This was by far the dirtiest auto service waiting area I've experienced in decades. The condition of the lobby was disappointing. There were multiple large flies and other insects around the windows, which were covered in dust, cobwebs, and dust bunnies. The floors looked dirty, and there was garbage wrappers along the wall trim, making the whole space feel neglected. The final cost also ended up being higher than the estimate I was originally given. On the positive side, the work was completed in a reasonable amount of time, and my vehicle was serviced without issue. Unfortunately, because of the uncleanliness of the facility, I wouldn't ever ever choose this location again. Oh yeah, they put wayyyy too much air in the back driver wheel. I asked for a quote for 4 tires installed. Of course when getting new tires you must have them aligned. The alignment charge was not included in the quote. I didn't question the quote price because I assumed that because alignment is mandatory that it was included in the final price of the quote with the tax included. I was wrong. Add another close to 200 dollars to the final cost. Strike one. I needed an oil change as well. I was quoted a price of 100 dollars. My response was AYFKM! I asked why so much for oil for a 2012 Ford Escape XLT. The guy tells me my car requires full synthetic oil. Google says that's a bold face lie.Strike two. F Firestone! Place has gone downhill. Went to get a headlight bulb, tpms sensor replaced, and a nail removed from tire. They charged me 190 dollars for a 20 dollar sensor, refused to change my headlight bulb as there was an aftermarket led in there. Also told me i need 4 new tires and couldn't remove the nail as it was too close to sidewall. I went to autozone and for 17 dollars put a standard bulb in there without issue (could have done a led as well but was already 200+ in the hole). Then, i went to a tireshop that was open and the tire was easily repaired. They also confirmed that the tires while not perfect had at least 10-20K more miles on them. I was a loyal customer that spent at least 20K in there if not more and this is how I was treated. I would stay away as they are a bunch of crooks now. read more

Horrible, went in for an oil change on Sunday, 12/1. Told the customer service person, that's all I wanted. Its $54.99. Great! I get a call that my two front tires need to be replaced, and it is too dangerous to drive. I may get a blow out! Tires may need replacement but are okay. No sale of course. Apparently, they rotated the tires, good. Relayed to the service rep, I do not have any problems with the car outside of normal maintenance. Seemed upset he could not sell me anything. I did agree to change engine filter okay, $40 (really!). My total bill $98. I pick the car up... drive off onto I 95, one mile down the road I have to get off at the service area - car shaking terribly. I check my tires, of course. Firestone has put 45 psi in my rear, most ball tire. If I hit the wrong bump on the road, the tire could have blown out! This was not a mistake! When I dropped the car there, the tires were all reading 32psi, I had just balance them all out the day before my local gas station. Are they trying to kill the customers? Went to Milford Firestone with a donut tire on my car needed to buy a new tire.....I was given a quote that I felt was too high..when I questioned the service writer he said he would talk to his manager,,,,he proceeded to go into the office at which time his manager was very belligerent and kept telling him to throw us out....the manager proceeded to come into waiting room and was very unprofessional there as well ..... there was a full waiting room of people and he was very rude and unprofessional..I made a report to corporate and they too were not very sympathetic....I have spent thousands of dollars at firestone and would never do business there again.....I left that day and went to town fair tire who were nothing but courteous and got my tire for almost 30 dollars cheaper...the same tire....I spoke to several of my friends and they too were upset with the rudeness of that place..no more firestone for me! I took my car in for tires. I got a call that sounded very important about how the brakes were "metal on metal". I was told I need to replace the rotors and pads. I was also sent an email about how desperate the situation was. I said no thanks went home and did it myself. The pads had about 20% on them and the rotors are fine. The tires were a bait and switch, on the phone it was $888 when I got there it was $1200. Not a fan, not real mechanics just an upsell factory. read more

I recently took my car in to check my tires (I was concerned about a slow leak). Brian helped check me in, and brought some very concerning problems regarding low tire tread to my attention. He checked in with me regularly while my new tires and shocks were installed, and made sure I was comfortable. I often give businesses the benefit of doubt if their ratings are lower up here, giving them a chance to prove they are better than what is reported. In this case, I made a call today to ask about checking the Mass Air Flow Sensor on my F150 with K&N air filter system. I suspected it to be dirty because of poor throttle performance with the truck. It's a less than 10 minute job to check AND clean. Told the guy on phone I was only here for the day. He said best to leave it there for the day. I repeated to say I'm only here today and this should take no more than 10 minutes. He said maybe and to bring it down. I asked if he had Mass Air Flow Sensor spray to clean it and he said maybe but if not, would order it. I repeated again that I could not wait for him to order as I am only here for the day. I said that I had the spray and he said he could not use a customer product. I asked where he would order the can from. He said from the local autozone. I then said that's where I bought it from. To make a long story short, he wasn't helpful one bit. I suggest you beware that for a simple task like this, that could have been done in a few minutes and they make a little money doing it, I'll bet a bigger job, they would most definitely complex it and complicate issue for you. read more

Gary was FANTASTIC! My truck broke down luckily at the exit near Firestone and I called a few auto shops and they were closing so they referred me to Gary. This shop was so kind and so helpful to me, they even work with Enterprise and I was able to get a car within the hour. Gary had my truck up and running by 9:00 am the next morning. They could have overcharged me but they didn't, they actually were more than fair since the mistake was mine. I had put diesel in my gas engine, being from NJ we don't pump gas and I had no idea. I would highly recommend them to anyone! We were talking to a man in town and when I said Gary at Firestone is fixing it he said " You got lucky! As is sadly common in auto care chains, be prepared for them to try to sell you more than you need. If they recommend any brake work, get a second opinion. If you make the mistake to okay new brake pads, be prepared for a subpar job that results in a caliper spring not being installed properly and a delightfully high pitched metal on metal sound- which brings me to my second trip to firestone (my second mistake) When you explain what's wrong, be prepared for blank looks and to explain what a caliper is to the guy, which is very reassuring, a two hour wait, and zero apologies for your having to come back. Or skip all that and go literally anywhere else. If you absolutely must go, don't agree to up-sells, and get second opinions. read more

Well....I purchased tires at Walmart....and cause I was missing to lugs they didn't want to touch it and they sent me to Firestone. Here's what I had done: two lugs replaced two new nuts installation of 2 front tires balancing tires aligning tires brake job (I knew I needed it-pads and rotors) high mileage oil change (oil and oil filter) & lifetime alignment for around = $699.00 I would say the only problem we had was how long it took. Almost 3 hours. The front guy in the store we dealt with was very nice....his name was John. As far as I would say the work they did is fine so far. Nothing wrong. Bottom line: they lied. My girlfriend was told one of the caliper slide pins was seized, absolutely tight and would require replacement of both rear calipers. When the total bill for the day including other services far exceeded what she was willing to spend that day, one of those calipers was now a "negotiable" that didn't really need to be done and could be excluded from that days work. Fast forward, I learned how to do pad and rotor replacements for her vehicle, as just that specific type of brake work is not difficult and you can find many guides, videos, and shop manuals publicly available that will teach you how to do this work. As it turns out, there was not a single seized pin in any of the 4 calipers on the vehicle. A caliper slide (or guide) pin sits inside of the caliper bracket, and as the caliper compresses and expands when you apply the brake or pull your foot off the petal, it is allowed to move back and forth freely in part thanks to this pin. When properly lubricated and well-maintained, this happens smoothly. Firestone claimed that this pin was seized solidly in place. If you look up videos on how to extract a seized pin, you'll see many people taking a torch to their caliper bracket to heat up the surrounding metal, and then using lots of labor to pull it out. It is difficult, and a bit dangerous as there are warnings that the pin may fire out from the buildup of pressure as you heat the bracket. Alternatively, you can just buy a new bracket and pins if there's nothing wrong with the caliper itself. Again, remember that specifically the pin was to blame, and there was no instruction that the caliper itself was faulty, yet a complete caliper replacement for both sides of the rear was encouraged. I'll re-iterate at this point: there are a total of 2 slide pins per caliper, 4 wheels total, means 8 slide pins for the vehicle. Not a single one was seized. Not a single pin was damaged in any way, and all worked wonderfully after being cleaned and re-lubed with proper high-temp brake lubricant. I did not have to replace any caliper brackets, and the calipers are indeed working properly, with no damaged brake lines. This business receives a 1 star on the flat basis of dishonesty. In a perfect world, I would like to be able to take my vehicle to a shop, and hope that the work is done properly, and that if a professional tells me my car needs something, I can trust that it is serious and they mean it. Not in the case of this place. Also, the cost of just doing pads and rotors for both front wheels well exceeded the expense of purchasing the parts at a DIY shop (Advance Auto Parts) *for all four wheels.* read more

absolute WORST!! customer service was Horrible! scheduled for an oil change, wiper blades, tire rotation for a rental car that Firestone holds the service contract with, scheduled online on Wednesday for an 8am Saturday appointment and it was excepted with confirmation. when i get there at 7:50 am they acted clueless and after finding my appointment i was told the wiper blades had to come from dealer and they could not do them, then they entered the vin number and said it was a 2022 when it is a 2021 and the vin was not accepted into the system so he looked at me and said sorry we cannot service you today! This Firestone is terrible!!! But not all Firestone's are bad. Let me illustrate with a little story-- I went to this Bad Firestone in Milford on Boston Post Road (next to Uno) when the engine light on my Toyota Highlander came on. They performed a diagnostic test on my car. They told me that the diagnostic test would be completed in one hour (I needed to get to an appointment); however, it took them thirty minutes longer than promised. This bad Firestone charged me $190 to inspect my car and told me that they would have to spend 3 hours working to replace a faulty wire connection. They told me this would be expensive. I was in a rush so I left, thinking I would return to this Bad Firestone (Boston Post Rd, Milford) to get my car fixed. A few days later I went to a Good Firestone (this one on Chapel Street in New Haven) thinking they would do the work diagnosed by the Milford Firestone. The New Haven Firestone took my car over night and examined it. The ran the same diagnostic check. When I picked up the car, I was told that the original diagnosis was wrong and that they just needed to tweak a tube connected to the exhaust. This good Firestone charged me NOTHING! They didn't charge me for the work and they didn't charge me for the new diagnosis test. I was amazed. I would never go to the Firestone in Milford. Not even for an oil-change. Go to New Haven! In New Haven (Chapel Street) they are honest! read more

I've been meaning to post this for over a year and just got around to it. Simply put, three days after an oil change, my engine seized. As someone in the car industry I suspected they may have forgotten to put oil in the car, then covered up the problem when they heard the inevitable ticking...I had a qualified mechanic check the engine out and he confirmed it was a likely possibility. I strongly suggest that you never take your car to Firestone Complete Auto Care for any reason. I just took my car there for an oil change and to have my brakes looked at because of a noise coming from one of the wheels. They quoted me $1300 to replace all 4 brake pads and rotors, both front calipers and to do a brake fluid flush. This is the equivalent of going to the doctor with a cough and them saying you need to replace your entire repiratory system. This place is shady as hell and will gouge you for every last penny. On 05-24-2013 my daughters 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse died in the left lane of I-95 in Norwalk Ct. during rush hour. She called Triple A to tow the vehicle to Firestone in Milford. The Tow driver from "IN-Tune Automotive" from Norwalk arrived and told her "I can fix this today". I (her father) called Tony from 'In-Tune Auto" and was told the timing belt broke and would have destroyed the motor when it did. He stated that work on the head to repair the valves would be over 2,500.oo alone. After several phone calls he felt another motor was the answer. I called Casey from the Milford Connecticut Firestone where the car is usually serviced. Casey patiently explained to me what could happen when a timing belt breaks and what the worse case price for a repair would be. I realized I was getting scammed big time at "IN-Tune Auto" To get the car to Milford I had to again call Triple A to have "IN-Tune Auto" again tow the vehicle for Triple A and get paid for another tow to get the car to Milford AFTER they wanted a 89.00 "diagnostic" charge from me before they would move the car. So "In-Tune Auto" was paid twice from Triple A, from one call, and my payment for them briefly having the car on their lot! Shortly after Casey received the car at the Milford Firestone he found that the belt had slipped and was not broken and when a new belt was put on the car it purred like a kitten. I rarely write reviews but I feel Casey (and the crew at the Milford CT. Firestone) deserve a lot of praise for his patience, knowledge and his willingness to help in this situation. He is an asset to the operation in Milford. I went from being scammed in Norwalk from "IN-Tune" to great service from Casey at Firestone. My elderly parents had the misfortune of having their car breakdown while traveling home from NY to ME. My dad can barely walk and my mother is not car savvy. However, Firestone changed the entire engine on them-- $4K bill!! Then a month later, we find out their "replacement engine" had defective parts, and now they are denying my parents the warranty service they had promised. The car is not drive-able and we are now on the hook with another mechanic for $2K more in order to get Firestone's "lemon" engine in working order. Forget those other reviews. New management and i have never had such exceptional service. We rolled in off the highway at 5 pm on Saturday a fully loaded station wagon, two sleepy kids and a vacation awaiting. They stayed late to help us get a hotel, reserve a rental car, diagnose the problem and scope out parts for a morning delivery. Then they gave us a lift to the hotel (don't stay at the Howard Johnson's actors the street- they did warn us but we were lazy. Big mistake). In the morning they did a complete diagnostic and decided the problem was something else requiring a part not available. So they devised a solution and got us on our way by 10 am.
