to pay 40 dollars. I came from Atlanta where the Firestone there told me they would only charge 20 but they didn't have my size tires. I have an enterprise rental.. my maintenance light came on so i just needed my oil checked. I pulled up and no one acknowledged me. So i went inside the man in charge was nice but another man pulled up and he was serviced immediately. So i grabbed my keys and left. I told them i had groceries in the car ! I stupidly payed for a lifetime alignment on my truck in 2011. Since then I have had appointments cancelled on me numerous times citing a mechanic shortage. I scheduled an appointment for 4:30 today which I showed up on time for. I have now been sitting in the waiting room for an hour only to realize that my truck has not even been pulled into the bay yet. This company will never get my business again and will only be used for the alignment until I get a new vehicle. My one and only experience with this business makes me believe they do not have a qualified mechanic on duty. My husband and regular mechanic back home both agree with this diagnosis. However, to their credit, they did not charge me the diagnostic fee of $100.00 to examine my vehicle. It did take them three days to decide they had no idea what was wrong with it. I have used this Firestone location for YEARS. I had always had great service until my last 3 trips. Today was the last straw! I took my van in for routine oil change and tire rotation. The last time I took my van in for an oil change I was told I needed new windshield wiper blades; I thought it odd since we had recently replaced them ourselves but shrugged it off and said "No Thanks". After I left I noticed the drivers windshield wiper was torn, it was not torn when I arrived there for the service. I was annoyed that they had somehow torn it loose when checking them but decided it wasn't worth my time to go back and complain. I bought new windshield wipers but my husband kept forgetting to put them on. Finally two weeks ago I did it myself, I still have the old blades in the back of the van because I have not cleaned it out. Today I went in for the scheduled oil change and tire rotation. I knew my windshield wipers were brand new and were not torn; I even used my windshield washer to check the blades before I arrived. As they finished the service on my van, the desk clerk (I'm not sure what his name was but my receipt has "Service Advisor Rick" on it) called me up to give me the list of recommended services. When he said windshield wipers I told him "No I don't need windshield wipers I just replaced them" and explained my previous service with them and how i had just replaced the blades myself on a couple weeks ago. He went to ask the technician, Nathaniel who worked on my car, what was wrong with them. When he came back, he told me the driver's side was scrapping the windshield and I must have gotten a defective wiper. I declined the work and paid for my oil change. I told him I wanted him to show me the windshield wiper blade when they pulled my Van out because I just replaced them so I knew they were good blades. He walked outside with me and pulled the drivers blade up. The windshield wiper blade was torn loose about 1/3rd of the way up. I was livid. I know for a fact that my blade was NOT torn when I pulled in for service. The technician had to have intentionally torn it to sell an add-on service. If they are will to intentionally tear a wiper blade to get an extra $20 service what else are they doing to your car to force you to purchase additional services? Do not use this location. Honestly I am not sure I can trust any Firestone, if their corporate office allows this. I will be sending written letters of this incident to corporate and the store manager at 3105 Airport Blvd, Mobile Al. From what I understand, Firestone is the only place that you can purchase a lifetime alignment. I have done this for all of my cars over the past 20 years, and it has worked well. I have not experienced long waits, and if I want them to drive me to work, rather than wait, they have done this for me too. They also have always given me good deals on tires. I got my vehicle home and check for a new filter and it was NOT REPLACED! Back in 2005 I went in for a oil change, once they were done i notice my vehicle was WRECKED. I only wanted a vehicle inspection but end up paying over 500 dollars on two new wheels when the old wheels weren't even bad. Break pads when old ones were still good. If I didn't get this done they not have passed me for inspection. They told me inspection would take 1hr 30min. It took 3 hrs for inspection. And 3 hrs have two wheels and 2 brak pads. read more

This locations mentality is "Oh, a single woman. Let's see how much we can gouge her for." Took car in for check engine light. Asked please check why the engine light is coming on. Given a quote or over a thousand, listing things like engine mount needs replaced, new tires, new breaks, transmission and other small items. Asked they just look at why the light is on, They told me all the items listed on the itemization quote were the cause. Confused as since when do tires and breaks cause the engine light to come on?? I was in a rush and need to get back to work so I thought it could wait a day or two. Needless to say a few days later I took the same vehicle to a local repair/tire shop I trust and they found nothing wrong from the quote that Firestone gave me. Why was the engine light on? Air filter bracket broke allowing the air filter to slip out of place. Total cost you ask? 15.98 for the filter and 0.00 for labor. Imagine that! read more

This branch of Firestone will scam you out of anything they can. If you go in for a simple oil change they will try to tell you that the world is falling just to get you to buy more services from them. I brought my car in to them and they came back with "recommended" services. One of which was that I needed all new tyrods, I took this recommendation to a local mechanic who said that there was only one tyrod that might need replacing however the rest of them were fine. I have also had issues with them saying they would do an alignment, then they call you saying that they did an alignment but it wasn't worth anything because the "tyrods are bad". But when you show up and ask them for the alignment they say "oh we never did the alignment because they tyrods were so bad". I would not recommend going to this place unless you want to play a never ending game of cat and mouse with the desk attendants and the supervisors who do not return calls. read more
