Stop listening to your friends and family members who tell you that they know somebody who can do it for a cheaper price. There's a saying that I tell people who are trying to save money on necessary repairs. "Buy cheap now, you'll pay more later." A car is an investment, and it should be part of your yearly budget to set money aside for repairs. In New Orleans and Louisiana as a whole, we know the streets and highways are bad, so save your money for brakes and struts and tires! With this being said, Bring your car to en establishment who specializes with these services where you get warranties and you can familiarize yourself with the staff. Get the Firestone credit card because it will benefit you in the long run. Ladies, don't prioritize beauty products and material things like clothes, shoes and trips, prioritize a good mechanic, reliable service. My wife and I were leaving New Orleans for a road trip with our dog and we had a packed car. Our tire pressure light popped on and threatened to derail our plans. It was 100 degrees and 5pm traffic. We thought we were screwed but pulled into Firestone to see if they could help. They had a full house but the team there (led by Wagner) checked our pressure, found the leak, and had us replaced and back on the road within 45 minutes. I was shocked at how incredible the experience was. They saved the day. My wife and dog didn't even have to leave the car. They also gave me a solid price on the tire! I just checked indeed dot com on former employees' reviews: "If you want to make a decent amount of money - you have to UPSELL" and "At the service desk I was forced to push expensive services that the customer did not need" - and that's not surprising for Firestone. A friend who teaches mechanics was coming back from TX & I usually ask him for advice: Firestone wanted $200 yesterday for adding 7 oz of Freon and I knew that was too much $ - which my mechanic-instructor friend confirmed coming back from TX. THEN, after we said no to an overpriced wiper-blade change, a mechanic called and said "You need a fan motor change and it'll come to $750 now". The dashboard radiator- overheat light would have come on if the fan wasn't working. It's a rip-off. We've had 100-degree heat & my lady-friend needed a cool A.C., so we were over a barrel. These mechanics take advantage of unsuspecting and vulnerable people - especially older women on a fixed income. Independent service providers are better than these Firestone upsellers - and get a knowledgeable family member or friend to advise you and to look at the "suddenly needs replacement" part. Whatever happened to honest customer service? All service comes with a push of the upsell, now. It's disappointing to see these dishonest company policies go widespread. I am a very loyal customer to this Firestone. I have always had my cars and trucks serviced here as well as purchasing multiple sets of tires. My wife had a nail in her tire and was scheduled to go out of town using her car. She spoke with 2 different employees about bringing her car in to get tire fixed after work. Both times they said it would be no problem and would have it done before close. We made the drive there to get it serviced and were told they could not get to it till next day. We are now scrambling to find a tire shop to fix before her trip. I get it, you are busy. DO NOT OFFER SERVICE YOU CANT DELIVER ON. I had a flat tire so I took my truck in to get that tire replaced on a Friday afternoon. I tried making an appointment online and it was cancelled after scheduling. I stopped by that afternoon and they tell me that they are not accepting appointments because they are short-staffed but if I wanted to leave the tire, they would change it and they would call me once it was ready. They never called me on Saturday so around 4pm I call to check the status and they said it was ready but they didn't have time to put it on my vehicle. They told me to come in on Sunday as soon as they open so that I could be first in line to have my tire replaced. I show up today and the guy working there tells me that he can't guarantee that he can get to it today and that I should just go home and do it myself. I'm not incapable of changing my own tire however, something that took me two hours because of the awful tools the car manufacturers give you to work with would've taken them ten minutes. I understand that everyone is having trouble keeping staff these days but how are you going to run a business an not accept appointments and when I walk in for service, you tell me that my business isn't wanted there? read more

Where do I begin? Maybe it's new management or just a few good guys with a caring nature. First, it was a friendly guy on the other side of the phone who answered my call when all I was trying to do was confirm they were open and it would be a harmless process. He suggested I come in now or set up an appointment. I expected a wait so I stopped at a local Starbucks for that coffee fix before coming into the shop. I didn't have to since they fully stock their refrigerator with drinks and have a breakfast bar full of fresh doughnuts and coffee. Relax with free wifi or watch your favorite show on the cable tv. It's a very clean environment and well lit for reading your favorite book provided you don't forget it at home, as I did. Restroom is handicap accessible with a side rail and raised toilet seat Mitchell greeted me at the door and I had a face to the voice on the other end. He looked up my info quickly. I gave him my keys and off he went to delegate a team member. Lucky for me, it was Brian. Although, I had no idea how lucky. I hoped for a good verdict yet I expected the worst news. I was almost embarrassed to give anyone my keys since my car, known to all my friends as Bessie, has been so neglected especially under her hood. Bessie is an Hyundai Santa Fe SUV and she is bigger than your average bovine. Personally, I think the name suits her amazingly. Mitchell returned with a few not so surprising yet expensive things to replace. Of course, what was supposed to be a tire rotation has turned into a long list of OMG! What tha..?!? All I could hear was the echo of a toilet flush in my bank account. Being a single mom, I couldn't help but get a little creative on the amount of work. Quite honestly, I think the guys knew I was strapped from my initial facial expression. I just didn't see replacing struts and bulged tires in my near future. Mitchell suggested their Firestone credit card with no interest for 6 months. Sure, any other time of year I would jump on that solution. But being that I recently found a job from being laid off, let's just say the credit card I already have screamed at me, "Don't be stupid, Sandy!" So I declined the credit and Mitchell went back outside to tell someone to start working on everything but the tires and struts. When Brian heard I declined the new tires, I actually heard him from inside say, "What!?" He came in and personally helped from that point on. He felt he couldn't let me drive away. It would be too unsafe. I was going to replace the one tire that screamed, "Help me." I thought a bandaid would, sort of speak, help until two weeks from now. Brian, did his magic and reassessed my tires. He reviewed when I purchased them and how long they should have lasted. He really wanted to help me. And he managed to drop the price enough that I was able to purchase ALL four tires and get that rotation, cabin filter, oil change and my license plate lights replaced without slapping my bank account with the back of my dainty hand. I can't express my gratitude and how trustworthy these men are. Shortly after helping me, an older lady was helped with the same caring nature and that's when I realized my bank account may be busted but it was worth every penny. My kiddos may never realize how safe they are. But I do. I vow to never go anywhere else. This is one customer for life. Thanks to Brian and Mitchell. Truly. ....I just saw the boss man, who has been here for awhile, and rubbed me the wrong way once. He gets a second chance. I've concluded it's a few good men that saved my loyalty. read more

I wish I could give this place ZERO STARS !!!!brought my car in a few months ago for a complete break job paid 999.00. Once I started driving the car the brakes started making a squeaking nose, and grinding. Called the manager Bryan who's very nice and I understand he's not the mechanic, but you get aggravated when someone keeps telling you nothing is wrong!!!!Brought the car back no nose for a few days and the nose comes back after driving for a few days. Brought it back again same thing well this is like the 5th time he states they changed the rotors the nose went away and now it's back. This is ridiculous called customer service to request a refund I should've just paid the few extra hundred dollars and brought my car to the dealership. I wouldn't be having these problems. I have a nice car and it's so embarrassing when I stop I sound like a train or bus. Please be careful when using places like this for your newer cars!!! read more

Awful experience. Wasted a full Saturday for the privilege of being told they can't fix it until Monday because they needed a part. I said I would be back Friday, and even called ahead of time. Talk about making the absolute best of a rotten situation, Tracy and the team there are rock stars! We had an unfortunate incident late on a Sunday afternoon. With few options and the possibility that Murphy's Law would be in full effect, we limped in with our overheated late model Honda. Tracy was simply awesome at taking us through the service options and was a very calming influence as our travel plans seemed to crash around us. She and the team were quick to take a look and offer good advice. From making us feel comfortable in the waiting area, to making sure our car was secure while the necessary arrangements were being made. Brain and his crew are so awesome. My husband and I bought our truck new tires about two years ago. They had the best price for the size we needed for our Ram 1500. Today, as I went to get in the truck to come home, I noticed a roofing nail in one of the tires. Not what I wanted to see, so I called Brain. He said no problem bring in the truck. When I finally made it in, they took my truck back and had it fixed within 30 minutes. I was so thrilled that I didn't have to have my husband come pick me up. Brain even greased my drivers side door do it wouldn't squeak. I highly recommend Brain and his crew. read more

This location is one notch above useless. I brought my work commuter in to have the oil changed, coolant flushed, and transmission fluid changed. They wouldn't change the transmission fluid because of some bs about "changing the transmission fluid in a car with a lot of miles on the fluid can damage the transmission." No need to even make fun of that because it's already so stupid on its own. Okay, no problem. They called me to let me know my front tires were getting low on tread. Okay, rotate them. Then the guy fed me some bs about some "million dollar scientific study" that concluded that it was safer in wet weather to have the better tires on the rear. It doesn't take a scientific study to know that the tire with the best tread will be better in the wet. The problem is that I don't need my car to understeer to drive it safely. So then after a 3 minute back and forth he has to go "check with his manager" to see if he can rotate my tires. Seriously? Then I ask about bringing my other car in for new rear tires and get fed some line that "it's corporate policy that we can only install tires purchased from us, or shipped to us." Every other firestone location I've dealt with since 1997 has had no issues installing tires. They just have to have to stickers on them to ensure that they are new. Longtime Firestone customer. Used several different locations throughout the years. My Jeep killed on the interstate and I got it to restart and drove it straight to Firestone because it was closest. Dropped it off around 1-2pm and didn't hear anything so I called them around 6 pm for any updates. They said they didn't get to touch it yet and asked me to leave it overnight. Okay, that's fine. The next day, no call for an update. I had to call them. They said it looks like a transmission problem and that they didn't do transmission repair I would have to take it somewhere else. Then I asked about the EVAP code that was popping up and he was like "we really didn't look into it, but it's just showing up as a gas cap code." That I can come pick up my vehicle and he wouldn't charge a diagnostic fee. The tank is cap-less, I already knew that's one of the codes popping up and it's not a gas cap issue. Why else would I ask them to look at it? When I dropped it off, I explained the other issue with my EVAP system and specifically told them I would like someone to take a look at that too. He said he would call me when he had updates, never called... again I had to call them hours later. The guy said he had someone working on it so he was going to go talk with him and call me right back. Hours later, I just showed up in person because I'm frustrated and my car was sitting in the back where I last seen it early passing on my way to work. If you are actually working on it, I don't care how long it was takes but don't lie to me. I spoke with the woman in the building and she said they haven't got around to looking at it. Oh really because the guy on the phone verbally told me they were working on it to come to find that he never even touched it since this morning and they had it for over a day. After I showed up, she was like well we can pull it around and they said they can look at it real quick for you. Are you serious? I told them no thank you, that honestly I just wanted my key because that was an option. That's not the best part though. The best part is that I drove to my mechanic shop that is a friend of the family straight from there and he said that Firestone disconnected several hoses and didn't bother to reconnect them or inform me that they disconnected hoses to begin with. This is not complete auto care. Unless you get getting an oil change or tires then go somewhere else. Actually I wouldn't recommend an oil change either, they might forget to put back the oil plug like they did with my hoses. read more

Called to get two tires and an oil change. They said they could come in 3:30. Got there early and waited two hours to get started on work. They said I had a wheel bearing that was bad. Told them to show me and then they could show me what led them to believe there was a problem. I have done a lot of auto mechanic work and there was no problems with the bearing. I've been to this location a dozen times and all but about 2 they have tried to upsale me on something I didn't need. The last time I had my vehicle in they tried to tell me i needed new tires on my new truck that had 28k miles on it. I have historically tolerated the non sense because I know better and they can typically get me out the same day without an appointment. Took truck in this morning for oil change and tire rotation and asked if they could have done by 3pm and thought they could get close. When I went back at 245 they had not even taken it or called to tell me they couldnt meet my deadline. Oddly enough when I went into the store all the "service advisors" suddenly had something to do in the shop and when I questioned why the truck wasn't worked on or no one called the appointed one told me they had taken several vehicles before mine because they were waiting. This made sense because I passed the shop multiple times and each time zi saw a different car pulled in behind me that were all in the shop when I got there. This is crappy customer service and they have lost my business and my company's business going forward. If you dont know anything about vehicles go somewhere else unless yo7 have money to burn. read more

This Firestone auto care store is the best and Russell G. is a great manager. The tires I wanted were not in stock and Russell had them delivered within 90 minutes. I arrived at the store at 11:34 AM and my 4 tires were installed and I was ready to go at 12:06 PM. I am 72 years old and this is by far the fastest service I've ever received on a tire installation.
