WHAT A JOKE OF A LOCATION (700 patchogue location near Stop&Shop). i spent almost $2,000$ on NEW tires and these bozos cant figure out how to balance tires. how can you sell tires and not know how to balance them? the first time i was there, i dropped my car off in the morning. i come back an hour before close (was told my car was ready) and my car is still on the jack with all 4 tires off. after telling them i need this done now, they rushed to put my tires on and were unbalanced. they tell me to drop it off and will fix it. so i do this, and 2 days later, my car has a death wobble at 70 mph.....still not fixed. i had to eventually take my car to a certified dealership. the only thing this place managed to do correctly was an oil changed. I'm really shocked at any negative reviews for this place... I've been coming here for years and always have a good experience. Over the course of over a decade I've been bringing my cars here. The guys that work at the front counter are always pleasant and informative. I do know a bit about cars (my father owned an auto parts store when I was growing up), and I never feel like they are trying to take advantage (as a woman). My mom has been bringing her car here for years also, and feels the same way. They've definitely told me when I don't need a particular thing where they could easily try to upsell or oversell something. Just last year they recommended I take my car to the dealer for a particular repair because it would be cheaper and better for that specific item (there was a service bulletin). They help find coupons and are patient when I go searching because I forgot before coming in. I never feel like they are being shady or dishonest. I would say you should call ahead to make an appointment or to see how busy they are. I see some complaining about wait times... well I'd rather they do a good job and get it right, and you can minimize your own inconvenience with a simple phone call and set appointments. Plus, while I know it's not always possible, it's much more pleasant to just drop the car off for the day. I do sometimes wait, like today, and they did both my and my husband's car in less than 2 hours (inspections and oil changes on both, plus fuel system cleaning and brake fluid on one). A simple call ahead let me know they weren't too busy. I feel my cars are well taken care of for reasonable prices. I always feel like the guys there are knowledgeable and kind. I really have never had an experience that would lead me to give them one or two stars. They truly deserve the five I'm giving them... and like I said, I've been going there over 10 years... my cars are well maintained and run great, in part thanks to them! read more

I was told by Firestone that my car needed the front and back brakes serviced to pass inspection at a cost of $1,100. I declined the service and was told again that the car would not pass inspection. I again declined the service. The service advisor returned a few minutes later and informed me that the car passed inspection without the brake service. I took my care to have service on the air conditioner. They said I needed a dryer filter and an expansion valve. They called an said they did not know how to change the expansion valve. They charged me the same price for only changing the dryer filter. I wrote a letter to the main head quarters and to the shop. They did not respond. This shop can do simple things like change tires and windshield wiper but anything else I would not recommend them. read more

Ok bad day, traveling to LI and somehow managed to take a chunk out of my tire and beat up the hubcap. Not my best move but came here everyone was so nice ! They took me in right away no judgement about my running into the curb, They were very cheerful even after they put the tire on the front and my husband had me ask them to move it to the back. All of the service writers were awesome at customer service. Would definitely recommend this place for tires. read more

I cannot even begin to explain the level of service and dedication that this location of firestone has given to me on numerous occasions. The first being when my car hit a pothole on the side of the road, after I swerve to avoid an animal. My car was towed to this Firestone location, they immediately called me that evening where I spoke with Anthony who along with the rest of the staff did everything they could to help me find a wheel rim that was not going to cost me an arm and a leg, since I needed two new tires and a wheel rim, alignment, and my steering arm straightened back out. Once the team had exhausted all avenues of finding me a replacement wheel rim, not only within the tri-state area but as far north as Watertown, New York, Anthony recommended that my best chance to not to pay full price was to try to find one online to order, which I did and it saved me hundreds of dollars. The wheel ended up taking longer to come in due to an error on behalf of the site I ordered from, but Anthony stayed up to date with me on the process and once I finally had the rim, since I still didn't have a car, they drove to my house to pick it up and got it on my car and my car completely fixed by the end of that same day! A couple weeks later, just today actually, my car battery was dead (I left the lights on ‍) and I couldn't get my hood to open to jumpstart it. Anthony drove to my house yet again to make sure it was nothing that happened from before and was able to help me determine that it was just a case of needing WD-40 for rust on the latch. Since I had a power station I had never used before, he even helped me get it hooked up and made sure my car started for me! I can tell you right now this Firestone location has a customer for life and my family will never go anywhere else! Thank you to the entire incredible team! read more

I recently got an oil change from this place and I asked them to also check my tires and if they can refill the air cause I had the sensor of "low pressure" on. They did the oil change and definitely didn't check my tires which I also bought from there. So my tires are still low on pressure cause the sensor still on. For the nail in the coffin they forgot to put all the screws from the undercarriage cover so now I have one side flapping in the air, this is like the third time they have done this and I had to go back to get it fixed. I will NEVER go to Firestone for repairs ever again!  I brought the car in because I was told I needed new valve cover gaskets.  The next day, the car died!  Would not start.  We had to have it towed back to Firestone and they claimed they could not find the problem.  So we had to have it towed a second time to another mechanic.  They found the problem.  A wire crucial to the electrical system was crimped under the valve cover and it cut off the power to the engine!!! So, now, I am stuck paying a bill of more than $1000 because they were too stupid to find a mistake that they caused!  I am mad at myself that I brought it to Firestone to begin with.  That will never happen again!!! read more

IThis firestone was paid to do a front valve cover gasket. I would assume the tech was high. Theintake manifold was attempted to be removed (for no reason) . clips were not replaced for coolant lines, causing a line to get wrapped in a pulley and destroyed. The manager claimed it was never there while the clip hung on the bottom of the hose in front of him. They tried to blame it on a previous mechanic. Not realizing that i am a long time firestone customer up and down the east coast because i recently changed my phone number. I have filed a complaint with corporate, who has forwarded it to the area manager. So far my car will have been down for 4 days because of this firestones mistakes and I'm losing income because of it. Another firestone is repairing the damage. Also, no attempt was made to clean any oil that leaked out of the gasket they changed, the manager claims it is not their job. Upon further inspection, there is old seepage within the changed gasket area. Chances are the gasket will need to be redone as well. Update: oil pressure switch and oil pump are under diagnosis and potential replacement because the mechanic left gasket debris inside the engine. Starting with oil pressure switch today. I have been going here for about 20 years. I would highly recommend them. They are efficient, friendly and moderately priced. The waiting room is clean with TV and restroom nearby. Even without an appointment I have never had to wait more than a couple of hours; much less if I make an appointment. And I have never felt that I was taken advantage of. I had a nail in my rear drivers side tire. Been going here for a few years for oil changes etc. My auto had low-profile stock chrome rims. I came back an hour later to pick up the car, drove home down the road and when I got out to go in the house, I noticed the rear passenger side rim was all chewed up and ruined around the edges like if you ran them all along a curb which I have had done on a previous vehicle I had with low profile tires or a machine chewed them up. Yes I am very conscientious of being careful with them because of this. I immediately returned and asked the manager and tech wtf. The tech denied everything and said no way, he didn't touch that tire it was the other side. I told him there was no way I bought the vehicle in like that. i came back the next day to speak to the shop manager. Again, was told there's nothing he can do, tech told him that the rim that was damaged was not the side he touched and there's no way to prove I didn't bring the car in like that. I gave the manager my credit card and said I will gladly pay for the labor right now if I am wrong, I want both rear tires taken off the vehicle, dismounted and if the damaged rim has the brand new patch and the rear drivers side tire that was "repaired" had NO patch, I think we have a problem. Sure as could be, the lying tech damaged my rim, patched the tire and switched the side to cover it up. Manager was embarrassed and apologetic. 20 mins later after he returned from his call with the "regional manger" , sorry nothing we can do for you. The regional said there was still no way to prove the tech did it? And Yes, i paid over a $1000 for a new stock chrome rim to the dealer, a 1 year old newly leased vehicle. Beware of this place, especially if you're a woman. My wife took her car here a few weeks ago to get an oil change and they sold her on new tires (it needed them, just not over the summer). She got back and I checked the tires - they replaced all-seasons with summer tires and never told her! Had I not checked we would have been SCREWED for the winter as summer tires turn into bricks under 40 degrees. I've always had great experiences here! Great customer service. The guys do seem a little over worked and frustrated at each other but they always manage to smile and speak to me with respect. I had my front end calipers, brakes and rotors checked out and the guys told me that whoever put them on last tightened the calipers too tight and it damaged everything. I declined service and they politely put it back together. I took my car to a couple of other places to see if they where being truthful. Indeed the other two shop said the same thing. I chose to take it back to Firestone e because of the credit account and the warranty coverage. I have no complaints with these guys!! read more

On 6/1/17 I brought my car to the Firestone in Medford, NY (store #25127), for a NYS inspection. I was told it failed inspection because of a "rip" in one windshield wiper and that I needed to replace two tires because of a "rip" and "steel coming out" and the treads were below 2/32. I was given an estimate of almost $300, which included $26 for two windshield wipers. I declined and walked out. When I checked my files I saw I had gotten four new tires a different well known tire dealer four years ago. This other dealer is also a certified NYS inspection agent, so I made an appointment with them for 6/7/17. You can not imagine my surprise when they told me THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY TIRES. There was no "rip" or "steel coming out" and the treads were 4/32 and 5/32, well within the safety range. They even brought me out to the car to show me. There was also nothing wrong with my windshield wiper(s). I was appalled. They performed the NYS inspection and my car passed. Firestone-Medford told me I had fraudulent safety problems in order to fail my inspection. This is deceptive, dishonest and fraudulent business practice. I would like the company to inform me, in writing, how this dealer provided a customer with incorrect problems with their car and why they tried to sell me almost $300 worth of work that I did not need. In addition, I have disputed the $37 charge for a failed inspection (that should have passed) and expect cooperation on behalf of Firestone in obtaining it. In addition, I was forced to take a day off work and incurred travel costs to obtain a second inspection. Do NOT get a NYS inspection here!!! read more

They took 4 hours to start to fix a flat tire (with a nail puncture hole in it) that was almost new(1 month old) when they found out I didn't have the extra road hazard coverage, they said it couldn't be repaired. Had two awful experiences here. Once when my preset 9am oil change appointment lasted over 6 hours. For this, I received a credit which is the only reason I went back again. The last straw was my last visit when one of the asst managers kept pressuring me to open a credit card. Criminals!!!!! Absolute criminals... Went there because of a wheel bearing issue, which I knew what the problem was. I was hit with a 62 dollar "diagnosis fee" which was NOT going to be deducted from the bill even if I was going to let them do the work. I was at the counter arguing with the service tech, and a woman came up to me and pulled me aside and said "yeah they tried that shit with me two days ago, I needed my wheel hub and bearing replaced. I have had a few tires replaced here and for the most part, the people have been nice. However, last week when I went in to get a state inspection I was told that I needed new breaks and rotors, air filter, serpentine belt, and battery. When I went home to check these things myself, I realized NONE of these things needed to be done. The prices they charge for parts are outrageous.! They gave me a price quote for $135 for four spark plugs, plus $84 to put them in. I bought all four plugs for $27. Installed them myself. Also $90 for a "fuel system cleaning" which is basically someone dumping a bottle of cleaner into your engine. My advise, learn to do the basic things yourself (which is much easier than you probably think - check youtube) or find a good local mechanic. read more

I went to get my inspection done there because it was close to the gym. Figured I'd get a work out while they did their thing. They called me to tell me that my third break light was out and my car failed inspection. Naturally I asked, how much for the repair? $320 for the part and $77 for the labor. I couldn't believe it, to chance on light it was that much. So I took my car after they scraped my inspection sticker off and drove home. Started to research the part, the part retail at auto zone was $131 and I ended up ordering it on amazon for $95 next day delivery. Then I looked at the light to see what I was going to have to do to change it. And to my surprise it consisted of two bolts and a plug. I couldn't believe it, the guy told me it was a hard process that's why it was so expensive. It was as easy as changing out a tail light. Took me a total of 2 mins. And I spent $95, they tried to charge me $200 extra for the part and then $77 labor for two bolts and a plug. This place is a rip off, hard working people don't deserve to get taken advantage of like this. I will never use this place again. I hope everyone just takes the time to do some quick research before you just give in. My 9 yr old boy could have changed it out with some supervision. read more
