OUTSTANDING SERVICE! I had a problem with my brake calipers locking up. After reading self help web sites on potential costs I was prepared for the worst. I took my car over and spoke with Mike and Henry on the issue. I was really surprised on how well they treated me. When they looked over the problem they were able to quote me a much lower price than expected. Furthermore, I really felt as though they were looking out for my best interests. They saved me a ton of money on getting the car back to a driveable state without pushing additional unneeded repairs. When I picked up the car, not only did they fix the main problem, but also tightened my belts that were squealing with no additional cost. These guys are AWESOME!. These guys were recommended to me by a friend whose entire family has gotten their cars serviced by them for years. I'm joining the club and will have my Jeep serviced there from now on. It was making a terrible noise, so I brought it in. I wasn't able to get there until a little later in the day (3pm). By 11:30am the next day, Henry called to let me know what the problem was. Alternator issues. Yuck. I gave him the go ahead to fix whatever needed fixing. By 4pm that same day, Mike called to let me know that my Jeep was ready to be picked up. I'm not sure how long that sort of thing usually takes, but to me, that was pretty darn quick. Really nice guys. Really awesome service. They've got my vote. read more

The check engine light on my 2006 Toyota Sienna Van came on. The OBD code indicated the catalytic converter was bad. On 7/23/21, Kenner Automotive claimed to have replaced the converter (see below) and charged $450 for labor. For this vehicle, $450 for labor is REALLY high. I contacted Brandon (the owner) and he issued a $150 refund for part of the labor. Even with the refund the labor was still high. A week later the check engine light came back on. Now the OBD code indicated an O2 sensor was bad. I didn't return to Kenner Automotive since it was not the catalytic converter, and due to the high diagnostic fee (see below) and labor charges. I decided to change the sensor myself, however I found the O2 sensor was only hand tight. When the catalytic converter was changed, they didn't retighten the O2 sensor. After tightening it to the correct torque, the check engine light went out and has remained out. Next, I found a Custom Muffler & Auto Repair sticker under the hood. It appears Kenner Automotive sent my vehicle to another shop to change the catalytic converter without telling me. This would explain why the labor cost were so high. Kenner Automotive simply charged me to take my vehicle to another shop. I have tried to contact Brandon about this, but he won't respond. WARNING: Kenner Automotive charges a $150 diagnostic fee. This fee is an addition charge even if you decide to have the work done. Also, if you pay with a credit card you will be charged a 3.5% convenience fee. Neither of these were told to me when I made the appointment or dropped my vehicle off. read more

Although it probably wasnt a normal situation for being a walk in, my car was fixed in one day! He was very knowledgeable and the price was fair! We recently moved to Kenner from Virginia and on the way down the engine light came on in both vehicles. We took them to AutoZone for an analysis so we knew what the codes were. We found this shop on Yelp and took both vehicles to them. They told us the same codes. They did the least amount of work to correct the problem. Very thorough and honest shop. These guys are truly genuine. I took my car to Goodyear to get two tires replaced. After installing the new tires, there was a sound coming from the front axel. Goodyear assessed the noise as worn out bearing, and quoted me $325 to fix it. Then I went to get a second opinion from Automotive Services inc., they took a test drive with me and said that it's not the bearing and sounds like defective tire. So I took it back to Goodyear and it was a defective tire and replaced it free of charge. If it wasn't for Henry and Mike, I would have spent $325 for no reason. For any future repairs, I am taking my car to Henry and Mike. read more

A couple of years ago I was looking for a mechanic shop near Kenner and found Automotive Services on Yelp with many great reviews. I've brought my truck and my wife's car there several times and are always impressed with their honest work and timely repairs. Henry and Mike run this shop and their prices are very reasonable and their work is professional and dependable. My most recent experience involved an ignition cylinder on my truck that came out with the truck key! Yes, when I took the key out the whole ignition cylinder came out with the key. I had my vehicle towed to Automotive Services and figured that I was going to be out of some big $$$$ since my vehicle has a Passive Auto Theft system that requires a key with a chip and some programming of the vehicles' computer. When I went to pick up my truck the same day the bill was less than $200!!!! I've seen estimates of over $400 for the same work at dealerships. Henry and Mike are very honest, hardworking and dependable business people that I would highly recommend.
